Re: Week 5 - Pats v Broncs ... BALLS & GOATS

Balls:

- Brady - For masterminding the balanced no huddle offense

- The Run Game  - Even with Ridley's fumble they had 2 TDs and 251 yards that is outstanding

- Welker - Not exactly lost in the offense with key catches, and a short but nifty punt return.  Five yards down there is big.

Hon men Dennard for making some nice plays at nickel

Goats

- Devin McPorous

- McGahee - a key fumble and dropped pass

Dishon men:  OL for almost getting Brady killed, even though they helped spring some long runs

Hon Men: The play calling, - except for that stupid 4th down call.

Re: Week 5 - Pats v Broncs ... BALLS & GOATS

BALLS:

1. Ridley. Just impressive running no matter how you look at it.

2. Welkah. Pretty close to unstoppable yesterday.

3. Ninkovich. A sack and 2 game-changing FF's.

Honorables: Brady (kicked arse), Woodhead (2 huge 3rd down conversions), Bolden (solid job - though why they run him outside is beyond me), Wilson & Dennard (solid play for rookies), McDaniels (for 3/4 of the game), The Colts for their upset win against the Packers, Manning for playing a lot better than I ever expected him to.

GOATS:

1. McCourty. Move him to safety already. When he can play the ball, he is awesome. When he has to play a man, he's a disaster.

2. First 10 minutes of the 4th quarter ... what the hell? 4th-and-5? Really?

3. Moore. Yeah, he caused a FF in the 1st quarter, but he got beat. Bad. He seemed to be 2 steps behind the play all game long. I do like that he didn't give up on that play and popped the ball out - most players wouldn't have made that play. Maybe he's hurt, just looked slow.

Balls

1. The OL - opened up holes for another 200 yard running game. Did a good job in pass protection. Most of the issues were 5 seconds after the snap. If the OL gives you 5 seconds and noone is open, just throw the ball away.

2. RBs - Ridley with another great game. It's nice when the other team knows you are going to run the ball and you can still pick up first downs.

3. Welker - great game.

Honorable mentions: Brady (great game, but shouldn't be taking those coverage sacks), Dennard looked really good, Ninkovich.

Goats:
1. McCourty and Moore, and the DB coaching. Post game comments make it seem like its a technique issue - they are told to play the receiver, not the ball. But I am tired of PIs because they aren't looking back.

2. Lawfirm - has more fumbles than Ridley, less yardage, and a lower YPC. Money matters, but he gave up a really good thing.
