Brendon Ayanbadejo says he 'can't really respect' Patriots' offensive style
By Aaron WilsonThe Baltimore Sun8:10 p.m. EST, January 13, 2013
Providing a bit of bulletin-board material before the New England Patriots even officially finished off the Houston Texans to reach the AFC championship game, special-teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo delivered a shot at the Ravens' next opponent.
"New England does some suspect stuff on offense," Ayanbadejo wrote on his verified Twitter account. "Can't really respect it. Comparable to a cheap shot b4 a fight. Are you watching the game pats vs texans? If so you see the hurry snap offense catch em b4 they set up. It's a gimmick. "Their offense is good enough to be successful with out that. .. In a sport that is predicated on mano y mano, lets hurry up n snap it = [expletive]" The Ravens lost to the Patriots in the AFC title game last season.
The Patriots' formidable offense is headlined by quarterback Tom Brady, who passed for three touchdowns and 344 yards during Sunday's win over the Texans.
The Patriots piled up 457 yards of total offense and 24 first downs.
Not content to just rip the Patriots' offensive strategy, which is predicated by a lot of quick throws by Brady, Ayanbadejo also referenced New England's Spygate controversy and releasing wide receiver Tiquan Underwood last year one day before the Super Bowl.
"You know the same organization that did spygate and cut a guy the day b4 the Super Bowl," Ayanbadejo wrote.
It's unlikely that Patriots coach Bill Belichick will react to Ayanbadejo's comments, but they're sure to find their way to the Patriots' locker room as a bit of motivational fuel heading into a rematch of last year's AFC title game.

BA should be stroking the Pats ego at this point, not poking them with a stick.

He needs to worry more about staying in his lane and less about talking **** about a team that beat the Ravens last year.

Just like in the last election, Ayanbadejo needs to keep his mouth shut.

His play yesterday was embarrassing on the 2 Holliday TD's and these comments are even worse. Shut up and just play special teams and remember how to stay in your lane better next Sunday.

Re: Brendon Ayanbadejo says he 'can't really respect' Patriots
Ayanbadejo should just shut his trap, especially after the special team performance that he capitans btw, against the Broncos. His play has really deteriorated. I've noticed constant penalties and missed assignments when he plays, and it's apparent age is weakening his effectiveness.
I detest players who show their ignorance and also arrogance.
Just play strong, with passion and heart, stop the childish commentaries he's not qualified to provide.
Let's not add fuel to the grist.
Go Ravens

Just cut this dude already. If Ray, or Ed doesnt come out of their mouth with nonsense like this, no ST bum damn sure has a right to speak out, especially when his ass was handed to him in the win yesterday.
Why is it that its the bums that talk the most smack???? None of the Superstars do it.

Re: Brendon Ayanbadejo says he 'can't really respect' Patriots
While I agree with what most of Ayanbadejo said, he needs to just keep his opinion within the locker room. I mean, Hell, most of the players in the NFL hate the Patriots and think the same thing as the fans do regarding spygate.

It would be a whole lot better for the story all week to be how much of a cake walk it will be for the Patriots. Let the media feed that hype and let the Patriots start believing the hype the way the Broncos did. Why try to stir them up with this crap? Keep your eyes on the prize BA, not on the BS.

What an absolutely moronic thing to bring up this week !!!!!!!!!!
Shut up and play jackass. Instead of watching New England, you should have been watching tape of our game showing you running out of your lane.................TWICE.
This crap doesn't normally bother me, but I would much rather us stay low key and let the media fawn all over New England this week. Ayanbadejo now has this plastered all over ProFootballTalk, which now means every news service will pick it up.
I like us below the radar.

Re: Brendon Ayanbadejo says he 'can't really respect' Patriots
I could not believe that question 6 was running his mouth. Tom Brady should throw his way, but that would be pretty diffficult to throw at the bench. He can't cover kicks, misses tackles and is too busy chumming with Martin O Malley than blowing up on special teams. Can't wait til we get that 900k off the books. Messed up thing is everyone agrees with his takes, just not the messenger.

SpankyJohnson wrote: Question 6 punked out, he should have rode with his statement. Now he looks, well, like nevermind! OK, we get it, Spanky. You don't like BA's stance on gay marriage. "Question 6" (no less than 3 times on this thread) - yes, we get jokes. Try to keep such nonsense on the Politics/Current Events board. Not everyone here prescribes to Matt Birk's views, either, but this isn't the forum for such debates/comments.

Whatever dude. His public opinions are germane to the thread. If he was doing his job like Matt Birk and not running his mouth, this would be a non issue. Question 6 has proven he can't run his mouth and perform.

His stupid anti-Patriots tweets are a separate issue altogether. And before the Denver game, weren't our special teams among the league's best? I think BA has done OK "running his mouth and performing" most of the season. And Matt Birk has certainly been All World this season, right? Please. Does anyone, though, think that Birk's sub-par performance at center had anything to do with his battle against gay marriage??? Both men had a right to speak their mind, and I seriously doubt the performance of either player was effected by their public feud. Having written that, BA has also shown that he is NOT a starting-caliber NFL LB, that's for sure. And if I had just suffered through the type of game he and his ST mates did on Saturday, I'd be keeping the lowest profile possible this week.

After missing tackles on two touchdown returns in the playoffs he should have been studying his lane assignments. Where did he get the cajones to talk about anybody after that performance. But that's indicative of the type of player he has become. He needs to lay low like Nate Dogg!

Re: Brendon Ayanbadejo says he 'can't really respect' Patriots
The entire incident is priceless. And borderline insane.
Here is the so called veteran leader and special teams, so called ace, ripping the most successful franchise in the NFL over the past decade and a half, after his Special Team coverage almost cost us a chance at redemption in Foxboro surrendering 14 points. I'd bet the ranch he is not on the team next year, or later this year I should say. We have too many guys that have put in the sweat equity and have earned the job.
He is already overqualified for the Maryland Political scene. Runs his mouth, and he can't back it up. Martin O'Malley may find a spot for BA.
