Re: Week 6 : Game Balls n Goats Seahawks vs Patriots

The goats are alot easier this week, so I am going to start there.

GOATS

1)   Brady.  Quite possibly the worst half I have seen him play ever (I'm including the last play in the first half).  Bouncing balls (and overthrowing) wide open receivers, two intentional groundings (which took points off the board), 2 INTs, and got sacked by his own OL.  And it wasn't an WR issue because he couldn't connect with wide open receivers.  And it certainly wasn't an OL problem because he had pretty good protection.  He just flat out sucked.

2)   The whole secondary.  The Dennard PI on the TD was silly - there was no contact.  He just got beat.  I don't now why the other team doesn't just bomb it 50 yards every play because its either going to be a completion or a PI.

3)  The whole defense for letting a crappy offense get a touchdown in the last minute of the game.

GAME BALLS

1)   Jones - two sacks and forced fumble.  About as good as you an ask.

2)   Welker - had a hell of a game.

3)   The LBs.  Very solid all around.  Stopped a great Seattle rushing team.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:   Special teams until the last punt.  The kicking game was great and the Patriots had much better field position the whole game.

Re: Week 6 : Game Balls n Goats Seahawks vs Patriots

GAME BALLS

1)   Wes Welker --   Moved the chans in impossible situations.  Took massive hit, then came back to convert another huge play.  100 consecutive games with a catch.

2)   Patriots Run Defense --  Marshawn Lynch 15 for 41.   That's a good day.

3)   Chandler Jones -- a forced fumble, 2 sacks, and in on 9 tackles.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Brandon Marshall -- incredible body control. How he makes some of those catches are still baffling.

Danny Woodhead -- making something out of nothing every time he's in the game. The new Kevin Faulk.

GOATS

1)   Coaching -- The FG at the end of the first half.  the decision to blow their last time out. the move to pass instead of run the clock out.  Too many uncharacteristic mistakes.  Didn't look like a normal Patriots operation.

2)   Running Game -- Invisible. 26 runs for 87 yards.  Disappeared when the team needed it.

3) Secondary -- there's no denying this is arguable the worst secondary in football.   The unit managed to let Russell Wilson throw bomb after bomb and either get a Pass Interference call or a completion.  Wilson 16/27 for 283 4 pass plays over 20 yards and 3 over 40 yards. One was a penalty called back.

DISHONORABLE MENTIONS:

Kyle Arringon... not a good day  Burnt twice badle. Late to th eball, or hit the WR with PI trying to make play

Stevan Ridley -- That spin move has to stop.  It's going to start causing fumbles. 16 for 34 (2.125 avg)

Re: Week 6 : Game Balls n Goats Seahawks vs Patriots

Goats

Secondary - Worst in the league, none are starter caliber

Play calling/clock management - Right before halftime that was terrible, started to run down the clock, then had to rush 2 plays, and end up with nothing. Thats not the first time clock managment has happened this season.

Secondary - They get two goats this week. The bomb for game winning td was bad, why even have a saftey out there if hes going to be burnt 50 yards deep.

Gameballs

Spikes - Nice hits, great run stopper.

Welker - He got some nice 3rd down conversions, and took a killer hit.

No third gameball, i hope they get a standing booooooooo and middle fingers when they take the field against the jets next week. The coaching sometimes really makes me question if they think ty law, tedy brushi laywer milloy and rodney harrision in there prime is still out there. Man coverage is terrible, no one on the secondary is experenced or talented enough to be a threat on man to man. I wish we had another stud at dt to run a 4-3 and let some of the pressure off wilfork and have 3 lb's out there instead of 3 cb's on occasssion. can we move mccourty to saftey already? Do we go to a full passing attack because hernadez is back?? We are tied with buffalo and jets now?? really??

Balls-Chandler Jones,Welker,LBs. Goats-coaching staff-They where brutal.I am starting to wonder if BB has lost it.Secondary-Why is Arrington still on this team? This secondary hasnt gotten a big stop in the end.It kills me as a fan of this team.Brady-He has to be more consistently good and not have these up and down starts.Very dissapointing 3-3 record. This team hasnt beaten anybody good and that includes denver.

Re: Week 6 : Game Balls n Goats Seahawks vs Patriots

GAME BALLS
1)   Welker - Unless he is injured if BB puts Edelman as a starter again this season he should be fired on the spot.

2)   Chandler Jones - made some plays out there

3)   - Spikes a physical nasty presence that ever defense needs

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

GOATS

1)   Brady - Over throw, under throw, intentional grounding. How many trips in the red zone yesterday and how many point? Enough said. At times I swore Mallet was the Patriots QB yesterday

2)   Coaching staff. BB, McNugget. Bad play calling. Once again this team can't hold a double digit lead LATE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. Are you kidding me? This is coaching.

3)  Secondary. The worst in football. Some of it is coaching as the CB's don't turn their heads and locate the ball, The safeties don't play over the top, they are back there snoozing getting beat deep by QB's who are NOT good passers.Taking bad angles to the ball.

DISHONORABLE MENTIONS
BB gets one of these too for not drafting or signing secondary players who know how to and can cover man to man.

Chance favors the Prepared Mind.

Re: Week 6 : Game Balls n Goats Seahawks vs Patriots

Game  Balls:

1- Seattle D - For living up to their #1 D status
2- Rookie QB - Shredded NE secondary
3- Seattle O - For 2nd. half performance

Honorable Mention: The 12th. man

Game Goats:

1- Sir Brady - I can't remember ever seeing Brady
" bounce"    balls to receivers. Something was in his
     head. Outplayed by a rookie.
2- NE D - Where were they in the second half?
3- Losses' - Three by 4 points is shameful for a NE Team
    Close doesn't do it.

Dishonorable Mention - I really have trouble believing not one coach on the sidelines failed to realise the gravity of the clock situation at the end of the 1st half.  Puff, 3 pts gone. Does the king need a checkup from the neckup??
