how about when he said he "hoped" the call went in favor of the Chargers? He's a blatant homer.

Thought I was the only one. Heard him once say "I hope so" in terms of something positive possibly happening for SD.

I mean I hate to defend him because christ he was irritating but when he was talking the play about the Boldin penalty he thought it'd be OPI instead it was a personal foul. He was saying the fans are booing now but I think they'll be cheering when the refs make the announcemnt in a few seconds at least I hope. He was talking about the slow refs, not the call in that case. He was still awful.

I made the remark in the game thread that he had already removed the Chargers' pants prior to kickoff and commenced the game long blowjob with the Chargers' first OFF series.

I don't think he was really biased. He just doesn't add much to the broadcast. Too many awkward silences.

I'm almost certain that in the 4th/OT, he said something like "we need to get Novak into range now". Anyone else hear that?

RE: Fouts
My favorite was Fouts whining about how terrible Pollard's late hit was and that it was 10 yards out of bounds, which was pretty much total BS by Fouts. Later in the game, there was a hit on Jacoby Jones, that in my opinion was a "later" hit out of bounds, and Fouts never said a word. I hate the homers when they think they are being impartial. If you are a homer, admit it and try to have fun with it, but don't be what Fouts was today. AND DON'T BE A DIERDORF!

RE: Fouts
Also, during the never ending replay of the 4th and 29, Fouts kept circling the top of the down marker at the bottom of the field, saying Rice didn't get that far. I guess he doesn't understand things like "viewing angles" and "depth perception". What a tool

Re: Fouts
For a broadcaster, he was pretty blatantly rooting for San Diego today.
What's interesting about that is, the last time he called a Ravens/Chargers game, back in '09, I have no real memory of him being so biased. And that was back when the Chargers were actually pretty good, so you'd expect him to be a little less engaged this time around, but it was the total opposite.
The only explanation I can come up with is that this game was only on tv in a tiny fraction of the country, so perhaps Fouts figured no one's watching anyway.

I don't think this is true, because it was the only CBS game at 4pm. I got it here in Chicago.

FOX had the double-header today, though, so only the portions of the country that didn't have a 1 o'clock CBS game got Ravens-Chargers. Here's a link to the TV map. I'm not saying it's a legitimate reason for Fouts to throw his impartiality out the window, but it was the only thing I could come up with.

RE: Fouts
He was a complete douche.
Anyone kinda find it funny how Chris Davis' grand slam was his 4th home run on his 4th at bat, driving in 4 runs, causing the O's to win by 4 runs on Opening Day, the 4th game of the season?

Even in that one season we went 13-3 back then he still couldn't believe our record was that good and shot Baltimore down every chance he could either on Inside the NFL or if he was commentating the game.

Its one thing to be a homer...we all can appreciate that fact. But when your on NATIONAL (operative word NATION) than you need to check your bias at the door. Its just so unprofessional in too many ways
