Darrelle Revis Available

What would you be willing to give up for him?

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

there's a lot of talk to get him on the Panthers board. I've got a feeling the Jets will have several offers to choose from. He only has 1 year left on his contract for $6 mill. I say pass on him, due to his big $$ and he's coming off an ACL operation

Can he rush the passer? If not, i wouldn't give you a bag of marbles for him.

Realistic for Carolina for sure, seeing as thought hey can't afford the secondary they have now.

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

someone suggested trading Beason and Gamble for him. Sounds silly to me. Beason should be back next season, from his shoulder injury. Gamble was out with a foot injury. So I expect him back. Revis is coming off a bad ACL and except for Peterson, it takes a full year or more to get better. I wouldn't trade our 2 for him and his $$ and not know if he will be back to full speed.

not to mention you'd have to throw in a first round pick or two as well.

I agree, pass at this time. We need pass rushers, lineman and running back.

RE: Darrelle Revis Available

We can't trade valuable draft picks again. We need youth at OL, DE, RB and LB. Too many holes for trading 1st and 2nds...

Id sit tight. Someone always overpays.

Carolina could no more afford him than the man in the moon.

Re: Darrelle Revis Available

Mike Ditka is the only one that has traded every pick. Revis isn't the magic piece to your Super Bowl puzzle. As some of you have said, you have several areas that need attention.

I guarantee you don't know about developing a team with an NFL draft and salary cap if youre going to mortgage more of our future for revis.

Well you certainly sound like someone who's coached football for years. I'm sorry to have doubted you rolleyes

You also clearly have a strong grasp on the give-and-take of the salary cap, to add another massive contract on top of Ryan's impending one, without any rookie picks left for cheap contracts to off-set it and fill other bigger needs.

With the rookie wage scale, it'd be absolutely foolish to trade away all of your picks for an expensive, aging player coming off an injury at a position that isn't of great need if Grimes comes back for significantly cheaper.

Further, when they moved all of those picks for Julio, it was obvious that the future ones were going to be needed even more to fill holes and develop depth/starters, as guys like Abe and Sammy aren't getting any younger.

I'm confused.... which are you, coaching for years, or not grown up yet. Dude, why don't you list your creditentials as a coach so everyone would learn to listen to your "expert" opinion on matters.

As a Panther fan I wish the Falcons would mortgage their future on a player that's coming off a major knee injury.

RE: Darrelle Revis Available

I love Revis, but we can't afford him, and on top of that he wants to be paid like a quarter back. He wants to make more money than Ryan does, and he's not mroe valuable to the team than Ryan.
