Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

BALLS

1. Gronk. That one word says it all.

2. Carter/Anderson - these "has beens" are proving to be a terror to opposing QB's.

3a. The Who ... our unknown DB's ... Arrington leads the league in INT's, Adams had a pick, Molden almost had one, and Moore looked OK as well. These guys may just turn into something.

3b. Edelman ... he touches chicks and runs back kicks ... maybe being in BB's doghouse for a couple weeks was the best thing for him ... great seeing him play O, D, and ST.

Honorables: Kyle Love had a good game, Vereen finally got on the field and averaged 5 y/c plus got a TD, Cannon got on the field which is a miracle in itself, Law Firm just kept hammering away, Ninkovich didn't get an INT but he got a sack and good pressure, Woody (another UDFA "nobody" who I wouldn't trade for anyone).

GOATS

1. Brady. What the hell is this playing like you're half asleep for the first 25 minutes crap? Again!

2. Personnel Use ... up 24-3 in the 4th there is NO reason not to put in Vereen, Ridley, Ocho and Price the rest of the way. These guys need the reps. At least they put in Vereen at the end but I don't understand keeping all the starters out there those last 8 minutes when there are players who really need to get on the field and work with Brady.

3. Offensive Playcalling ... and you can read that both ways. Boring. Predictable. They finally pulled out a few screens in the second half, and KC was so battered that BJGE finally got room to run. But in general the offense looked out of sync - and at this point in the season they shouldn't be.

Dishonorables: Chucky Gruden (just STFU), Darth Roger (for fining Sexy Rexy $75K for telling a heckler to STFU and fining Gronk $7500 for spiking the damn ball last week), nfl.com for always putting a 30-60 second ad up on the game recap page with no friggin' volume-off button and the volume cranked 150% - I friggin' hate that, and the Super Chokers for doing what they do best.

Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

BALLS

1.  DL - Got to the QB all game and dominated the line of scrimmage

2. Edelman - doing his Troy Brown impersonation, on defense and in the return game

3. Gronkowski - Touchdown machine.  Best Tight End in the NFL right now.

Honorable Mention - Cannon - great to see him get on the field, Vereen - ditto...showed some explosivenss, Arrington for the picks, the defense in general

GOATS

1. Slow start on offense - The reason was a combination of drops (Lawfirm and Gronkowski) and Brady making bad throws or not recognizing the open receiver quick enough

2.  Offensive line - not their finest performance

3. Kansas City's coach for calling timeouts at the end of the game when the Patriots were trying to run the clock out, extending the game an extra 2-3 minutes, which will no doubt lead to the usual haters saying the Patriots were trying to rub it in.  The simple fact is if the timeouts weren't used, that last touchdown would have never happened.

DISHonorable Mentions - Hernandez with another dropped TD

Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

BALLS

1. Gronk

2. DL- Except for Deaderick. He was pushed around all night and looked terrible.

3. DB's- I know Palko was the QB but the pretty much shut down Bowe and Baldwin

Honorable Mention

GOATS

1. IHedigbo- This guy is brutal.Did you see the horrible effort he made on the T.Jones run??

2.Hernandez- Needs to do a better job catching the ball.

3. Mankins- Cheap shot at the end of the game. Totally not called for.

Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

Balls:

1. Gronkowski: Best TE in football, holy cow he is a force.  I can't think of another TE who can block like him, run like him and catch like him

2. Anderson/Carter: Have I mentioned I like Anderson?tongue.. These guys are feeding off one another and doing work. BTW, Andre Carter looks like a Masters of the Universe action figure, dude is just ripped!!

3. Edelman: Gotta eat some crow here, 3 weeks ago i was calling to cut him due to his horrible returns and off the field incident. Seems like since he cut the mullet he has played well(opposite of Bradynoidea). Dude just blows guys up on defense, what does he weigh 170 wet? LOL

4.Mayo: Man it is every game now that he just lays a guy out. Hopefully he is establishing the middle and letting teams know that if they come across he is looming

5. Vereen: This is our future IMO. Did you see the speed when he hit the outside? WOW!!

Honorable Mention:

Cannon: Great to see him out there. We had a few injuries yesterday and getting him some work could not have come at a better time

Arrington: I bet every pick he has this year has ricocheted off 3 players and fell in his hands. Oh well, guess he puts himself in positions to make plays

Goats:

1. Brady: He is still off on a lot of is throws and is holding the ball too long. Also, I don't mind the 4th and 1 or 3rd and 1 QB sneak but this open field running for a 1st down makes me nervous

2. Guyton: How many times is this guy gonna trip or fall down when nobody is around?  He did it again yesterday covering a TE in the middle of the field

3. Hernandez: Love the guy but he dropped another TD

Dishonorable Mention:

Volmer: for getting beat like a drum in the first half by Tamba. The one play it looked like he just gave up. At least grab the guys jersey and hold him if you get beat.

Tebowmania: What am I missing cause apparently I am the only one who does not get excited about a QB who completes 25% of his passes for 58 minutes but then scrambles late for wins. Glad he beat the Jets though

Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

BALLS

1. Edelman - he played everywhere and not just played but contributed. O, D, ST

2.  Gronk, the 6 best TE in the game. (lol.. he's the best right now) Trying to think back who else was asking for the Patriots to draft him besides me....

3. Vereen (yes thats right) and BJGE, Woodhead. Finally the RB I have been asking for, waiting for plays. See the explosiveness. This is the guy not Ridley that was said could be the feature back for the Patriots. Wonder what could have been if he had not gotten injuried in training camp.

Honorable Mention

GOATS

1. Special teams. Yes Edelman scored on a punt return, but he mostly did that on his own. They give up too many yards on kick offs and punt returns. They also almost gave up an onside kick if the ball had not hit the KC players leg.

2. BoB, Offense starting off slow. Against a good team this could have been a big problem. He has to make an proper adjustment faster. In the playoffs with the Patriots defense the way it is right now the offense cannot take an entire half off.

3. OL. They were getting beaten like a drum.

DISHonorable Mentions

Tired of seeing Romos face in interviews promising or saying they will win a Super Bowl one day. How about ONE playoff victory first.
Giants for letting Philly win.

Re: Game 10 - Chiefs - Patriots: Game Balls & Goats

BALLS

1.  The Defense - The first 2-3 drives by the Chiefs were very unorthodox but the defense adapted well.  The Chiefs were trying to steal plays and the Pats adapted and stopped them.

2. Gronk - I'm not sure this guy is stoppable...I watched him running before the game next to AH and I didn't realize he is significantly larger than Hernandez.

3.  Carter/Anderson - Pass rush is developing...honestly they could potentially have 20-30 sacks together this season.

Honorable Mention - Logan Mankins - I say let him rip someones head off every game and take the penalty yards...it seems like each time he does it the OL stiffens up and plays right.

GOATS

1. TB - First half he seemed slow in his decisions and the ball wasn't coming out right.

2. Easy catches dropped - Gronk, BJGE Hernandez, Welker all had catchable balls dropped.

3.  Blitz pick up - The OL seemed to do OK but the Running backs and TE's seemed to miss a few stunts and blitzes that they were assigned to.

DISHonorable Mentions - I do not like Gruden adn Jaws on analysis.  They always take the story of the night (Palko starting) way to far and not analyze anything.
