MIA up 20-0 over Jets ... Jets could have had at least a FG in the last 0:45 but had it blocked. Won't be fun times for Rex tomorrow if this keeps up.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Jets getting blown out at home....again.  I've said it since the offseason - this is the worst Jets team I think I have seen in the last decade.  Thats what happens when you blow away draft picks so many years in a row.  You get stuck with an aging roster, with all the cap money obligated to a handful of players, and little quality youth or depth on the roster.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Down 27-9, Rex goes for the 2-pt conversion after the TD ... and they miss with around 7:30 to play. When the O is struggling like this, why bother?

And then they don't recover the onside kick.

MIA at the Jets 26 with 5:47 to go.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Whoa ... Browns hold on 4th down to beat Chargers 7-6. Norv!

Lions take the Seahawks 28-24.

Falcons beat Eagles 30-17, PHI drops to 3-4. At least Vick didn't throw any INT's, but I'm sure the fans will be calling for Andy Reid's head on a stick pretty soon.

Jets can't score with a 1st and 10 at the MIA 22 and 2-minutes ... and lose 30-9. Jets fall to 3-5 heading into the bye, then face SEA away.

From the Jets board:

I think Rex takes the heat big time for this in division debacle.
His mouth seemed a lot more ready for this game than his team.
Reggie Bush should apologize for the utter beating his team gave the Jets today.

If Rexy self admittedly did not have his finger on the pulse of his team last year, where is it this year? LOL!

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Also from the Jets' boards:

I have 3 young boys under the age of 4, I'll be damned if i put them through what i've been through as a Jet fan.
Perennial loser franchise, can never just get it done.
It's too late for me, them they still have a chance at possible happiness.

And ...

I, for one, hope Rex and Tanny both get fired, but I know that won't happen. Woody is a business man first, and knows what a wholesale change would entail....chaos. Sanchez is just a joke, worst starting qb in the league, by a wide margin in my humble opinion, so first, I think we have to decide if Tebow or McElroy are worth a shot....play them....you aren't making the playoffs this year, or any other year in the near future, so play them you morons......

And ...

QB change or not, the Jets are going to be handicapped by Sparano. He's a terrible play caller, terrible on time management and terrible when it comes to making adjustments. Boneheaded move to hire him. He belongs in the high school ranks.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

They're real and they're spectacular

1. I've been saying for weeks that I would love the Miami Dolphins to sneak into the No. 6 seed in the AFC. It will be harder if quarterback Ryan Tannehill is seriously hurt, but the Dolphins30-9 beatdown was a big step for them. Miami has played well up front on both sides of the ball all year.
.

2. One week after running tentatively through injury, Trent Richardson carried the Cleveland Browns to a 7-6 victory over the San Diego Chargers with 122 yards and a score in muddy conditions. Jim Brown approves.
.

3. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck pulled off a 14-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to force overtime, then a nine-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to defeat the Tennessee Titans in overtime, 19-13. This is not a good Colts team. They are proof of the AFC's mediocrity and Luck's excellence. He makes his offensive teammates better.
.

4. On balance, this New England Patriots team is better than it was a year ago. The offense remains just as explosive, and it has a running game. Quarterback Tom Brady's two tackles -- Sebastian Vollmer and Nate Solder -- pulled off another fantastic performance against the St. Louis Rams' pass rush duo in a dominating, 45-7 win. The defense isn't great, but it's better. Dropping five touchdowns on their first five possessions against a quality Rams defense in London was very impressive by Brady and the boys.
.

5. Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings' ridiculous season continued in a 23-22 victory over the Carolina Panthers. After two more picks Sunday and a decisive touchdown, Jennings has six interceptions and 13 passes defensed on the year.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

From @FitzyGFY: My buddy Jordan said they shoulda named hurricane Sanchez, not Sandy. Then no risk of a touchdown in NYC.

Oh, and Rex gave the Jets the entire week off.

Sometimes it's not so much WHO you play, but WHEN you play them.  Oh, and it doesn't help to shank an easy FG that would have won the game.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Hopefully the Jets keep Sanchez as their starter & the Chargers keep Norv right where he is. - That eliminates two teams from being any real threats to anyone.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Funny thing is I think Rexy may be in more danger of being canned than Norv. If the Jets end up going 7-9 or 6-10, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull the plug on the "circus." Especially if they end up 3rd in the division behind the 'Phins. Or worse still, last place in the division. I think that'd force some kind of move.

Norv is lucky that the AFC-W is on average suckier than his coaching abilities.

Re: Other Games - Week 8

Wow. The Chiefs are a mess. They're -20 T/O differential after tonight. The record is -30, last set in '65 by the Steelers. The worst in the modern era was the 2000 Chargers at -28.

Romeo is cooked in KC. So is Cassel. So is Pioli, most likely.

So much for "Foxboro west", - another group, once out of the nest ... can't fly on their own. - BB is the "operations manager" in more ways than one - one of the VERY best.

What I wouldn't give to have Romeo back next season. He did a good job as DC in KC.
