STEP DOWN MIKE BROWN
It's done. All the money I've saved over the years by mooching tickets off people will finally be put to good use: On Sunday 19th October between 11 am and 12 noon a plane will fly over PBS dragging a banner proclaiming "STEP DOWN MIKE BROWN."
No donations or monetary gifts are required, this one's on me fellas. However, what I would like for all of you to do is spread the word around the Internet so we generate some support. If you belong to another message board or fan site start a thread. As The Dude pointed out, if we can get a chant going during the game it'd be a wonderful thing, ad perhaps the impetus for change. If we can get local media on board, it'd be great, and if ESPN gets involved, wooo-hooo.
The Dude's our official spokesperson, and he'll be doing the radio sport's talk circuit, but if any of you want to call Lance or Mo or Cutler and inform them of our protest, feel free. If you have media ties or want to write to any media outlet, have at it.
If any of you have any other ideas like SDMB merchandise, let us know. And remember, don't despair because great oaks from tiny acorns grow.

ill join. i could possibly have some shirts made up if people would actually buy them...i have t-shirt press and alotta shirts as i do side business on ebay selling t-shirts.

Maybe everyone could wear yellow to that game seeing as we play Pitt. Made a lot of news up here in Detroit when the Bengals played the Lions at Ford Field in 2005. There was a lot of orange and a march around the stadium before the game.  "I'm telling you, I've had it. I've had it with all this crap.

I like the idea of T-shirts, but if you're proclaiming Uknow to be the greatest member of the Insider network, I have to question you're sanity? Did you play semi-professionally with him?
Every T-shirt should have the STMB logo on it, the:
1) WWMBD? Screw the fans.
2) If you build it (Picture of PBS) You can screw 'em

More like bunkmates in the Navy. You have no idea how close two men in close quarters can become after six months of being stranded at sea. Ain't I right Surreal?

I'm in. There seems to be someone on the Bengals site, that is also a member on another board that he says is in serious discussions of a walkout during a game. I'm sure they would be on board with the Down with Brown faternity.

Honestly, I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but this is a terrible idea. Mikey already knows he's hated. He already knows he sucks. This stunt has been pulled before. A billboard would've been a better idea and would've gained more publicity. We could easily get many members of multiple Bengals boards to get one together.
With that said, something needs to be done but I think flying a banner is a waste of money. JMO.

well we can still get a billboard together with donations. Smell took the bill on this one. I'm sure people of other Bengal sites would be glad to donate to a billboard.
Just think of the banner as the war flag that is waved before the s##t hits the fan. There is a whole lot of season to organize other things. |

Smell, where does Liverpool get their gigantic crest banners made that the fans pass up to the top of the Kop? Something like that would be the stuff of legend. Although getting it into the game would be impossible. We'd need an inside man.

should we link this thread while "spreading the word" early returns from bungals.com is loving it, but seems a bit unorganized....and someone even mentioned making a tshirt with the slogan on it already.
Is this now the home of Step Down Mike Brown central?

I've called all the sports stations here in Southern California and only one knew that the Bengals still played in the NFL. I liked Lost's shirt idea... I'd buy one. Can we get someone on scene to record and photograph the event? I'll spread the word to the other boards I know. I can't imagine anything negative being allowed on the Bungles.com board. There are plenty of others out there. |
