As much as I love Julio....

Can you imagine how great we'd be sitting right now if the Bengals took the same offer for AJ Green?

Of course it's still too early to say which will end up the better reciever, I think that if Julio starts to really get it, then the sky is the limit, the kid could be the best ever before it's all over. He's already bordering on Calvin Johnson uncoverable, but he's still raw, and at times struggles with what just comes to AJ naturally, finding a way to come down with that ball.

There's little doubt anymore that AJ was the more pro-ready reciever, but the scary thing is Julio still has plenty of room to improve, while still being able to break games wide open as raw as he is...

In the short term, I think AJ could have been a better piece to contend for a Superbowl now, but as for the future once Julio really starts establishing a connection with Ryan, I don't think we'll miss Tony G or some day Roddy at all....

It seemed that A.J. was a little more injury prone in college... while also coming from a system @ UGa that featured him more prominently than J.J.'s did.

Not at all, can't remember what exactly they were (2 injuries in 4 years I believe, one very minor) or how much time he missed, but none of it was a concern.

And compared to Julio, that's actually a big knock on the kid that he gets pretty banged up. Even in the last game I saw him coming up wincing, so I have to wonder how close to 100% he actually is right now... Also have to wonder why if that's part of why Julio's numbers have been far and away better on the road, as if they almost give him the game off when at home when they can, since we always win at home (aside from the Giants game of course where they really needed him with Roddy banged up).

I'll tell ya this, the NFL is a HUGE adjustment for young players just out of college especially.
The wear and tear of 16+ games schedules, the "unlimited" practice times, and the consistent level of quality competition all takes a toll on the once stud college hero.
You'd havta figure too that their unrestricted personal lives are just NOW their responsibilities alone...
Could you imagine chasin' muffin as a 20 something millionaire celebrity in Atl ? Vs. the environment you grew up in in Rural AL or SC ?

AJ Green is a stud for sure and he'd have been great here as well, but honestly I think JJ is the better fit for our team.  AJ is the clear #1 in Cincy whereas JJ is sometimes #1, sometimes #2, and sometimes #3 option here in ATL and still puts up numbers similar to Greens.

per game:

JJ averages 4.7 catches for 78 yards and .65 TDs

AJ averages 5.2 catches for 78 yards and .62 TDs

Tom, ya just get the feeling that this team hasn't "shown all of their hand yet"...this coaching staff has some serious cards up their sleeves that will no doubt baffle some folks during the playoffs.
Gonna be some awesome entertainment in the next month !
