Week 17 Matchups: Who you rooting for and why?
Title explains it all. Since we won't have much else to root for, might as well focus on who's gonna be the first we get to feast on. Here are the matchups:
Green Bay @ Minnesota - With a Packers win, they would take the #2 seed. If the Vikings win, they would earn a wildcard spot. No matter what, the Falcons will not face Green Bay until the NFC Championship.
Chicago @ Detroit - Bears need a win and Vikings loss to make the playoffs.
San Francisco @ Arizona - Niners are #3 seed at worst with win, and #2 seed with Packers loss. A loss and Seahawks win would put them in a wildcard spot and potential Falcons opponent in divisional round.
St. Louis @ Seattle - Seahawks have clinched a playoff spot, can take the #3 seed with a 49ers loss, and amazingly the #2 seed with Packers loss too.
Dallas @ Washington - Winner takes the NFC East. Washington would also be guaranteed playoff spot with Vikings and Bears loss, win or lose.
Philadelphia @ NY Giants - Giants need a win, Redskins win, and losses from Vikings and Bears to make the playoffs.
So if you're still with me, you're probably just as confused with what we want to happen.
Breakdown: If the Packers lose, then that means one more game they have to play as the #3 seed that they could possibly lose, but this could mean letting in a Vikings team that doesn't scare me too much, but with a strong defense and running game could still be problematic.
If the Vikings and Bears lose, then it guarantees the Redskins a playoff spot whether they win or lose, and would give a spot to the Giants if the Skins beat the Cowboys.
Only question with the Niners and Seahawks is how soon do you want to face them, or should you hope one or the other has 2 games to get through before we see them?
My thinking is that the Giants would lose to whoever they faced, so them making the playoffs doesn't necessarily help us. I think I'm rooting for Green Bay to lose and Niners to win to take the 2 seed. Green Bay and Seattle scare me more right now, so more games for them (but then again could mean facing the Seahawks earlier, so I dunno)...
I also think I'd rather face the Skins with a non-existent pass rush than Demarcus Ware and the Cowgirls.
Honestly really unsure what to make of the Bears or Vikings against us, so I'm kind of indifferent about them.

I'll be pulling for the Vikings & Skins & I don't care about the 9ers or Seahawks. Neither one scares me more than the other. Than both have similar strengths and weaknesses. If i HAD to choose I'd probably rather see the 9ers right now, but the Seahawks on the road aren't the same as the Seahawks at home so really...it doesn't matter.

Re: Week 17 Matchups: Who you rooting for and why?
against the top tier RBs in the league that we've faced this season
Jamal Charles - 87 yards
Darren McFadden - 70 yards
Lesean McCoy - 45 yards
Doug Martin - 50 yards
4 - 0

Re: Week 17 Matchups: Who you rooting for and why?
can only compare with what we have. Just have to scale it out...so let's say AP is twice as good a RB as Lesean McCoy is. That's fair. Then I would expect him to get 45x2 = 90 yards. Simple arithmetic really. Falcons win in blowout fashion.

AP would run all over you guys, but it wouldn't matter. Ponder is still Cpt. Checkdown and they are well short on talent around Peterson. He's the new Barry Sanders.

Rams of course ( my fave pro team ) to win because they will then have an undefeated record within the division and that was one of Coach Fisher's stated objectives.

Packers all the way...can't stand the Queens
Chicago @ Detroit - Bears need a win and Vikings loss to make the playoffs.
Hopefully...Detroit will take Chicago out of it's misery...they've been suffering long enough....
San Francisco @ Arizona - Niners are #3 seed at worst with win, and #2 seed with Packers loss. A loss and Seahawks win would put them in a wildcard spot and potential Falcons opponent in divisional round.
San Fran...simple...cuz they're gonna win..
St. Louis @ Seattle - Seahawks have clinched a playoff spot, can take the #3 seed with a 49ers loss, and amazingly the #2 seed with Packers loss too.
Seattle....same as above
Dallas @ Washington - Winner takes the NFC East. Washington would also be guaranteed playoff spot with Vikings and Bears loss, win or lose.
Washington...like the Bears...please end the painfull season of these Cowgirls...RGIII all the way
Philadelphia @ NY Giants - Giants need a win, Redskins win, and losses from Vikings and Bears to make the playoffs.
Don't really care...the Giants are on a losing streak...but..I believe they'll win Sunday...

In the end...it doesn't really matter...Failclowns are going down...Niner Defense to dominant...Seattle Defense to dominant...RGIII and the skins to dominant...Green Bay would eat you alive...
 Cmon...Bring It
