Might as well stay in Baltimore.

Might as well stay in Baltimore.

The doubters are louder than ever.

1) Manning owns the Ravens
2) The Ravens are tired
3) The Ravens defense is washed up and can't stop the run
4) Flacco is inconsistent
5) The Broncos are red hot and have won 11/11
6) Feel free to add any insults...

We might as well not show up. I hope the young players take notice. Because many veterans know this will likely be their last ride. I'd say our Ravens have something to prove.

Might the doubters be going off the ass kicking Denver handed you in Baltimore a few weeks ago?

Might inform some of these offensive opinions, maybe possibly perhaps.

For the record, I think it's going to be a much closer game this week.

The game was close until Flacco's pick 6, without three of our defensive starters.   I believe the D put up more three and outs vs Manning than any other team they faced this year.  Sure, the wheels fell of late, but the story runs deeper than it's cover.

I'll play. In the 2009 season we lost at home to NE and beat them in the playoffs pretty easily.  I don't think anything will be as easy this time around, but I remember everyone saying how we never beat Brady too.

I'd suggest these NFL analysts you're defending as "informed" take a page from your QB and Belicheck who say that every game is different. I think their information is more up to speed.

So I'll toss it back to you on the level of the "informed" analysts you defend. On that level, instead of hiding behind Peyton Manning, tell us, what home made talent does your current team have to be proud of? You'll be forgiven if you don't know, it's not like there was much reason to watch football in the last decade around your neck of the woods.

WRs are just not very good analysts. Except for those who played for Dallas, and make it to TV for just that reason, and are horrible. Johnson and Irvin are just terrible.

Donkey's should be a solid favorites over the Ravens for all the reasons stated.  However the Raven's are definitely not 9 point dogs, if I was a betting man, I'd take Baltimore and the spread.

Can we win?  Biggest thorn that can't be ignored is Peyton is a Raven killer and that fact can't be denied.  Pats would have been a better matchup for us, IMO.

First of all, you can eat my ass. I've been a fan of this team since I was 5 years old. This was back in the days when Bulletmore didn't even have a pro team, since they split in the middle of the night for a flyover state rather than deal with the mouth-breathers in Maryland.

Second, learn to read. I didn't call the analysts "informed." I said the last meeting between these two teams -- the one where we whooped your ass in your barn -- probably informed their opinions on the upcoming game. Looking to the past to find answers to the questions of the future tends to happen from time to time, especially around sporting events. Truly. You can even look it up!

Third, our home grown weapons (not that it really matters in the era of free agency): Demaryious Thomas, Eric Decker, DJ Williams, Von Miller, Elvis Dumervil, Wesley Woodyard, Rahim Moore. Every single one is a starter.

Oh, did I forget Knowshon Moreno?

Horrible oversight on my part. That's my bad.

I didn't come here to talk trash, but that seems to be what you like, so there you go.
Hey boss.....A Colorado guy calling Baltimore "Bulletmore"???  You serious bro?  Colorado??  I will leave it at that.  You guys have more mass gun violence and weird S breaking out then any state in America.

Ouch muze, struck a sensitive chord, huh? Didn't come here to talk trash? Go down the slope has or go smoke some homegrown. Apparently it's pretty good, so good you forgot you mentioned the analysts were informed by our previous game.

I don't blame you. Your team has been slapped so hard by Billick and Brady last decade, last year you turned to Christianity to cheer Tebow, now you discovered Manning. Heck even Norv Turner and Cam Cameron owned your team.

Re: Might as well stay in Baltimore.

You gotta love it.  We are going in with nothing to lose and all the pressure is on Denver.  That is nice for a change.  The underdog team usually fares better than expected in these situations, and I expect that to be the case again.

I agree everything does point against us.  We do have our key players playing hurt.  The Broncos are extremely healthy, and have been all year.  We are coming off a game where our defense has been on the field for something like 87 plays and we get the short week to fly out west to play in the high altitude against a team that had the week off.  We are also coming off of an extremely emotional high.

You bet, we are extreme underdogs.  In other words, we have them right where we want them.

Re: Might as well stay in Baltimore.

As a Ravens fan, can you think of a big game where you agreed with the national opinion that the Ravens were going to be just too much for a team that was coming into our house?

I can for sure. I'll also say that if the table was turned, I would feel the same amount of confidence as a Denver fan, knowing they spanked us at our house and now they are hosting.

We should be underdogs no doubt about it. That said road underdogs win all the time in the playoffs. A short list over the last couple years....

2011
 - Giants over Falcons/Packers/49ers
 - Broncos over Steelers
2010
 - Dirty Sanchez' Jets over Manning's Colts (road team won 3/4 games that week, including Ravens 30-7 over the Chiefs. I don't think the others were underdogs.
 - Jets over Patriots (coming off of bye week)
2009
 - Ravens over Patriots

Looking at the regular season as a guide, you'd expect a Broncos win. That said, the regular season has proved to be as effective of a predictor for playoffs as a coin flip.

If we win, it won't be among the 5 biggest upsets for the Ravens over the last 5 years, nor will it be one a noteable playoff compared to those in the past.

.................additionally, Peyton Manning has a lifetime post season record of 9 - 10. I say we show up and have a go at these supposed "World Beaters". They definitely kicked our asses week 15, God bless 'em.

Let's see what Saturday brings.

This is what's so funny. You jump on me like a little bitch when I have the audacity to say the reason analysts MIGHT be picking Denver is because Denver beat your ass silly last time we played, just a few weeks ago. Not one time -- seriously, look it up -- have I predicted an easy win for Denver.

8-8 last year without Manning. Made the divisional round with a fullback playing quarterback. 4-12 the year before that.

As for how long he'll play... he's got a 5 year contract, and he looks awfully healthy, so... I don't know. At the outset of the season I figured 3 years or so. But the way he's playing, he may well play til he's 40+. /shrug Not really my concern right now.

Was it not an ass-kicking? Sure seemed like an ass-kicking.

And one more thing: I didn't come here to troll. Your homegirl up a few posts attempted to get cute, and I showed him where it's at. Deal with it.

Oh ****, you showed him "where its at" on a message board. Our message board. Get over yourself.
You guys are a rental team. Once Manning is gone its back to mediocrity. Theres no foundation once he is gone, you'll suck again. Peyton is also a notorious playoff choker, so we will see.

Just remember that the Jets got smashed by NE last year in December, and came in a beat NE in the playoffs. With Mark Sanchez. I wouldn't be so cocky.

You'd rather whine and cry, and that's fine. You have the right to do that. It is, after all, "your board." But don't try to pump this up like it's me claiming a 56-0 win this weekend. Fact is, I'm plenty worried about ANY playoff team, specifically one like the Ravens.

Does that soothe your fragile ego?

Also: LOL "rental team"
lol, someone's a little touchy.
It's hysterical how trolls come over to an opponent's board, stir up **** and then act surprised/hurt/upset when they get **** thrown right back at them.

You reap what you sow, dude.  If you don't like it, then get the hell off our board.

I hate fans of the "new money" teams in the NFL. Act like you've been there.
"New money" teams... like teams that didn't even exist prior to 1996?

No, like teams that had Tim Tebow last year and were mediocre. One good year since Elway left and you act like you own the place.

Don't talk about JLew that way. He's fragile.

This.  Hope your mediocre team & city have fun hanging onto the coat tail of a legend, while he attempts to get himself a ring.
