PC Cops after Dungy

PC Cops after Dungy

I'm hardly a Dungy fan but the way he's being slammed is disgusting.

Tony Dungy was asked by a reporter if he'd have drafted Michael Sam.  He gave a truthful response TTE Sam has a right to play in the league, but he would not have drafted him because of the media circus around him. This is essentially because Sam is not a good enough football player to warrant dealing with the sideshow.

It's been a sideshow since Sam came out and the O Network's live coverage of a 7th round pick and ESPN prominently showing it.  It's shouldn't be a big deal since there have been about half a dozen known gay players in the league before this.

Now all the PC cops are coming out about him being a hypocritical because he backed Michael Vick's return after the dog fighting drama. His background of being anti-gay, and not accepting his son's sexuality etc.  All of which is probably true, but has nothing to do with him answering a question honestly.

Just pure hypocritical nonsense from the PC cops

I totally agree with you and it just makes you shake your head

I am so tired of the PC police. They went after the Giants yesterday for hiring David Tyree into an exec position because he is against gay marriage and spoke out a few years ago

These groups wanna fight hate with hate and they think it is ok. If you disagree with them they don't think you should be allowed to work anywhere.

I said it before, not sure what has happened the last 5-7 years but if you disagree with the wrong cause you are just ruined

My take is Dungy never should have said anything in the first place.  Nothing good is going to come out of commenting on it, regardless of what his opinion is.  The media and other folks are just waiting for stuff like this.

At some point folks are going to have had enough and someone prominent is going to call these "activists" on their hypocrisy. There's real racism and bigotry in the world - the kind where people get shot by the roadside - like what happened just a month ago in Northern Iraq. But this petty crap don't even come close to making the cut.

+1

It aggravates me how people get run through the gauntlet for having an opinion.

I have no problem with gays(my older sister is gay) but if any of you say you don't believe in it because of religion(or u just think it's gross) that is your right.. Nobody should crucify you for not agreeing with them or labeling you something you arent!!

Fox joins the PC cops...

EEI was "forced" into suspending Kirk Minihane over comments he made about Erin Andrews of Fox. Fox objected to his comments.  They had been discussing dopy Erin Andrews replacing the very competent Pam Oliver as a sideline reporter and he essentially called her a "dumb bitch"

Dunno but if you've seen her "work" like post WS "interviews" grabbing the mike from Bud Selig and worse, and the post NFCCG with Richard Sherman... she kinda proved Minihane's point.

Minihane is no great shakes himself btw.

Well they're both media bitches willing to do what it takes to stay relevant, make more money and play the media game. Pretty smart way to make a buck if you enjoy that type of thing they do.. She is more look at me and listen to this great game info I have. Him, look at me or listen to how contrarian and passionate I can be about it. Kirk is the best at raising his voice and thinking louder means you're right in debates.... She just seems more like... look at me.. look at me...Or network says... look at her...look at her. ...imo...lol

Erin was the one asking the Dick in Seattle... Sherman that is, why he was mad at Crabtree after the NFC Championship game...lmao!
She also got secretly filmed nude and is damaged for life because of it..

The problem was that it was asked in an interview. Dungy gave a honest answer and is being slammed. What I find hypocritical on the media's part is that this same thing was said about Tebow and it was no big deal. Teams didnt want Tebow and the media circus and no one bats an eye, but insert a gay man instead of a christian and its front page news.

If there was nothing else happening in the world, I could just shrug and go: "Eh, it's summer, nothing else to report on." But there are a ton more important things going on than if some semi-retired NFL coach wouldn't draft a gay player who under normal circumstances wouldn't have been drafted at all; and who further behaved in a way which validated said coaches opinion to begin with.

Re: PC Cops after Dungy

Come now Tebow wasn't the modern day Jackie Robinson like Sam... (well Robinson was actually the first, so  he didn't have to come out, cuz they'd have figured that out.)  But Sam did come out,( after at least half a dozen NFL players where well known to be gay, and most likely dozens were not so open.) But he did come out and Opera did make sure she had a camera in his house.
