Revis up for trade??? ...

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Jets will "explore" Darrelle Revis' trade market.
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
.
If true, there's no way the Jets would trade him within the division - let alone to the Pats.

What if the pats offered up this year's secound round pick and their first rounder next year and secound round pick. The jets need draft picks.

Probably not but i would do it without any hesitation!I could live with not having a first or second round pick next year.BB's selections in the second round have been awful.Revis is a hard worker.I am sure he will be back at 100 percent. Then they can grab a pass rusher in the first round this year.

Revis is probably out of the Pats' price range. Plus he's kind of a d-bag.

Re: Revis up for trade??? ...

Wishing for a trade to get Revis is even more of a waste of time than hoping Ed Reed will be playing for the Pats next year.  There is absolutely zero chance that the Jets would trade him to the Pats no matter what the Pats offered them.  And the Pats don't have a whole lot to offer in terms of draft picks or players anyway.

Dok ~ Again, you seem to be spot on concerning Revis. What I would like to see is Mr. QB get his 4th and most likely, his last. This cements his resume in the HOF, beside the likes of Montana.Unfortunately for him, I no longer see the draft making that much of an impact on the team. Fact is, a ton of drafts (IMO) have been busts. Getting rid of Moss was a bust, signing Ocho a bust, signing Heysworth(sp) a bust, cutting Stallworth a bust. [actually two busts} Concerning the draft. I got pizzed and pulled my draft chart off my BB and tossed it after their pathetic L recently. For this I am certain, when you trade, negotiate and steal 6 of the top 100 choices in any draft and they did it multiple times, and continue to field a defensive "B-Team" a 4th ring may be out of reach.
I hope the Welker situation nets the team something.  Revis to Washington, they have the money!

Re: Revis up for trade??? ...

Lets be fair - Moss got rid of himself. Twice in about a 6 week period. First here, and then in Minny.

Haynesworth was a low risk, high reward gamble that didn't work. Don't blame 'em for trying it and they cut their losses quick.

Ocho was a flat out mistake. Wasn't anywhere close to smart enough to play on this team. I still suspect there is more to the story of why he was kept around so long.

The drafts have gotten quite a bit better since Pioli left. Look at the way they've rebuilt the RB, TE, and LB positions in the last 3 years - all while adding young, athletic guys to the lines.

I can't imagine a scenario where the Jets would let Revis go to Foxboro. The fanbase would go postal on Rexy if that happened. It's bad enough to have to kiss BB's ring, but then handing him your best player? No way.

Moss ~ In 2008, they hardly threw in his direction with Cassell. In 2009 which was his final year, they refused to pre-negotiate a new agreement. You would be beeefed too.

Albert ~ Forget your retorical devices. Albert was a high risk signing. He panned out like a Mercury Outboard Motor, Overpriced and always broken.

Ocho ~ The book on him is he could not grasp the playbook. Another story floats around in the smoke filled back rooms of Gillett. {more to the story}

Drafts ~  Wow!! Now you have Pioli going from absolute genius to absolute mess. How we making out on that LB, you know the one who is going to be booted?

Drafts ~ The Patriot plan has been/was to near always trade down, out of the first round. Are the results of that tactic stating to kick them in the butts? Wasn't Talib a first rounder? So, you keep Talib and let Welker go into greener pastures. And, BTW,Revis is a no-no in New England.

I remember reading right here on this board, - Pioli was the "real brains" in Foxboro, - and when he left for KC the Pats were pretty much toast. - The only folks that look like toast today is KC & Pioli.

KC picking up Smith as their QB might be just what they need. I can see them making a run at the PS this year.
The time has come..... Here's to the 2014 Season.

I hope they dont make a run at the guy.. Again, he's been pretty much a d-bag (especially when concerning the pats).. He's way too pricey, and a tad overrated at this stage (he's getting burned more frequently). On top of that coming back from an ACL puts him at being potentially a bit of a liability at corner  for a portion if not an entire season if he doesnt have the welker/peterson recovery.

Revis' use of the holdout, or threat of one, should keep him off of the Pats' "to get" list. Watch him go to Philly.
