This will be very similar to the Pats-Colts game. Don't do anything stupid Bill, please!
The Pats do very well vs the NFC. They also need this one. Right now they are tied with Cinci and SD for the second bye....they all are 7-3 and 5-3 in the Conference anyway.

Hello guys and gals....
Big game for both teams from a "just how good are ya" mentality. With us just being the Saints there will always be some doubt all no matter how far we go, and for ya'll there have been whispers around the league that maybe, just maybe, there has been a changing of the guard of the top AFC team, year in and year out.
Anyways, I think time of possession will pick the winner of this game. The stronger running game will keep the opposing high powered offense off the field IF niether team jumps out to a big lead.
No injuries for both teams and Geaux Saints....the Dome will be rumbling and Bourbon Street will be fun for all fans.

Welcome all Saints fans.... The Patriots have teh early advantage because prior to the game someone is going to steal the red flag so Belichich won't waste anymore time outs!! And the people upstairs for the Patriots are being fitted with prescription eye glasses to make sure he knows not to throw it if he gets a duplicate red flag.

Defensive secondary will decide this one, New England will get 2-4 intercepts.New England will be able to run the ball.
BB is trusted, do not be stupid, 3 rings, perfect 16-0, 100plus against 42 with Patriots.

Pats have the #6 ranked D, the Saints are #17. Offenses are ranked #1 (NO) and #2 (NE) ... it'll come down to defense. The Pats secondary and LB's are a world different than this time last year and improving every week.
The thing Brady needs to watch is throwing INT's - the Saints lead the league in that department. For the Saints, I honestly don't know who they can risk double-covering. Leave either Moss or Welker in single coverage and they will burn you. Bad.
What BB needs to watch is Payton ... he's facing a good coach who gets the most from his players and makes good half-time adjustments. The Pats cannot afford to fall apart after the half against this team.

Finally, a top tier team with fans that are giving us a little respect. Kind of nice.
On another note, this is going to be one exciting game to watch. I look forward to this being one of the best games of the year. Two incredible offenses going head to head.
While I favor the Saints, I love Wes Welker and Randy Moss. Our slightly darker version of Welker(Lance Moore) has been sidelined with injuries most of the year so I understand how much of a difference a good slot reciever can make. We're really going to miss having Tracy Porter (one of our starting CBs) this game.
I see this game as one that will bring the best out of both our teams. Here's to hoping for an injury free game. Luck rest of the season!

The key to this game will be pressure, If the pats can pressue brees they can win this game.
Mahroney needs to earn a paycheck, a running game will be huge. PAts need to slow the game down, i dont think a shootout favors the pats. PAts must turn drives into touchdowns. They cant win by fields goals. There going to give up some yards and points, so they better score. I think edleman/welker can be very effective since saints linebackers arent that fast, and moss deep can work since they have injuries in the seconday. Should be a great game, if its close and under 30 points, pats win, if its a shootout, saints win.

I agree with ya...the best defense will dictate the outcome of the game...a couple of turnovers by either teams defense will put the opposing teams offense on the field and in control...we're hurting in our secondary and gives me concern going against Welker and Moss...Moss deep and Welker finding the holes in the secondary...[scary]...Brady has been looking very good as the season has worn on...he'll get his shots against us...no doubt....on our part...Mike Bell and Pierre Thomas has given us a long lost running game...if Brees is on and in the zone...he's got some weapons to choose from...I'm looking forward to watching this battle...should be a very good Monday Night game...good luck Pat fans...

I didn't realize you guys were so high in defense Drew has had a tendency IMO at times to hold the ball to long causing some fumbles as he is hit. Hopefully we can keep you guys under control.
If Sed Ellis plays, we win.

The Pats D has been pretty solid all year. Indy caused some problems late, a lot of that had to do with two regular DL (Warren and Green) were out and they had virtually no substitutions. Pass rush is not the strong point. Pass and run defense are.
One other thing the Pats love the Louisiana Superdome.

Forget 'da game ! Whenz da parti start?? Ain't nothin like Mr. Daniels on Burbon Street.......................
Here is a serious predicament(sp) for the New England guys. Straight up both clubs are the real deal however, this year one club excells in the 2Nd. half and the other one, well, seems to just "poop-the-bed"
There will be no rushing records set in this game and, neither club may reach their season average. Which leaves the pass game. The NEP are going to need it and more as the Saints are a great come from behind, 2Nd. half team.
Sooooooooo, whenze 'da party start?

The Pats pass-rush has been steadily improving the last few weeks. They got good pressure on Seyton, and definately got after Dirty Sanchez. It's not what it was when they had Willie McG and those guys, but it's certainly better than last year. My hunch is BB will shut down the run, and take away Colston and force the Saints to use Plan B.
But they have to finish the game. I hope the game stays close because if by some stroke of luck the Pats are up by 14 at the half they'll probably screw it up.
So, like, could we get some Eric Mangina voodoo dolls made while down on the bayou?

I think the one big difference between the Saints and Colts is that the Saints actually have a very good rushing attack, The Colts don't. So the Patriots will really have to honor both aspects of the Saints offense. With the Colts you just gameplan against Manning for the most part. Should be a very entertaining game.

Both teams have more than proven they can score, - ST, (lack of) mistakes and defense will determine the out come. ... Not a prediction, but a "fairly" low scoring game wouldn't surprise me. With about everyone looking for a 40-38 type of game, just might not happen.

It's gonna be raining footballs in this one...

Yeah the Pats love the Dome, but not when everyone in it hates them. They will have to take the crowd out early, but after coming back from 21 and 14, I dont think they anyone will give up on this team.
Another guy said they will force the Saints to use plan B... lol, okay, thats fine... thats what we do. We've had like 18 different players score touchdowns this year. Drew is an equal opprotunity passer.
The more and more I keep thinking about this game, I think we can blow you guys out, well... atleast win by 14.
Posted: 11/25/2009 9:23 AM
I am not gonna call blow-out because our secondary is so banged up and Moss and Welker should run rampid if your O-line gives Brady enough time.
I call 45-38 Saints

If any team gets blown out, I think it will be the Patriots. They have been beating up on bad teams, and I think their defense will be exposed this week. I think they CAN win, I just don't think they will. All of the Patriots losses this year were to teams with a winning record ( at least at the time, Jets obviously aren't that good now ). I wouldn't be shocked if New England can pull out the win, I just don't see it.

Our defense has only been bad against teams with monster running backs. I don't think you have a running back quite like the teams of the last four games we played did. Even then our defense still gave us an opportunity to win the game.
I see this game going back and forth and all of us dying of heart attacks in the end.
Posted: 11/25/2009 5:52 PM
Hi everyone! Not sure but I believe all in all the Patriots pass more than they run the ball? Our pass rush is pretty good and even without our starting Corner - assuming he won't play which is likely - we are loaded at both, talent and experience and we are going to need it all assuming that you guys are going to line up in 4 wide receiver sets. We'll see what Gregg Williams comes up with on game day, I'm sure he's got tons of tricks and varieties we're going to play. I'm hoping that Ellis comes back it looks good right now,
While our defense has done an outstanding job imo, we haven't played up to expectations on offense lately, We got our running game going, spread the ball around and our o-line played a great game last week but then again we played against a Tampa Bay team that was sometimes looking completely lost on the field. We struggled a bit against Atlanta, and we also struggled against the Rams.
Lol Valdyr at the comment on the heart attacks, I think I too have had many of those lately lol!
It's a Monday night game in our house and we can expect some noise. The players should be pumped to play against the Patriots, the fans will be loud, and Williams and Payton will be prepared, so to me the chances for a victory over the Patriots are good

Garbage, they should have beated the Colts. They totally out played the Colts. They were not in synch offensively at the begining of the year and still could have beaten the Jets and Broncos. They are in synch now and this is a must win.

Your offense is good, but not as good as the Saints. Running is heavily in the Saints favor. Also, Saints WR core with Shockey is lethal especially on play-action. Saints have had the best offense the past two seasons for a reason.

In regards to the post from royal4ever. Lets look at the season stats shall we.
Passing favors NE and rushing favors NO that being said NE had had two top running backs out for most of the season morris, taylor Passing favors NE that being said your secondary is banged up with a lor of injuries. Conclusion both teams are evenly matched in regards to offensive play. We shall see who will win monday night but i got to tell you this will be a great game and no one will be getting blown out.

Gumbothekid ~ There's a little 'noleens in there. Read your own posts do you? You "hedge" your prediction(sp) a number of times, sorta like setting yourself up for an I told you so. I know you are a NEP Fan yet I am still not certain who you think will win.
NE's up-start D is getting better and better yet, does have a way to go. Statistically they are improving. On the field they are improving.
I have a difficult time with your use of the term "expose" their D. How? You are aware that their D is in a re-building phase, rite?May I make a bold prediction by saying the team that scores the most points will win this puppy!!
My money, mouth and loyalty are with NE to win this one. It's ok to wonder why I would pick them over a very, very good football club. > No PM
This will be their signature game.
