Why?  I want to win and him being out raises the chances tremendously.  Especially if we are without Webb and Jimmy Smith in the secondary and have little pass rush.  That is a bad combination against a guy like Rottenburger.

ravens better still come to play...hope the players dont overlook them with the injuries they have...we lose this game, its gonna hurt our chances of a 1st rd bye big time...

I can't find where it is offical, espically this early in the week.  I do see alot or writers reporting it but that is just from sources that aren't alway correct.

Its Official, PPG just posted it.  He isnt playing. You guys get good ol Sandy Koufax as we call him here in the burgh with the huge wind up.  Most of us want Charlie Batch to start because he is isnt a statue back there like Leftwich is. But of well It will be a good game regardless.

Because I am sick of their lame excuses anytime these lose. I believe we have been in their heads for the past three years..

Ben Roethlisberger out for Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't taking any chances. Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reports that Ben Roethlisberger will sit out Sunday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Byron Leftwich will start.

Steelers.com also has reported that Roethlisberger will not play vs. the Ravens.

Don't argue with an idiot;  people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

I find it hard to believe we will overlook them without Big Jen. We are playing the Steelers in Heinz Field.

I'm guessing a 17-13 win for our boys. Steelers D will keep them in it but I think Lefty turns it over too many times and we pull it out.

I dont care what people think I will take it.  We need this win.  Getting the division is the first goal and with our schedule coming up, every win is good.

We could wind up winning the division by this one game if we take care of business

He's right.  All that matters is wins.  I'd be perfectly happy if every starting QB for every team we faced was out for all of our games thru the Super Bowl.  It's part of the game, and I'll take any advantage we can get.

Who cares what excuses they have?  It doesn't change the scoreboard and that's all that matters.

Exactly.  Did the Patriots have to give up the Superbowl XXXVI trophy because Jamal Lewis got injured in the preseason?  Does anybody outside of Baltimore even give it a thought when the record book indicates the Patriots as the champs?  Hell no.  And if we raise that trophe, nobody will care if Rottenburger was sitting when we played them.

Well, it gives Suggs a couple more games to get into game shape and go against Ben at HOME where the crowd will be extra loud. :)

It's stealer week.. We hate them, they hate us.. You can throw out the book when it comes to a rivalry game like this..

But with the drama queen out, our chances are that much better. Every team deals with injury. I don't see anyone concerned that we're missing Webby, Jimmy and Ray. or that  Haloti's hurt, and Reed's  dinged up.  Thats because it time for the next man up to step in and so far, our guys are doing it..

Boiled down,  a division win is a division win.  they don't give or take points for who plays and who doesn't.

I would have Ngata & Mcphee sit again for this game, and have Hall, Tyson, Jones, Kemo & Cody go in with extra reps. I think these 5 guys can do a decent job without risking Ngata further & allowing him to heal even more.

Well we all know he couldn't let his wife's impending labor upstage him so he has to fake a shoulder injury so he can "play hurt" while she tears her taint squirting out the spawn of Satan.

After the delivery all the nurses and doctors will rave about how he managed to hold one of her feet and tell her to breath while in incredible pain.

What a guy!

Question ... do you actually believe that, or are you just joking?

NFL network now reports no time table for return. It's the rib injury that's more serious than the shoulder sprain. Reports are it's a rare dislocated rib, similar to what cost Mike Vick 6 games two seasons ago. Ben's rib dislocation is rumored to be so serious they are concerned it could lacerate his aorta. I wouldn't expect Ben back any time soon. Most definitely not against Baltimore this season.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/...rous-rib-injury

Let me give you one quote from the article....

"The seasons change, but one thing remains the same. No one does drama in Pittsburgh quite like Ben Roethlisberger. This rib injury may just cost the Steelers any chance at winning the AFC North."

Even the NFL network feels Ben is a drama queen..bahahaha!

During the Big Ben era when he plays the Steelers are 9-5 against us, without him they are 0-4. We need to keep it that way and make it 0-6 if he's still out 2.5 weeks from now!

Wow, Vegas certainly views Ben pretty highly: The line went from Steelers by 3.5 to Ravens by 3.5.  I don't know if I've ever seen a 7-point swing like that, based on one player...

I wonder how much of the decision not to play was based on Suggs being back on the field.  Jenny's pretty much been a tackling dummy for TSizzle.

It was based on the doctors call.

Per ESPN's Bob Holtzman, doctors have advised Big Ben to not return until his rib is completely healed, and "that could take up to 6 weeks."

Terry Bradshaw would have taped up and played

Creeplesberger never was a team player

How many of his teammates suited up and played hurt.

This guy said he was gonna miss Sundays game if his wife was having labor pains, this is
not something you make public where your fans and teammates can read it.
This was childish and detrimental to his team on a scenario that probably wouldnt happen
in the first place.

Dufus.

I would rather he played Sunday, because I find it extreemly entertaining watching him
run for his life from Suggs. biggrin

Better the devil you know.

Now that Irene is gone and we can't take a shot every time someone on TV says "hunker down" I think our new drinking game should be a shot every time one of the talking heads says "tough".

Yup, Lord knows he doesn't do what's best for the team. I talked to a few Steeler fans today that are sick of his crap.

Sick of what crap?  Steering clear of heart puncturing?  Seems a rather wise course of action to me.
