Flacco ties another record
Flacco has tied a franchise record for pass completions in a game at 80 percent for the day. I'm not sure who he tied but just saw the stat on NFL Network
Joe Flacco will take us to the promised land.

It won't be too long before we rename the quarterback section of the Ravens' record book, "Joe Flacco's Career Statistics."

Interesting.....It didn't look like he would have a great day with the start he got off to, but he settled in really well. Not a lot of big plays, but he did what he needed to do against this tough Broncos D and didn't turn it over.

He kept throwing the ball high, I thought for sure that would lead to a couple of picks.

On the way home heard them talking on 105.7 that in the last few series Flacco went 14 for 14 tying Grbacs record!

It was on the scoreboard too, my son took a picture of it--he took about 200 today after the rain quit.

The guy ended the game 14 / 14... Just sick.

RE: Flacco ties another record
Yeah. Don't forget that he had 3 passes in a row dropped. They weren't really straight up "dropped", they just simply weren't caught.
He then had that incomplete pass with the obvious(but not called) defensive pass interference on D Mason.
Then he had that ball that he threw too high for Clayton.
So out of the five incompletions, only one was his fault.
I understand it is a bit of a stretch, but isn't it nice to be able to talk about whether he had an 80 or a 96% completion percentage after the game?
Oh Ramona, If there was only something between us... other than our clothes.

RE: Flacco ties another record
I think he was off on that one pass to Heap, but he was unbelievable today! He stayed totally composed, took what the defense gave him, and made some absolutely amazing throws. One of the commentators said something about Flacco and Rice being knockout first and second round picks. I have to say, after this game it's hard to imagine any team in the league beating us right now. I cannot wait till Cincinnatti!

RE: Flacco ties another record
just a note..... Joe Flacco is ahead of Matt Ryan in every possible category at this point. Not that Ryan can't pass him after tomorrow night....but I think it's interesting to point out. Flacco 1849 yards, 264.1 ypg, 66% comp., 12 TDs, 5 INT, 95.6 overall rating Ryan 1360 yards, 226.7 ypg, 62.8% comp., 11 TDs, 6 INT, 90.2 overall rating does it mean anything? no. is it fun to point out and chat about? sure!

RE: Flacco ties another record
I'd say it means something.
It seems like it's popular thought among NFL "analysts" and fans that Ryan is clearly better than Flacco.
I think Ryan is a very good QB, but I don't think it's clear cut at all. I won't say Flacco is better than Ryan, but Joe's superior statistics, with less receiving weapons, is telling.
I'm tired of the assumption that Ryan is somehow head and shoulders above Joe. I don't see it. They're both good, and we don't always need to compare them, but Joe is balling this season. And he 'aint got no Roddy White to throw to.

The analyst are starting to take notice. Deion Sanders said on NFLN that Joe Flacco has taken that step above Matt Ryan. Everyone else agreed with him.

RE: Flacco ties another record
Matt Ryan is a very, very good quarterback. But his ceiling isn't as high as Flacco's. He simply doesn't have the physical abilities Joe has. Ryan came into the league more polished, but Joe has shown that his mental abilities are just as good as Ryan's.
Flacco's potential is almost unlimited. I've tried really hard to come up with a list of his weaknesses, but there simply aren't that many to mention. He throws high sometimes. Occasionally he throws off his back foot. Sometimes he doesn't see open receivers. Is there really much else? All of that is pretty nit-picky, anyway. And it's all correctable.
If he's this good already, imagine where he'll be in two years.

RE: Flacco ties another record
he also had Ray Rice make a spectacular diving catch. I'm pretty sure if you asked Joe he'd say "you win some and lose some" Bleedpurple37 wrote: Yeah. Don't forget that he had 3 passes in a row dropped. They weren't really straight up "dropped", they just simply weren't caught.

RE: Flacco ties another record
I loved in the 4 quarter when Joe knew he was going to be sacked, he cradled the ball with two arms and went down gently. It was inevitable, but he did not force it, he protected the ball. After so many years of pure crap at the QB position for whatever reason, it is so nice to have a real one.

RE: Flacco ties another record
There was one point yesterday during the 1st half (?), where we came to the line (no-huddle), Flacco audibled with 10 seconds left on the clock, and we actually changed the formation at the line, calmly snapping the ball with 3 seconds left. You could almost sense that Denver's D rocked back on their heals for that play, trying to adjust. I had to pinch myself and make sure it wasn't a dream. Just think about where we'll be in another year.

Re: Flacco ties another record
In 1996, our inaugural season, we took two players in the first round who eventually went on to be cornerstones of the franchise and helped win a superbowl. Those two players, Ogden and Lewis, are both two of the best to play their positions. We call that draft one of the best ever. If that draft was #1, could last year's draft selections of Flacco and Rice go down as maybe like a 1B? Time will tell, but it looks like they are going to be our offensive lightning and thunder for years to come. If we get that #1 receiver over the next couple of years, just imagine what this offense will do with the line that is also forming.
