and......it starts kapron lewis Moore goes down

Laconfora:
Ravens promising DL Kapron Lewis-Moore carted off the field. He appeared very distraught. One of several guys to go down today

A wilson:Kapron Lewis-Moore carted off the field with what appears to be a serious leg/knee injury. In obvious pain, said, "No!" loudly heading off

That makes two down on the DL, since Urban is already gone for the season. So much for the talk about the Ravens promising young defensive line this season. Starting to look like Cody will be a lock to make the team.

There is something to be said for Billick's approach of limiting full contact scrimmages, particularly in the preseason. Doesn't do the team much good if a bunch of people you thought would be on the field for you in the regular season are on crutches instead.

Of all the positions at which the Ravens might suffer multiple injuries, this was the one.  Ngata, Williams, Canty, Tyson, Jernigan, Cody, McPhee is still a solid group.

Two guys Urban and Moore were apparently going to contribute a lot this year.  I had high hopes for them. What a shame.

That really sucks. Especially since Achilles are so hard to recover from. He'll just be getting back into football shape this time next year.

Hopefully it's a small tear like what Suggs had. But even he hasn't  gotten back to pre-injury form.

Where are all of these Achilles tears coming from?

It seems like a recent trend. Is it from ineffective strength training? Steroids that strengthen muscles at the expense of tendons? Maybe the latter followed by the former?

Got to be one of those omen things as Brisco Darlin would say. Orioles can't seem to keep their young pitching prospects from arm injuries and Ravens with the Achilles tears.

I`m sure quinolones aren`t the only medicinal compounds out there that have side effects that are unintended....or even realized yet in the medical community......they say these compounds can cause problems  months after the course is finished...

Not that either of these injured guys were ahead of DeAngelo Tyson, but he (Tyson) is going to see more snaps this year. I also believe that Ozzie and Kokinis are keeping a close watch for five tech guys that are in a numbers game with other franchises. I'd love to have a veteran guy on this team now, a Corey Redding type.  An Art Jones type, 261695.gif Brett Keisel?

I went back and watched the preseason game.  Watching the defensive line play during the 3rd quarter, I kept noticing number 95 pushing the line of scrimmage and making plays.  So, I went and took a look at the roster to see which guy was 95.  Of course, it was Kapron Lewis-Moore.  He really looked good to me and this is just a shame.

The defensive front is taking a hit at DE, Urban and now Lewis-Moore. Hopefully all goes well with their rehab, and there both back here next season stronger than ever.

You like to enter the season healthy as can be. It's a good bet there will be some injuries over a 16 game season. You just have to hope the injuries are not serious, or are at positions with some depth. Haven't heard Jackson's status yet. But DB and OT seem to be the thinnest part of the roster, not to mention QB (knock on wood).

A couple of big uglies are on the team as UDFA. I believe one is from VT, Derrick Hopkins and the other from Temple Levi Brown. They have just seen their chances of staying around longer grow..

Interesting.  I thought the Achilles injures were very high this year across camps.

My question is with McPhee...so we moved him to OLB last year which i always thought was a curious move...he is still listed there...I know we always kick him down to the D-line in sub packages so these 'labels' really dont matter, but I think we need to scrap working him out as a OLB in our base package and get him back to being a more prominant part of the defensive line rotation

i think we should, can be ok, we still have some depth. its bad to lose young guys for the season, but it gives others a chance to step-up, get reps. maybe there is a diamond in the rough.
