Today showed me....
That we need to seriously consider a DE or even a pass rush specialist type player early in the draft. I feel good about our back seven but we need pass rush help. I know that's obvious but its got to be addressed. If we don't get a DE, we need another penetrating DT who can improve our up the middle rush. Something along that d line.

Don't say situational, today I saw what a situational guy pressed into full duty could do. Bruce Irvin was ABSENT if asked to play in full.

great point, but in defense of the line today we rushed only 4 most of the time and they had 5-6 blocking, russel was forced out of the pocket a lot,

i've been saying I wanted a DE in round 1 all year. the good news is this class is going to be loaded with quality DEs so we should be able to get a top notch quality guy late in the first or 2nd round.

I've been saying for some time that we need pressure up the middle. Another big rushing tackle would do wonders for the defense. All the things I like to do are either immoral, illegal, or fattening. |

DE is a big need. A pass rushing DT isn't really. We already have 4 DTs rotating I think. I saw a lot of energy from Matthews when he came in to replace Abe. Just didn't get enough to finish. "No, I think I'll sit in the balcony" - Abe Lincoln

We also have young DE,s on the roster who haven't been given an opportunity.
All the things I like to do are either immoral, illegal, or fattening. |

Osi U is a freeagent this year..He should be one of or the top target we go for on the Free agent market.
We could also go after Livitran (sp) at OG from Buffalo.
Draft the best player available at RB,DE, or OL

My thing on a pass rush specialist wasn't so much to spend a first on them but more like a second. I've seen him all over mock drafts, but if you could get Dion Jordan in the second, you don't pass it up. Heck, I'd take him late first. Nolan is creative enough to incorporate a guy like that.

I think Jordan will be long long gone, but I love him as well, be great to have a young predator like freak for a change at DE ....I want to get Lacy in the first and Tank from FSU in the 2nd be more realistic.....then sign a FA like Osi as a stopgap....
