Other Games - Week 9

Bears lead Titans 28-2 after *one* quarter. I thought maybe I forgot to set a clock back or something and that was a half-time score.

Re: Other Games - Week 9

Doug Martin - 244 yds, 3 TD's - still 7 minutes to go in TB-OAK.

So, what's the line on Romo T/O's tonight? I think 3 is a solid bet - 2 INT's and a fumble.

Didn't see that one coming.

Bears 51 - Titans 20 ... that's like a Patriots' score.

Good to see the Bills and 'Phins lose - give the Pats any available breathing room.

Falcons on top of Cowgirls ... 19-13.   J.Jones is probably thinking about selling that outfit by now.

Re: Other Games - Week 9

I figured Romo would have a bad night but he was actually pretty good. But as seems usual with the Cowtoys, someone stepped up and puked up a lung onto the field - and this week it was their defense. Rob Ryan always looks like he's eaten a bad burrito. Jerruh won't likely even get to the post-season this year. Aw shucks.

Mike Smith seems to have picked up a few coaching techniques from BB - like publicly poring over penalties and mistakes on Monday morning film review. His OC needs some work, and Ryan needs to stop with the audibles because they seemed to fail every time. But ATL is a well coached team.

Jerry Jones locked out of Dallas Cowboys' locker room

.

Jerry Jones was a picture of frustration following Sunday night's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
.

It wasn't intentional, but the Dallas Cowboys owner was locked out of his team's locker room following the game. Matt Barrie of KXAS-TV in Dallas witnessed Jones pounding on the door. "It's the angriest I've seen him all year," Barrie wrote.
.

Barrie joined "NFL AM" on Monday morning to confirm the story, noting that Jones eventually made his way into the locker room to field questions from reporters. That makes sense. After all, Jones is master and commander of the Cowboys. All of this is his. He's not a man you leave on the outside looking in.
.

Jones isn't thrilled with his expensive toy at the moment. The Cowboys have been a maddening team this season, falling to 3-5 and hanging on for dear life in the NFC playoff picture. Not what Jerry had in mind.

The way Vick has played, that request may be granted sooner than later.

Maybe they could trade him for Tebow!

Maybe the Jets and Eagles can swap coaches too.

I'll be amazed if Reid is still in Philly next year. Some writers think pulling the plug now makes sense as well. [LINK]

Denver is no better this year than last with Tebow. If anyone deserves the MVP its Andrew Luck.

Heh ... there's actually a thread on the Jets board about trading Sanchez for Vick, and swapping Reid for Rex also gets mentioned.

We are in Week 10, but why can't the Patriots get guys like Butler for CB?  Returned an INT for a pick-6 for the Colts.  Surely he would be better than what the Patriots have, right?

Yeah - its absurd.  Tebow came in after Denver was 1-3 and went 7-5, leading them to the playoffs.  Manning is 5-3, with essentially the same team Tebow had, and they are calling for a MVP?  Are you kidding me?

Fortunately for him he is in the worst division in football (even worse than the AFC East) and has one real game the rest of the season.  If they don't finish 12-4, he shouldn't be even in the discussion for MVP.

They have beaten 1 team with a winning record. And just about every remaining game they have is against the dregs of the NFL.

Re: Other Games - Week 9

Funny, Stealth, but surely you recall that Butler is an ex-Pat - drafted in the 2nd round. He had an outstanding rookie season with 3 INT's. Then - all of a sudden - he was only average his second season. And then - poof - he's released.

2nd round pick - awesome rookie year - steep decline 2nd year - released.

Sound familiar?

But how many teams with a winning record did Tebow beat?  And how many teams with a winning record did he get destroyed by? And he played in that same pathetic division.

I personally don't care who wins MVP or who the experts think should win it.  But the MVP is about stats.  And Manning's putting them up.  What I do find extremely amusing, though, comparing Manning to Tebow is that one of the big arguments why Tebow didn't have better passing numbers was because he supposedly had "no good receivers".  Now this year those same receivers, with a real QB throwing to them, are all having career years.

I think the Broncos look better with Manning. Maybe not as exciting - they don't have to rely on miracle plays at the end of the game. But I'd hardly call it an MVP performance.
