Seahawx to start DE Bruce Irvin
Rookie DE Bruce Irvin will start Sunday's Divisional playoff game against the Falcons. The Seahawks lost their best end Chris Clemons to a torn ACL and meniscus in last Sunday's win over the Redskins. "This is Bruce's opportunity. This is what we drafted him to play and we'll see how he does," coach Pete Carroll said. "We expect him to do really well as he steps up." Irvin can certainly fill Clemons' shoes as a pass-rusher, but his ability to hold up in the run game is a question.
Id hate to have this guy embarass Clabo on national TV. While his speed is killer, im hoping Tyson can get his mitts on him and lock on. Id also run it straight at him with Turner\snelling.

RE: Seahawx to start DE Bruce Irvin
I'm expecting CHawgs to jam WRs @ the line often with their imposing, big-bodied CBs...Ryan's gonna need more time than a three step drop in many cases to allow patterns to develop further...the OL (which has concerned me all along) better bring their lunch pails.

I think Atl's OL will determine the outcome of the game.

If they get Ryan killed like they did in the first Carolina and Arizona game, and it's gonna be a long day, but give him time and good things happen... I guess you could really say that for al lot of QBs, but definitely here. And as to what luvdabux said, I'm still not sure they have an answer for Tony G though, aside from doubling him. Irvin is a dangerous and speedy pass rush specialist, but not a 3 down player yet, so I hope we can take advantage of their weakness against the run. You know they'll keep them honest with screens. That's not in question.

If they can't stop our run game, they are going to be in for a long day.

They have played Red Bryant at DE a lot of the last few games. The skins were able to set the edge with his own wide rear end OVER AND OVER. I hope we can do the same.

Seattle has a far better OL and RB than they get credit for. They're the 3rd best rushing team in the league and the too scoring offense.
Atl is 21st in rushing, I don't think they're going to get beat by your RB's and mediocre OL.
If the Seahawks were one dimensional then I could understand, but Wilson is a good passing QB and his escapability will give your D fits.

No habla jibberish por favor. We can run the ball if we have to. The problem comes when our HC wants to run to establish the pass, but we need to pass to open up the run because we can pass on you anyway.

Re: Seahawx to start DE Bruce Irvin
Irvin aint chit, and is a joke vs. the run, look for him to get washed out of some running plays, all he is is one trick move speed rusher, I feel our defense is just as good as Seattles, and our offense and especially QB / WR / TE is much better ....Ryan and Smitty get their first playoff win Sunday, it is a gauranteed lock ....Wilson will look like the rookie he is Sunday, we aint the Deadskins ....

Irvin was absent and our OL played like STUDS. Props to those guys. Konz has filled in nicely lately.
