Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
Here we go again. Another Division game against another tough team in the Dolphins. I just hope the Pats play with the same intensity as they did in the second half of the Thursday night game against the Jets.

I say it every week (and every week it has been true).
The more physical team will win.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
Your Oline got handled last week, especially koppen against jenkins. What the hell happened to your offensive line from last year to this year? Oh this is no doubt about to be a slugfest. Im not even taking the game earlier into account and neither are the players. Everyone knows this is going to be a close game right here, with both teams playoff hopes largely hinging on this game. Eitherway its amazing how much more competitive the afc east is this year, one has to wonder how competitive it would be if brady didnt shred his knee.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
It's not yet a "must-win" situation, but it's pretty close to it. I still have faith in the Jets choking in December, but the Pats have to get serious this week.

The Pats need to get serious period. If the Dolphins win this week they not only go to 7-4 but they also go up 3-1 in the Division along with the Jets and the Pats drop to 2-3. I'd say the Miami and the Buffalo games are both "must win" games. The Pats can not afford to lose either of those two games. Right now even the WC could be a reach if the Pats don't win this week. I think the Colts beat the Chargers and the Ravens beat Philly. That not only puts the Colts and Ravens at 7-4 but it also puts them at 7-3 and 6-3 in the conference and the Pats at 4-5 (with a loss to th Phins) with only 3 AFC teams left to play. And one of them is Pittsburg. And lets not forget the Bills here. Although they're at 5-5 they play the Chiefs and 49ers the next two weeks followed by the Dolphins and the Jets which could put them right back in the race. I know the Pats need to take it one week at a time but lets look at the Big picture here. (which I'm sure BB is with only 6 games left) The Pats need W's or they'll not only lose the Division but they could miss out on a WC also.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
The Pats should be flying high for this, and with what amounts to a mini-bye to get ready should have a great game plan in effect.
A win here puts them right back in the drivers seat. The Jets play the Titanics and the likely outcome is a tie for the Division title. I'll say 31 - 17 Pats.

I'm not so sure about that, although I'd like to think so. But the Titans are waaay overdue for a loss and the J.E.T.S. might just be the team that gives it to them.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
Agree Div, - the Titans are not likely to go undefeated the whole season, and NY is flying high at the moment. I hope they have a flame out, but wouldn't bet on it here. Truth is the Pats have less & less wriggle room every game now. The may not be totally boxed in, - yet, but need "just about" every game.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
The Titanics finish with Pittsburgh and Indy @Indy. They won't be undefeated. They won't lose to the Jets either. The Jets offense is tailor made for this defense. Farve will have to air it out...and that should be bad news.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
I agree with Gino, you would almost thinks the Jets won the SuperBowl last week the way their fans reacted. The Titans will knock old Brett around and force a couple of picks. The Pat's need this game this week in a big way. I like the fact that the Pat's have had some extra time to prepare, I hope it translates into better play calling on the O side of the ball. No news on Thomas and if they are thinking he will be back at some point this season?

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
This is a must win game for the Patriots. I know it has been said in this thread before however if the Patriots lose this game on Sunday verses the Dolphins, there goes the playoffs chances because the Patriots will be DONE. Lose this game and they don't make the playoffs. It will be time to talk about position in next years NFL draft.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
I hope we get all our RB's back and the defense can review the latest Dolphin's games so they won't be surprised again.
One big difference this time, though, is our offense is capable of coming back now. It wasn't the first time these teams met.
The reason I don't say a loss is the end of the playoff hopes is that certain green-wearing teams have a tendency to choke in December, whereas the Pats generally play their best football once the snow starts flying. The Pats need to take the division, though, plain and simple. A Wild Card is too risky to count on this year.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
Wow what a strange NFL year. Who would have thought the Dolphins 1-15 last year, and the Pats after losing Brady, Harrison, Maroney, A.Thomas etc. would be battling it out to be tied for the lead in the AFC east after week 12? (Jets lose to the Titans this week) You guys get a slight advantage w/ having so many days off. Should be a great game and I'm interested to see what new wrinkles Henning breaks out for our offense this week. They've done something new each and every week and it's seemed to work each week.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. - division on the line??? ...
That "Dancing with the Stars" twinkletoes Warren Sapp thinks New England Patriots' backup QB Matt Cassel is doing a fine job replacing the injured Tom Brady . "He's holding the ship real well," the retired pigskin prince told our Left Coast spies. However, the former University of Miami Hurricane says Sunday's tilt against the Dolphins is do-or-die. "That's the game," said Sapp. "That will decide the division." -- Boston Herald

Re: Official Game 11 thread. - division on the line??? ...
Jets have only one division loss, so even if they lose to Tenn the Pats will still be in second place.
We all know how dominate the Pats have been after a bye week under BB. This is not exactly a bye, but there is extra time. I hope it pays off.

They are playing a lot better - just some tough breaks or they'd be 8-2. Plus the injuries every week it seems.

If the Jets lose and the Pats win they'll both be 7-4, Jets 3-2 Pats 3-2 in the Division. And all 3 will be 5-4 in the Conference.

Vabthang is correct the Jet's only have one division lose. And that is too the Patriots. The Patriots have two division loses to the Jets and Dolphins. Technically the Jets will be in first because they only have one division lose.

It aint over 'til its over.
The numbers say its close to dead even, and theres a lot of season left to play.
But a Tuna win would be rough to have to take.
Very rough to have to take.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
I am so sorry i started a thread asking you fans about the predictions on the wildcat and how the Pats will react to it this time around. I didnt kno it was such a big deal that everything must be discussed in this Exact thread. So, therefore, what is your predictions for this sunday when Ronnie Brown gets into the Wildcat?

I think its funny that you guys have been using, Faulk,Heath, and Green to simulate Ronnie,Ricky, and Cobbs.
Im sorry but what planet is Heath evans comparable to ricky? Faulk is not as powerful as ronnie but is playing his position in the formation, I dont know Ben Green but i dont think he's the player cobbs is to us.
I just think its funny faulk comments" We are not ronnie,Ricky, and Patrick but we can show these guys there gamespeed on defense" LMAO!

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
By the way what do you think the biggest rivalry in the AFC East is for you guys? Is it against the phin,Jets,or Bills. I know for us the Jets or the Patriots are the biggest rivalies number 1 and 2, with buffalo taking a back seat for about a decade.

They use the guys they have available to use. It's not like they can call Ronnie and Ricky up and ask them to come up and practice with them for the week. It's more about practicing against the plays and the formations than about who's running them, just so everybody knows what they are supposed to do when they face it.

This is one of the funniest posts I have ever read. Gonzorot apparently sincerely and truly believes in his own mind that whether its during the week, or in the games, that the Pats coaching staff believes that certain players are in fact OTHER PLAYERS ! Gonzorot this isnt a video game you are discussing is it ? .
He must think that Faulk, Evans, etc, put on Dolphins player masks or put on a Miami jersey on with Williams, Brown, etc numbers on them, and go about sincerely pretending that they are,,,,,"them" and that the Pats defense must call them by their names or something.
How ridiculous can you get ?
TN bursted that poor guys balloon pretty quickly there, ( or worse,,,maybe he didnt ! )
Gonzorot thanks for that laugh, I suggest you stop hallucinating asap.

Dude i understand they are not the players I was simply stating that the guys they got to practice the wildcat have no where near the same attributes as our RB's. Its the equivelant of the celtics gameplanning for Lebron james by using Brian Scalabrine running lebrons plays. Its okay itll show when ricky runs the ball sunday, Bruschi and Co are gonna have to hurry their azzes up a lil more then they do for heath evans.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
Faulk is reasonably equal to Brown in this type of situation. He's a heady vet, who's handled direct snaps many times. He can and has thrown. Obviously he can run and catch. Green-Ellis has been a real surprise. He's this years' version of Patrick Cobbs, who was originally signed by the Pats. I'd actually say as a rookie Green-Ellis is superior. Evans is a lumbering load, but if run with the other 2, I think it's reasonable facsimile
....In fact they may actually run it. If Morris is healthy I'd assume he's be part of it in a game.

Re: Official Game 11 thread. Patriots vs. Dolphins.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Pats use the Wildcat themselves. With Faulk especially. BJGE is a little too much a rookie, but who knows ... BB has a way of bringing the greatness out in players so maybe they'll surprise people with a direct snap to him too. Evans is a load, yup. But he can break big plays if he gets some room to build up some speed because he is such a load to bring down. Looks like Morris will play as he's no longer on the injury report - and he's a Wildcat option too.
Should be an interesting game.
