THE 'Mad Dog' formation

Posted: 11/3/2009 11:03 PM

THE 'Mad Dog' formation

There's a new name for the Eagles' Vick experiment,..."The Mad Dog" formation.

It was a pleasure for us to witness the Eagles win Sunday. We saw the future of the Philly franchise. Some say the Eagles are the best team in the NFC. We'll see how that goes.

Just by eye analysis,...the former FALCON has gained some weight in those butter bean thighs,...ya know, all those beans they eat in prison. Not to mention the CONE bread. The boy has lost not just one step but two. His passing skills remain the same, perhaps even worse due to rust.

Not just here,...it is a supreme pleasure to see Eagles fans who berated the Falcons and Vick in past years eat they words. Kind of quiet now huh? Now that Vick is an Eagle?lol

How wonderful things work out.

Imagine having a QB who can't run anymore and is still a marginal passer. If not for prison, we'd have that QB losing games in the ATL right now. Vick is a joke. and not even a funny one.

Re: THE 'Mad Dog' formation

Eagle fans just ignore this poster pnumb has a hard one for Vick and even when Vick goes into the HOF one day as the great QB he will become pnumb and his little Army will say how much he sucks.

Vick was a great QB that did some really terrible things in his personal life. He has paid his debt and now is tryig to work into a very polished system in Philly. McNabb owns that team so Vick is being used not to threaten Mc Nabb which is smart. An NFL QB's ego is something not to be messed with. They are like little children when it comes to who is the Starting QB.

So as Vick waits his moment he is learning the offense and will get his chance. Vick's arm is as strong as anyone's ever. He can make all the plays and still has his quicks. His quicks are not so much straight line running speed it is those quick change of direction he does that not many can do.

For whatever reason Vick haters are blind to his talent, but real NFL personel Like Andy Reid and the Eagles understand.

Defenses hate playing a team that Vick is the starting QB of. I have heard so many interviews of these players that say so. I guess I believe NFL players and management over fans that like to hate.

Fair enough. I wish him well so he can show others that messed up in life that they can turn it around as well.

Really Gatom Vick in the HOF. He's not the best or second best QB in the league. Hell hes not even the second best QB on his own team. HE WASN"T EVEN THE BEST QB ON THE TEAM MOST OF THE YEARS HE PLAYED IN ATLANTA!!!!

He has 6000 posts and tells Eagles fans to ignore me.excited Gatom now runs the Falcons Insider. Vick a HOFamer,...eek1

Ya know,...this is a great conglomerate of forums. Has anyone checked out the Redskins forum? Those fans are in revolt! Check them out over there. And here's what they QB said about the Skins fans,...

Campbell finds road games easier right now

If the bye week was exactly what this Redskins team needed last week, a road game might be the best way for the offense to begin this next stretch of the schedule. Or so says quarterback Jason Campbell. Speaking with reporters today, Campbell said at this point in the season, it's easier for the offense to operate on the road.

"The reason you say that is because if there's a bad play or there's a throw-away or something, we know why we had to do it," Campbell said. "But from fans' standpoint, they don't understand. They think that everything's always open or everything always supposed to be done a certain way. You don't have to worry about the negativity. On the road, you can kind of regroup on the sideline and move forward."

Skins fans aren't taking this well. Problem is for we Falcons fans is that the Skins will be ready to rumble after two weeks rest.

You Vick people are very, very funny.

Re: THE 'Mad Dog' formation

Not only was Vick the best in the league during his time in Atlanta Vick was the best that ever played the game. The Falcons without Vick are home and someone else is playing in GB that year.

Only "fans" are the ones that do not understand football that think Vick is awful. Never heard an NFL person ever say anything but how much they don't want to play against him. Only fans say the oppisite. I still go with people that know rather than folks that watch the game in their homes or in the stands with a beer. But I guess that makes me wrong. So listen to drones that say he stinks. It will make you smarter I guess.

I agree this could be a trap game for us ..........we used up alot of adrenaline last week, and as you stated the Skins are rested and hungry .......and lest we forget  they gotta pretty stingy defense ..........

Really are you seriously trying to tell me Vick was better then both Manning and Brady cause thats what best in the league would mean. Infact let me list some more QBs that were better the Vick. Eli Ben Palmer Farve Hasselback McNabb Brees Rivers and thats just off the top of my head. THATS 10 QBS THAT WERE BETTER THEN VICK WHEN HE WAS PLAYING AT HIS PEAK. Guess what running for 1000 yards and throwing for 2000 makes you a sorry ass qb.

Wasting your time man. Gatom is what he is regarding Vick.

Birdy this is a huge trap game! And Vegas is setting the Falcons up with that ridiculous point spread. I'm worried big time about this game.

Yea, I mean they got decent talent .......Their O-line is horrible is the thing ......they get that fixed they could  be pretty tough .......our defense has to repeat last weeks intensity, if we keep the heat on Campbell we could make it ugly for them ..........never saw Van Gorder dial up that many blitzes .........one thing, I dont want to see JA98 on Cooley like he was Shockey ..........disbelief

Re: THE 'Mad Dog' formation

Simple question: Would you rather have 1,000 rushing or 1,000 yards passing?

1000 yards is 1000 yards I think the point your missing is top flight QBs should be passing for anround 4000 yards Vicks rushing ability doesn't make up for his crappy passing ability

If they get Portis going, they'll get the shots in the passing game. I'm afraid Van Gorder goes conservative early,...deep cover zone. If I were Zorn, I'd be wanting to start fast, get ahead.

Yeah,...it's been blitz, blitz, blitz and it's been good to see. And oh gawd,...Jamaal covering TEs is just,...maybe he got caught in a zone blitz but no way. I'd rather see Trey Lewis playing safety blitzing every play.excited

No worries on that Birdy, Cooley broke his ankle a couple of weeks ago........noidea

Chris Cooley-TE- Redskins Nov. 5 - 1:07 pm et
Chris Cooley's (ankle surgery) best-case scenario is to return for the Week 12 game against the Eagles.
We're not counting on it as even Cooley admitted concern that the team will place him on injured reserve. Cooley said he wants to come back even if the Redskins are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, which they almost certainly will be. Expect some more news Monday when Cooley goes for a second opinion.

I guess this is the real problem. You do not understand football. If you really think 1,000 yards is just that and nothing else matters then stick to your useless stats and enjoy the show. You have no idea what makes football work.

1,000 on the ground is like 2,250 in the air.

When a QB goes for 4,000 yards in a season it is like a RB going for 1,800.

But hey enjoy the NFL, it's fun for all kinds of fans!

Thats your problem right there you're comparing QB's to RB's I'm comparing QB's to QB's. The expactations at each position are different.
