There are many words I'd use to describe that game. "Great" is not one of them.

Losing at home: fine.

Losing against a 3rd string QB: embarrassing.

Losing at home against a 3rd string QB: Words can't describe.

And pretty much every team that we needed to lose won today.

That fumble recovery had nothing to do with the defense. In fact he goes all the way if he holds onto the ball.

RE: No Meltdown Guys

It should have been worse than 23-20.  Batch badly over threw a wide open Wallace in the end zone.  Sanders fumbled when he was about to go the distance.

Ravens were badly outplayed and outcoached today.  I get that we weren't going to win every single home game.  But that effort was subpar to put it nicely.

Are you serious?  They recovered a fumble that the receiver dropped while he was running WIDE OPEN for a touch down.  That's called dumb luck.  The INT in the endzone was great, but how about not letting Charlie Batch march down the field for a game winning TD drive?

My boytoy?  You're really going there?

I thought the offensive gameplan was bad. I thought the defensive gameplan left something to be desired. And I thought the overall effort by players and coaches alike was not where it needed to be.

Quite frankly, this game was more important to the Steelers, and it showed.

This. This team was thoroughly embarrassed today. How do you lose to a 3rd String QB at home?

So again, does it or does it NOT count as a recovery?????? I dont care what it SHOULD have been, our D got them the ball back, and when we gave our offense the ball back, guess who gave it RIGHT back????....funny how you didnt mention THAT

What are you trying to prove here, that you don't actually watch the game?  The Ravens scored after they got the ball back on that fumble.

The defense was in the process of giving up another TD to Charlie Batch, they got lucky because Pitt fumbled.  That wasn't a good play by the defense, that was luck.

Kidd, giving the defense credit for that fumble recovery is like giving Flacco credit for the 4th and 29 conversion.

Charlie Batch is not your average 3rd stringer.  He is a proven veteran.  He remains in the NFL because he does not lose games due to poor QB play.  Would you have said the same thing if you lost to a legitimate 3rd string 6th rounder like Tom Brady when he was backing up Drew Bledsoe in New England?

Melt??? People overreacting over one game and placing blame where it doesnt belong isnt melting, saying that "WE SHOULD LOSE OUT AND GET A HIGH PICK" Like ive seen is melting, or saying someone should be fired. Its just crazy how in one weeks time, a team is the worst in the league, our defense is the worst in the league even though they had 2 turnovers and multiple sacks. They made enough plays to keep our offense in the game....period.

RE: No Meltdown Guys

There is blame enough to go around for every unit.

Cam abandoned the run (again).
Flacco played poorly (again).
The WRs forgot we were playing a game (except Boldin).
The Defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd down (in the 2nd half).
Absolutely retarded penalty by Kruger to seal the Ravens' fate.

Batch played well enough to win, and got hot at the right time.

The most important series of plays that started the collapse was Reed's INT followed by Flacco giving it right back, and Pittsburgh turning it into 6.

Pittsburgh played better than Baltimore. Ray Lewis is very fond of saying that this is a 60-minute game. Baltimore played fairly well for the first 30, and got handled in the 2nd 30. Game over.

lol i mean its one thing being disappointed Brave, but to overreact as if the world is ending is just crazy.

Nothing is ever as good as it seems, and things are never as bad as they seem. It goes to show you how people approach life that they find an emergency and "sky is falling approach" to every bump in the road.

Im just as disappointed as the next, but damn get a grip. We played a 2 time championship defense & a savvy vet at QB

I love how people are trying to justify why a 3rd stringer beat us...lol

we lost because of the following:

Our head coach does not manage the game.  he consistently loses challenges and makes bad decisions.  5 years removed from Billick and we still have meaningless penalties that everyone makes excuses for.  Krugers penalty was ridiculous, but a penalty nevertheless.

Our OC is garbage.. worse then garbage... anyone else but a weather person would have been fired by now.

Defense is bad.  We are the only team that you can watch and see Receivers running around like they are on a playground with no one around them.

Our LT is one of the worst in the league.

Last our QB.  Has all the potential in the world but the brain baby seal.  He has one of the strongest arms in the league and continues to throw off his back foot.  He under throws and over throws receivers that are open and then forces it to receivers who are not open. Poor decisions are not something you can teach.

+1000000

It's been all smoke and mirrors the past few years with the Defense pretty much carrying the load. This loss tonight was inevitable. Going 0-4 the rest of the way is not far fetched at all. I put a lot on the HC and OC. I have to add this Pees guy now as he is not living up to our standards as far a pressure and blitzing.

I have to throw the FO under the bus a bit as well. We have certainly had some serious higher round busts these past few years.

I agree too.  This was a team loss.  Add no pass rush, no blitzing of a mediocre QB, and wide open receivers when only 2 or at most 3 are in patterns.  Plus, the Stoolers absolutely had to win this game.  We didn't and it showed.

once again the Ravens scrap the very successful no huddle offense and play very bland football.. much have been that all that crowd nosie Eh  Cam?  Cam is out coached yet again

Why on earth didn't Pees blitz Batch??   We played right into Haleys hands by giving Batch time to wait for his receivers to open up..

And did the NFL have a different set of rules for last nights game. I swear they came up with a few new ones..

RE: No Meltdown Guys

I love Joe. He's our QB. But here is what he is. A 10-12 QB in the league that is going to be a bonehead from time to time. He might put together a season where he is top 5, but that's a maybe. I think we can get to a SB with him, but he won't get us there on his back.

That said, please stop defending him with his record. We have had one of the best teams in the NFL for 5 years. Football is a team sport, Joe's record is more indicative of the team, not the player.
