Bama's Kouandjio, FSU's Jernigan, Auburn Mason enters Draft

PASADENA, Calif. -- Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel told ESPN on Monday afternoon he is still undecided whether to return next season or declare for the NFL draft.

Manziel said he wants to meet with his family in the coming days before making a decision on his future.

Manziel was attending Monday's VIZIO BCS National Championship between Florida State and Auburn.

"I want to make the right decision that's best for me and my family," Manziel said.

Manziel has two years of eligibility remaining at A&M, but most draft analysts consider him to be a potential first-round pick if he decides to turn professional.

In his mock draft, ESPN's Todd McShay rated Manziel as the fourth overall pick, but the third quarterback after Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles.

Manziel is rated as the No. 14 player on Mel Kiper Jr.'s Big Board, and Scouts Inc. ranks him as the 22nd-best player.

The time has come..... Here's to the 2014 Season.

I haven't seen him play much this season 1 game early and in the Bowl game but they say his QB play is similar to Drew Brees.

Re: Manziel thinking about entering this years draft.

I have seen Manziel play quite a few games the last two years. He is a fantastic athlete, but not a great passer. Most of his big plays are from scrambling and broken plays. He has also had the ability to rely on Evans quite a bit at WR. I just dont see him being a good NFL QB. He is on the smaller size, has huge maturity issues, is just average when sitting in the pocket. I would say he is more like a Michael Vick than anyone else.

Potential disaster-wise Manziel = Leaf = Get what you can while you can.

Sounds like a good choice to maintain Buffalo or Cleveland level of ineptitude.

I'll be shocked if he stays in school.  I'll also be shocked if Cleveland doesn't pick him at 4.  And no, I don't think that's a good thing, either.

What if he is another Brees? I think he has a good arm.I think he will measure at least 6 feet tall

Re: Manziel thinking about entering this years draft.

He's no Brees coming out of College. IF he gets picked lower down, and IF he sits AND learns the position, and IF he learns some humility he might make it. But most likely he's the next train wreck QB out of college.

Bet SD wishes they had kept Brees?

I have this really sick feeling that Jerruh will trade up to get him. It's just the sort of PR-based idiocy he'd try.

Re: Manziel thinking about entering this years draft.

My prediction.  Manziel will falter in the NFL.  He is a glory boy and has a mouth to go with his immaturity.   The NFL is a true team sport and it will take him at least as long to come to that conclusion as it has RGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

I don't Manziel will ever be an elite QB in the NFL.  Maybe a Flacco or Ryan type,  good but not great.

Re: Manziel comes to NFL Bama's Dix, Kouandjio enters Draft

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- If Alabama is to regain its mantle as the top team in college football next season, it will have to do so without a pair of its most talented underclassmen as safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and left tackle Cyrus Kouandjio are set to enter the 2014 NFL draft, according to a source.

Both juniors are potential first-round picks.

Re: Manziel comes to NFL Bama's nix enters Draft

Wilfork may be getting up there, but watch out for him next year. I saw an article yesterday where when he got hurt he apologized to Kraft for letting the team down. That's a pretty amazing mindset when you think about it. He's going to be on a tear next season.

But ... yeah ... they need to find the next Wilfork, Seymour, etc. ... these new guys are doing well, but that's more a reflection of BB's coaching and raw natural athleticism.

Ok, I'll be the one defector. I like Manziel, lol.

Maybe he is the next Tebow or maybe he is the next Flutie, either way he is fun to watch. Now all that running around in the backfield and throwing up prayers to Mike Evans is not gonna fly in the NFL though

Re: Bama's Dix, Kouandjio, FSU's Jernigan enters Draft

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Jernigan led Florida State with 11 tackles for loss in 2013, his first year as a full-time starter, and he was regarded as a strong run stuffer up the middle. Jernigan is widely projected as a first-round selection in this year's NFL draft and is rated as the No. 7 overall player by ESPN's Scouts, Inc.

"I feel I am the most versatile defensive lineman in the draft," Jernigan told ESPN's Joe Schad. "Some team will get an athletic, hard-working lineman who attacks, plays smart and doesn't come off the field."

One GM who remained anonymous has said Manziel is the next Brett Favre. I am really curious who said that

I am wondering if the rams would take clowney.I can see the falcons switching picks with the rams and picking clowney.

The jests have alot of picks.I think this is the deepest draft I have seen in awhile. There will be talent in the later rounds

From what I've been reading, the Texans might make Keenum their starter, get rid of Schaub and take Clowney. Imagine Clowney and Watt playing together.
