Trindon Holliday cut, Barrett Ruud signed

Cushing placed on IR.
Barrett Ruud signed.
Barrett Ruud's best days are long behind him but he's a vet and will provide depth at the position.

Trindon Holliday was cut and OG Cody White was elevated to the roster from the practice squad.

I was pulling for Trindon Holliday but at the end of the day, a guy who is gonna be a specialist has to be special.... and he wasn't.
Texans are last in the league on kickoff returns.

That's not all on Trindon but when that's all you do for a team, it's an easy decision to replace you with a guy who plays multiple spots and allows you to bring another guy up for o-line depth.
Keyshawn Martin will take over both kickoff and punt return return duties.

The best return guy on the team is probably Danieal Manning but he's too important to the team at safety to risk him on special teams.
Justin Forsett has also returned kicks and punts.

Why dont they put Manning back there to return kicks? He's proven to be good at it with Chicago.

Manning was in the top 5 last year in kickoff return average......or he would've been if he had enough returns to qualify.
He's great at it but Kubiak doesn't want to risk him to injury and potentially lose him on defense.

He did say today that Manning was an option, but that Keyshawn Martin would be the guy for now.
