Did I miss something about the Giants' fans?

Did I miss something about the Giants' fans?

Man, y'all seem to hate the Giants' fans.

Did I miss something from them?  I looked at a few of the posts here and they all seem to be cordial and congratulatory.  I know the media's lack of confidence in our favorite team is discouraging, but I thought the Giants' fans were respectful coming in and gracious going out.

Did I miss someone?  Did I miss something?  I'm all for smacking the trolls but not just because of the color of their fandom (except the Saints... **** those guys).

Re: Did I miss something about the Giants' fans?

not many showed up this week so it was pretty tame, but I admit I have a short temper with them because I remember them showing up in droves during the playoffs...but ONLY AFTER they beat us.  Then they wouldn't leave.  Seems like they were still here during Super Bowl week seeking validation from us that they were so much better than us and talking s*** when we wouldn't give it to them.    However, I will also admit that after the loss this time the ones who did show up actually were pretty classy. F'n Giants Fans.  eek

Haha, i did some looking back to make sure I was remembering correctly and yep.  I found this piece of insight that I wrote and now I'm wondering if I might actually be Nostradamus reincarnated.  Keep in mind it's written with a little venom as we've been arguing with some Giants fans that were trying to tell us how elite Eli was especially when compared to the mediocrity of Ryan.

Re: Eli was sacked 6 times yesterday,

Ryan has held his team up all by himself for the past 4 years.  Eli hasn't.  Eli is just a roller coaster of a QB...  Good today, terrible tomorrow.  In fact, the more that I think about it I realize that even now while Ryan is doing shots in a steakhouse he is still a better QB than Eli.  Eli is nothing more than streak QB and Giants' fans, the schmucks that they are, will be calling for his head after he leads his team from 6-2 to 8-8 once again next season.  Now GFY.

cool

Gatom wrote: I think we are more burned out on the NY media promoting an 8-5 team on how they would destroy us a 11-2 team at home which is 32-4 under Ryan while having around  a 30 game streak of not losing 2 in a row which is the longest right now.

Fun shoving it to them a bit, last year's 2 we put up didn't help either, which is 2 more points they scored Sunday.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find ANY NFL fanbase as generally more annoying as those N.Y. based circus acts.
As bad as those Giants fans can be - their interconference counterparts, the Jets fans are incredibly even more obnoxious...it's really been quite a blessing that th J - E - T - S  suck so bad and particularly since their current coach is such a deplorable asshat.
IF those Jets sorryasses ever put it together, look out. They are extremely difficult to deal with.

Re: Did I miss something about the Giants' fans?

I rarely post on the Big Blue boards and took the opportunity this week to post here because I'm local and was going to the game.

I can't stand the whole media derived "elite" BS.  Eli's got great numbers as Giants QB.
Sure he's streaky.  Who isn't?  But I grew up on Pisarcik, Golsteyn, Dean, Brown and Kanell.
So I'm OK with Eli and ignore the reactionaries.  I'm happy with a playoff run and trips
to the Superbowl regardless of Eli's numbers or the team record.  If all I cared about
was my fantasy league then sure, the other Manning is a better bet.  But Eli's clutch and
a perfect QB to deal with the NY media.  My $0.02?  Our D sucks and our O-line is past
due for an overhaul.

That said I like my adopted home team, the Birds.  I like this current team, staff
and their attitude.  So after the Gmen, I'll be cheering for the Falcons.  And whomever
is playing the Cowboys and the Jets.biggrin

I think every team has their trolls.  Some of them don't even post on the board of the team that they claim to be a fan of.  Its like they thrive in contraversy.

We still have troll Vikings fans from time to time come and flame the Saints, but when I go look at the Queens board, they have no posts.  I think a lot of times these "fans" are not representative of the base.  jmho.

Agreed iRonin - all of the Giants fans I've seen the past week or so have all been classy here. The ones that came around after our playoff drubbing were annoying, but the recent ones have been great. Certainly welcome in my book.
