Pro Football Pick'em.
It's back. Click here after reading below to be taken to where you would sign up. Open to everyone regardless of whether your a Patriots fan or not. | Group ID#: | 18063 | | Group Password | nep |
See the poll questions The object of Pro Football Pick'em is to accumulate as many points as possible by correctly picking the winning team in each of the games played during the regular season. Each of your wins will count as one point in a basic group, or multiple points if we use *confidence points. Weekly points are tallied, and the player finishing with the highest season total wins the group. Please remember that when point spreads are involved, picking the winning team may not result in a correct selection. If the team you select is favored by 10 points, they have to win by at least 11 points for your pick to be accurate. If you believe a 10-point favorite will win by fewer than 10 points (or lose outright), you should select the underdog to win the game if your group uses point spreads. *What are Confidence Points?Confidence Points are used to give a different weight to each game in a given week. You'll assign a point value (from 1 to 15 if there are 15 games, 1 to 14 if there are 14 games, etc.) to each game based on how strongly you feel about the accuracy of your pick. If your pick is correct, you'll receive points equal to the confidence-point value you associated with that game. So, if you pick Pittsburgh to beat Dallas and assign the game a confidence point value of 15, you'd get 15 points for a correct pick, but no points if Dallas wins. You don't lose points for an incorrect pick. Each week's points will be tallied, and the player finishing with the highest total at the end of the year will be the winner of the group. Each confidence point value may be used only once per week. So, during a 15-game week, after you've assigned 15 points to a game, your next highest available value is 14 points.
If you are from another board when sign up let us know which board you are from or your favorite team. example (Morpheus- NE Pats) (FanofFootball - Raiders)
Would you like to use confidence points?

RE: Pro Football Pick'em.
Sigh, I hate doing these, but if JS is going to do the fantasy league I might as well do the pickem league.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see we're doing it against the spread this year which makes it much more interesting. Glad we've made that change.

Re: Pro Football Pick'em.
We make picks using the spread each week. Picks are due 5 minutes before the first game of the week. That means for a game on Thursday (like this week) you have to have all of your picks in 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the game.

RE: Pro Football Pick'em.
I got slightly hosed on the Patriots pick. I made my picks when the line was at 16 or so. When there was a question mark on Brady's status, they took the game off the board. Yahoo apparently interprets taking a game off the board as making it a pickem so I got hosed.

RE: Pro Football Pick'em.
I got hosed in one of my fantasy leagues. I choose Thomas Jones as my RB instead of Willis Mc. When I looked Yahoo had Willis. I lost the game by 2 points. Willis scored zero and Jones scored 16.

RE: Pro Football Pick'em.
Starting the wrong guy at fantasy football is my forte. I always over think things and make the wrong pick without question. I draft great teams and then leave wins on my bench every other week.
