Not I. Look, even the greatest of QB's need good O-lines to perform, and Joe needs his to do the same. We saw today what we have in Joe when his O-line is positioned properly and executes. He can take us far for years!

RE: Who doubts Flacco now??

How can you not love him now? His inconsistency has annoyed me just as much as anyone else, but when it comes down to it, the man comes to play. He beat Pitt. 2 years in a row with a TD pass to Housh and then Torrey. He came back in Pitt 2 years ago when Boldin and Housh dropped the ball. He threw the game winning pass last year when Lee dropped the ball. And now he beat Peyton Manning in Denver. It's not like Peyton had a terrible game. Joe simply out dueled Peyton. No matter what happens next week, Joe has stepped up.

Re: Who doubts Flacco now??

I'm happy for him.  He's been close so many times.  Held up his end of the bargain only to be let down.

I can't help but think though that he is now getting more expensive every week.  I wouldn't have it any other way but... he and his agent gambled and it's paying off now.

Kruger is also getting more expensive.

It's tough, you resign somone playing bad and they don't turn out you lose.

Both had good games.

Flacco has made some incredible throws the past 2 weeks and the receivers have made spectacular catches..

There's something brewing...

The biggest criticism that's annoying is people saying he's scared when things aren't going his way.  I think it's actually quite the opposite.  He is a confident guy with all the tools in the world.  He's also not dumb and speaks well.  Maybe he doesn't go through his progressions all the time perfectly but he's clutch and fearless.  And most importantly he's also a consistent winner.

Re: Who doubts Flacco now??

Let's just compare Joe to an "elite" qb like Peyton.

Peyton made the playoffs 11 times and lost his first game SEVEN TIMES!  (uncluch?)

Flacco made the playoffs all 5 years and won at least a game or more EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Not to mention that Joe's last 2 losses he hit the receiver in the hands or numbers for a probable game winning TD.

The throws are CONSISTENTLY THERE IN THE CLUTCH even when odds seem stacked against him.  It's like he has that magic touch and drive to win whatever it takes.

Flacco had a 116 qb rating today and a 130 qb rating last game. Combine that with his last AFC Championship game makes his top 3 playoff games in his career all in a row.  That's Joe clutch!

Re: Who doubts Flacco now??

He has had great games before and these Flacco doubter threads start and then the lays an egg.  He can be great or he can suck in a game.  He is not consistent to be an Elite QB but is a good QB.

The only "elite" QB left in the playoffs is Tom Brady, and he hasn't won a super bowl since 2004.

RE: Who doubts Flacco now??

The contract negotiation with Flacco is almost done. Flacco chose to let his play on the field do the talking this year. The front office has heard loud and clear. With a good game plan and guys who can catch, Flacco HAS beaten the best the NFL has to offer.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!!

Ozzie may be the only guy in the organization who is unhappy right mow. Flacco totally screwed up Ozzie's budget plans tonight!

Pay the man!

Give him time to throw, like the Ravens line did today, and he's as good as any QB out there.  That touch pass to Pita in OT, to get us out of terrible field position, was a thing of beauty.  Great catch by Pita too.

his upside is just as high as anybody out there... the ravens overall could become more consistent... flacco never seems to have it as easy as brady

Just wait until joe has a bad game. Every QB in the league has them, several times a season. Then the critics will be back. You can bank on it.

Yep, just like Mr. Elite Aaron Rogers losing to a rookie QB, or Mr. Elite Peyton Manning losing to the scrubs from Baltimore, or Mr. Elite Drew Brees watching the playoffs from his sofa, or Mr. Elite Ben Rothlesburger watching the playoffs from his local bordello. Somehow, Joe Flacco just keeps on truckin'

IMO, Caldwell has done wonders with JF in a short time span. I can only hope that Joe continues his rhythm and takes it to New Orleans...cant imagine the Ravens FO denying him the top tier money

Kaepernick isn't a rookie pirate

Agree about Caldwell. Hope Cameron is enjoying being shown just how much he was holding this offense back.

Well, lets be honest here....he made cameo appearances in what...2-3 games last year? For me, he's still much a rookie

Joe is the last Free Agent I'm worried about losing.  Everyone knows if we can't get a deal done we'll franchise him.  But at that money, we might as well just give him the contract he wants.

My hope is that we will still have time to re-sign Joe and 2 of the following:  Kruger, Ellerbe, Oher, Reed.

they need to sign Flacco and open up cap space. If they're forced to tag him, we're going to lose a lot of guys..

As to what the nay sayers might be thinking.. I can sum up in one word

Damn!

Oher is NOT a free agent, I'm not sure why that myth keeps going around.

I think the key to this offseason is the restructuring/extensions of Boldin, Jacoby and Leach.

If you are going to restructure, you can start with Ngata, Boldin, Suggs, I believe Yanda already re-did his deal to help the Ravens. Leach and Jacoby are not huge deals....

Agreed.  I think Jacoby and Boldin are more important than we realize.

Leach is in the last year of his deal, making $3m in salary.
Jones is in the last year of his deal, making I think $4m in salary.

Both need to be extended in a way that reduces their cap number.

Mckinnie is the key. When Joe gets into a rhythm and is not getting hit like any quarterback, he will kill you. At this point I think you have to sign Mckinnie to an incentive laden deal.
