It's a fluid situation, but New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's surgically repaired knee looks to be on the mend as scheduled with no setbacks whatsoever..
While the team won't offer any kind of timetable for his return, the NFL Network's Albert Breer is reporting that 'the goal is for Gronkowski to be on the field for the season opener at Miami.'.
It has also been speculated that he could be available for some portion of training camp, although the Patriots will likely be very cautious with that..
Per Chris Wesseling: '... It's possible that Gronk's knee will be ready for the start of training camp in late July, Breer reported on Friday's edition of NFL Total Access, but the Patriots won't do anything to jeopardize his chances of being ready for Week 1. - After listening to the past month's manufactured debate that he is no longer an elite quarterback, a hyper-motivated Tom Brady has to be ecstatic that his difference-making go-to target is on track to resume NFL dominance in September.
