Lamar Woodley gets feeling hurt over his Terrible Towel

Lamar Woodley gets feeling hurt over his Terrible Towel

This is too funny.  Big bad Lamar Woodley is really upset that Ravens were twirling yellow towels when they were leaving the field last night.  He's not upset that the Ravens have won three in a row in his house nor is he upset the Ravens have won 4 out of 5 regular season games...no, he is upset that the Ravens picked up some wayward yellow flags off the ground and twirled them!

How many Steelers fans do you expect in 2 weeks?  I'm thinking it's a low turnout.  Ravens fans around me don't tollerate that stupid towel being waved in their face.  If they whip it around then i'm keeping it as a trophy too.

I am thinking the real curse was Woodley yapping it up on NFLN.

"No, not at all because they have to go through one team -- that's the Pittsburgh Steelers in that AFC championship. So in order for them to get to the Super Bowl, they have to beat us, and we're not gonna let that happen once we get that close. So that's not gonna happen in this lifetime."

I loved Pitts AFCCG uniforms, red white and blue, how Patriotic!

They're not used to losing to a team in consecutive years.  It's eating them alive.

They go through different stages of loss.  Denial, then excuses, then insults, then pounding their chest "unleashing hell" and saying wait until next game and it's going to be a serious ass whooping, then sadness.

Every loss sends them deeper and deeper into a downward cycle.

Unleash hell Steelers!!!! LOL!!!!

This is pathetic, because some stupid steeler fans threw them away in the first place. Typical fair weather fans who have already given up the season.

And we shouldn't. If you want to wave it around do it in your own stadium. Don't bring it to other stadiums, have some class.

Damned straight.  If he held that pis& rag in such high esteem, he should have been more concerned that the Ravens players found them on the ground.

Let's face it, they are just looking for anything they can to get them "pumped up" thinking it will help them win.

how many superbowls have they won since he said that? The ravens that is? I cant remember the year he said it but havent the steelers won one and got to another since he made that comment? so far he is correct, the ravens wont win a superbowl lol

However the Ravens have def owned the steelers now so there should be no talking goin on from anyone in Pittsburgh. until they win a couple against the ravens it should be silent

Since he was insinuating that the Steelers would be the reason why we would never reach the superbowl, they were meaningless from the start, seeing that we have beaten them at Heinz Field several times lately.  If anything, we could say we own Heinz Field.

Now he's taking shots at Ray Rice

good to know he's focusing on his next game

It wouldn't shock me if they lose at Cleveland with Batch at QB

I know it's been a long time the last year and a half for the Steelers.

Last year - Steelers lost the division to the Ravens who swept the division and watched Joe make the throw in the AFC Championship game while they were home a couple rounds earlier TEBOWED.

This year - Steelers already 2 games back and lost again in Pittsburgh.

Woodley has backed up nothing.

Woodley backed up his comments to the same degree that the Browns did.  Not at all.

Re: Lamar Woodley gets feeling hurt over his Terrible Towel

I actually respect the Steelers as a winning organization(their fans are a different story). That said, I've never seen a group of people get so upset over a meaningless piss colored rag as Steeler fans and players. I really don't get it. The Terrible Towell(what a gay name! that's even worse than the Twins Homer Hankies from back in the day) was the brainchild of Myron Cope who was as annoying as any Steeler fan. He was a yellow tooth goblin who sounded like Gilbert Gottfried - except Gilberts actually funny. This guy was just irritating. Worse, he was a complete homer and didn't even try to deny it. Listening to him on the radio was the equivalent of spending the game sitting next to a drunken obnoxious(are there any other kind?) Steelers fan for 4 hrs. And the Steelers fans response when someone bashes the towell is "Hey the money all goes to charity". Well that's fine, but if you want to give to charity, write a $25 check to the cause of your choice. It'll do a lot more good than the $4.95 you spend on a dish rag. Hell Ray Lewis gives a lot of his money AND time to charity. Try telling that to a Steeler fan, and you get the same old "Duh, he's a murderer, duh!"
And one last thing. If Steeler fans don't want opposing players messing w/their precious rags then tell their fans to stop shoving the friggin rag in opposing fans faces and waving the damn things whenever Ben completes a 10 yard pass. You know it's actually against the law to set a terrible towell on fire in Pittsburgh? You can't make this stuff up.
Like I said at the outset, I do respect the Steelers front office, coaches and players. They seem to put a winning team on the field year after year. But IMHO, the terrible towell belongs buried in the past w/other ugly 70's relics like Bell bottoms, and shag carpets
If you see me wearing a turban and sandals that means the Steelers are playing Iraq

I'm not a large person, but even I have "confiscated" a piss rag that repeatedly nicked my head while being waved. Of course that was a few years ago. We don't see so many of them anymore. Last year there weren't any at all near me.

Death, taxes and the Terrible Towel Curse...all are inevitable.  Ravens are done.  You'll lose the next 6.  The only bad thing is you might not sign Flaccido to big money deal after the meltdown.  That will suck for Steeler fans.

Ray Rice said that he got the Terrible Towel from a fan by trading his gloves. He plans to put it in his basement to cherish the rivalry.

Man, Rice knows the perfect thing to say to make Woodley's words as embarrassing as possible.

Re: Lamar Woodley gets feeling hurt over his Terrible Towel

Woodley is just looking for something....anything....to get his team going.  All the RAH RAH and whining in the world about the towel isn't going to help them.  They got punched in the mouth the other night by a more physical team.  A team that they've lost to 5 out of the last 7 times they've played.  We are in their head big time, and it's only going to get worse for them when they come to M&T! They will get blown out, hurt and humiliated.  Ray Rice - and the Ravens - are unconcerned with Woodley's comments.  It would be wise for him to focus on the Browns - a team they may lose to - this Sunday.  They've done lost the division, and they better focus on trying to get that last wild card spot.

so what's the big deal?  sorta puts things in perspective.  anyway it's not like it's the shroud of turin or something.  it's just a towel.  so what?

ah someone already mentioned.  am a bit slow today.

Yeah, funny how it's never addressed how they got their piss rags to begin with.  Fair weather fans tossed them is how.

I re-watched the game on my DVR.  It amazed me how most of the game was church like quiet.  Nothing like M&T.

I'll take a loss in SD this weekend if I could trade it for a crushing of the Stoolers at the Bank.
