RE: Get Ready for Big Ben
That could be his biggest mistake if he did...taking a chance for Ngata or Suggs to nail him before his ribs totally heal. Or it was just lies to begin with...who knows

RE: Get Ready for Big Ben
I doubt it happens. No way he gets medical clearance.
I can't imagine the league would even allow the Steelers and Ben to risk it, UNLESS the orriginal diagnosis was bullsh1t and more Big Jen drama.
But if it was really a dislocated rib by his sternum, I can't see him coming back that quick. It would be extremely dangerous.

If Mortensen is right and there is no further risk of the rib piercing his heart then he'll play. And we'll still kick his ass.

RE: Get Ready for Big Ben
More Ben drama. The world will focus on him for the week no matter what. And if he does play he fakes an injury just so the world will look at him as the trooper carrying on at QB.
I'd like to see him get stuck too, and hard.

RE: Get Ready for Big Ben
I hope his ass does play. When we in the Steelers will have no excuses. Then again, they will create one like Ben was not "totally" healthy. Hilarious! But I agree with all of you. One good shot from Suggs or Ngata or a safety blitz; and he is finished this season including IF the Steelers make the playoffs.

I hope he does play. We are a different team at home and I would love to not only beat him, but end his season and get them out of the talks for the playoffs

They may have a lot of their guys back: DeCastro, Polamalu, A. Brown, maybe Gilbert. Although all of them coming off of major injuries. We shall see.

Dear Bernard Pollard,
All I want for Christmas is an earth shattering, highlight reel hit on Big Jen.... during a Ravens win.
Sincerely,
A diehard fan.

Ha, who cares if Jen plays? With Pitt's LOSS at Cleveland, we will be at least 2 games up on those chumps!

With a stat like EIGHT turnovers to spur them on this week, you can bank on them not being as bad next week. Especially IF they get Jen, hairball and others back.

A three game lead is sweet plus those guys even if they do come back, won't be nearly at 100% health wise. Hell, we know Jenny for sure won't be.

Re: Get Ready for Big Ben
I don't understand the Big Ben matra.
1. Wasn't he playing when the Ravens de-masculated the Steelers last year in the opener? 2. Wasn't Jenny the QB when Flacco drove the Ravens down the field in Pittsburgh and won the game after Steeler fans were boasting and bragging about revenge? 3. Who was QB when the Chiefs were threatening to upset the Steelers in Pittsburgh?
Yeah, he's a good QB that can extend plays, but the Ravens have beaten him before.

Re: Get Ready for Big Ben
I think he was just using the injury as an excuse to be around when his wife gave birth to their kid.
Anyone kinda find it funny how Chris Davis' grand slam was his 4th home run on his 4th at bat, driving in 4 runs, causing the O's to win by 4 runs on Opening Day, the 4th game of the season?
If that's not Earl talking from above...

Let him play if he wants to. With or without him the Steelers are the easiest home game on our schedule. The Steelers offense looks more lost than back in the days of Kordella.

Ben won't play... bank it! No way, no how! He will not be ready for this game in a week. He hasn't started to rehab yet, and his injury is too sore. Talk to anyone who had a major rib fracture. 4-6 weeks minimum. It's all a smoke screen by the team. They know they won't have him, we know they won't have him... everyone knows.

All true, but your entire premise is based on the notion that the Steelers were 100% truthful about the real nature of the injury. When Ben is involved, that's a HUGE assumption. My 1 year old daughter gets up and laughs off bumps and bruises that would cause Ben to cringe in pain (as long a camera was on him) just to set up the post game press conference about how tough he is to play through the pain, and how the loss isn't his fault because he wasn't at 100%. I mean even Ferris Bueller is in awe at how well Ben fakes illness/injury.

Regardless of Jenny's status, I promise to SOUND OFF and make their visit to the Vault as inhospitable as possible.

too little too late. They'll be 6 and a 6 in a weeks time and would need to run the table to get the 6th seed.

Re: Don't Look Now....
They were healthy at the begining of the year when they went 2 - 3...............what's your point ?
Beating the Steelers is "old news" for the Ravens and Ravens fans. We're concerned about playoff seeding.
Health is only a small part of your issues, every running back responsible for those 5 fumbles was healthy last week.

Re: Don't Look Now....
I wouldn't call having a bunch of players try to play with wounded body parts as being healthy.
If Rapistburger plays I doubt if he will be able to throw deep, let along hit a man in stride with timing. If Pullamuscle plays, he will be no better than he was at the beginning of the year. And his replacement has played better than he was playing.
Their o-line will be starting a 7th round pick from this year's draft at right tackle named Beachbum.
Woodley, who put the reverse-hex on himself by worrying about the pis$ rag, is out.
Harrison will never be the player he once was. He is not much more than a warm body at this point.

Re: Get Ready for Big Ben/ Steelers getting healthy
If, and this is a big if, Rottenburger plays, is there any concern that the Ravens players might be afraid to hit him hard? I mean, would you want to be that guy who goes down in history as the one who caused an aorta to sever and to kill a guy?
I guess if he is cleared then they deem that possibility as remote, but still it has to be in the heads of some of the defenders. Are they easing up on him a bit before hitting him?

I don't think that the doctors would let him even practice if there was any chance of that happening. While the Steelers are always iffy with injuries, these guys are still doctors. The NFL would be ruined. On the original topic, no I don't think our guys will ease up. If you choose to play you get hit. Hard. No going easy.

Re: Get Ready for Big Ben/ Steelers getting healthy
No way... If he plays so do the ravens defenders.... Why would they hit him any less harder...I mean if he plays then the injury was nowhere near as bad as they stated it was.... And this would expose him for the fraud he is...
Did other teams allow Suggs to just waltz in On their qb after he returned because of his injury...
Now, the officials may be quick to give a roughing the passer penalty a lot faster and unjustly but the players will NOT ease up on this whiner.... Count on it... This is not out style....

pullamuscle will play before the drama queen.. At least he's been on the pracitce field..
But I don't care who they put out there.. All I care about is beating them, taking the second straight sweep, and the AFCN crown.

There was word that Ben was on the field yesterday, but not practicing. Maybe holding the clipboard for Batch?

BuckinRavenstown wrote: There was word that Ben was on the field yesterday, but not practicing. Maybe holding the clipboard for Batch? He began soft tossing the football. All this means is he's testing range of motion. Tomlin reportedly didn't even take time to watch Ben "soft toss." Ben is not playing, it's just a decoy and a smoke screen by Pittsburgh. We will see the same team this time around, the only difference will be Charlie Batch at QB and no Lamar Woodley.
