BB on TT, ...

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn’t care much about evaluating his players in public, but he did give some insight about the progress quarterback Tim Tebow is making in the Patriots offense. When asked if the QB was improving Belichick replied:
.

“Oh yeah, definitely,” Belichick said, via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.
.

“I think if you look at the entire week last week, it would look different than the game did,” Belichick added. “In some cases, the game looked better for some players, and in some cases the game didn’t look as good as some other things during the week. So we’ll just have to take all that into consideration.”
.

Belichick went on to add that each player has a different skill set and that factors into how he evaluates:
.

“I think the passing game is still the passing game,” Belichick said. “But all players have different skill sets. Some guys do some things better than others. You have to look at the total package and what they’re able to do in all areas of the game. I think we see a lot of good quarterbacks in the NFL, they aren’t all maybe the best passers but their ability to run and pass, and make plays however they make them, . . . makes them a high-level player.
.

“I don’t think there is one specific style you have to have, or don’t have to have. In the end, it’s about production and being able to do enough things to be successful.”

"the passing game is still the passing game" ... thank you Professor Obvious.

Well, he's got one more chance to show he's better than he looks.

I don't think it matters.

I didn't like the decision to bring him here.  But I think, for whatever weird reason, Belichick just likes Tebow  (and so does McDaniels), and it doesn't really matter how well he plays.     I went to one Patriots Training practise (last week), and Tebow is surprisingly being used a lot out there. He's getting a whole lot of playing time (and I'm talking passing plays too).

So I think Belichick keeps him on the Roster as #3 QB.

I have problem with them keeping Tebow. He is the 3rd string QB and is a quality person. He may bring other things to the team that you dont see in the box score. He will get about as much playing time as Ryan Mallet, but at least Tebow is a great person and the fans love him. Now if he was out starting QB or even the back up, I would have a different take on the issue. But if the Patriots can keep Tavon Wilson and Steve Gregory then they can keep Tebow.
