Cassie Harberts

Is it true. Don't think Charly is very happy about now.

Re: Cassie Harberts

I heard the rumor last week and sort of laughed it off.  If it is true, I hope she's finally at peace with the choice.  It's been suggested that the recent stories of EDD and her attachment to her disabled sister are causes in this newest chapter in the Cassie Harberts recruiting saga.

Re: Cassie Harberts

The choice may be Mr. Cooper. And I don't believe she has a disabled sister. Her brother had health issues.

Re: Cassie Harberts

EDD has the disabled sister and spoke of her difficulty being away from her.  I can imagine that Cassie read this recent article and saw herself in it.

Re: Cassie Harberts

Now USC's recruitng for 2009 is:

Marinacci ESPN#35

Orekhova ESPN #40

Tagalicod NR by ESPN but #171 by ASGR

For 2010

Harberts ESPN#11

Bradley ESPN #35

Southall ESPN #99

White NR by ESPN but #157 by ASGR

Something about the school attracts recruits

Re: Cassie Harberts

wow, I knew Inga Orenkhova was MIA at Northwestern....but I didn't know she was heading to USC?

and Cassie Harberts...if this ends up being true, im not totally shocked to be honest.  after committing early to USC, I was surprised they weren't even in her finalists second time around.

USC is still in the mix for Suriya McGuire...and if her other schools are correct (Kansas, Miami (FL), and Rutgers) I like USC's chances.  And she's guard.

Poor Charli.  Funny that USC has gotten two de-commitments -- Bradley and now Harberts.

Are they recruiting anyone else from 2010 besides McGuire the PG from Minnesota?

Re: Cassie Harberts

This would make a good soap.

USC is benefiting from kids who cannot make up their minds or haven't done all the requirements most schools need. From what happened on the summer circuit I don't think it came from their recruiting abilities.

I read the ESPN link but if you regretted not making an official why not wait and take an official before commiting, especially considering the track record. Maybe Handles will add this to his list on problems with kids making knowledgable decisions.

I guess we wil never understand the mind process of a teanager.

Re: Cassie Harberts

Well, good for Cassie for making the decision she felt most comfortable with and kudos to CTT for not making a big deal about it.

Life can indeed be tough for a 16-17 yo girl.

Re: Cassie Harberts

While Cassie's decommitment is a blow to ASU, I don't imagine it caused much collateral damage.  Take Jackie Gemelos with UCONN...she committed early and I imagine UCONN passed on other guards in her class and recruited around her for quite some time.  So her decommitment probably left more of a void for them.

Re: Cassie Harberts

Story on HG, a lot from the mother and states father pressure but can someone confim that she actually took 4 visits, I looked back and could only see information on 2.

What say you Handles, I feel this is a great example for your book!!!!

Re: Cassie Harberts

I'm just catching up on the Harberts news but I'm glad she made the decision that was best for her as a future student-athlete at USC. I'm sure she will have a good career and it's nice that she had the support of her mother. Seems like she was living other's dreams by giving ASU a verbal.

I think you're 180 degrees out of phase.

USC doesn't get McGuire (Miami does)

USC was in the mix for #16 player on Hoopgurlz,  point guard from Minnesota  Suriya McGuire
