Texans -vs- Colts
We've been down this road before....... Goin into Indy to face the Colts. It hurts that we lose a huge weapon in Owen Daniels before this game. The Colts are flyin high at 7-0 but showed to be a little vulnerable last week in their game with the 9ers. Probably just an off game for them. I look for Peyton to bounce back. He was pretty disappointed in himself after his worst performance of the season last week. (couldn't he have waited a week to have a bad game) To beat the Colts we have to sustain drives. Hopefully the new found running game will be there again this week. I feel we'll be able to move the ball thru the air but if we can also have success running then it will help control the clock and limit the touches for Peyton and the Colts offense. The defense has to keep them from jumping out to a big lead. We've seen it before, the Colts jump out and then they turn Freeny and Mathis loose when you're forced to pass to keep up. Need to keep it close so the offense can stay somewhat balanced or at least keep them guessing. Thoughts.....

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
Hi BR. I've only seen highligts of your team this year, so I can't say a whole lot about them, except, last week you had a pretty good run game. Our run D has improved some, even with Sanders out. We've got good play from Powers and Lacey our rookie corners. We maybe run the ball a little better than we did last year, but still rely heavily on the pass. Our return game is not the greatest, but coverage on KO and punts has been solid. The last four lines of your post sum up my thoughts about the game. As a division rival you guys usually play us tough. Wouldn't break my heart to see you guys finally have a winning season this year, but I hope you don't gain ground this week.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
I think there's a reason the Colts had an off game last Sunday. First, the 49ers prepared pretty well for them, and Frank Gore gashed 'em up pretty good helping to keep Peyton on the sidelines. Second, I honestly believe they were looking ahead a little to this game this week. Check the trends, nonconference games are usually closer than they ought to be. A win against the 49ers isn't as critical as a win against the 2nd place team in the division. I think the Colts are excited to play the Texans, and are looking for a competitive game. The Texans ability to run the ball will be huge, especially without Owen Daniels. They've put together some time consuming drives that put points on the board and keeps Peyton and Co from getting in a rhythm. Hopefully the Texans go all out knowing there's an off week coming up. I think the Texans can win, but until they actually do it, and in Indy, I have to go with history. Colts win 31-17. Hopefully the Texans pull a huge surprise and get the biggest win in franchise history.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
Do you have any idea as to whether or not Ryan Moats will be the starting RB this week. He had one heck of a performance and I can't imagine him not starting. Thanks

Thanks Kubiak is not saying who will start or get the bulk of the carries, only that all 3 backs, Moats, Slaton, & Brown will play.

Thanks for your information. I picked up Moats in my fantasy football league and am trying to decide if he is worth a start. He was impressive last week.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
The Colts don't have any film of us putting Slaton and Moats on the field at the same time. We have something for which they can't fully prepare, and if we take advantage of it and keep them guessing, the Texans can win and take control of the division.I hope I didn't just jinx it.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/post...-three-and-outs Texans' D league's best at three-and-outs November 7, 2009 11:42 AM Posted by ESPN.com’s Paul Kuharsky Failed third downs frustrate any offense. But nothing’s worse for a team trying to establish an offensive rhythm than repeated three-and-outs. And no defense in the league has done better at forcing three-and-outs than the Houston Texans. Houston’s not allowed a first down on 47.9 percent of its opponents' drives, a strong number that leads the league with New England second at 44.2 percent and is 13 percent better than any other team in the AFC South. “That’s really big for us. I think that’s setting a tone to let teams know we’re going to be in the right places,” strong safety Bernard Pollard said. “We’re not going to stop everything. These guys get paid a lot of money to make first downs …. It’s just been great for us that we’ve been getting them off the field and we’ve got to continue to do that if we want to win.” But the Texans meet the Colts Sunday. And on the other side of the ball, Indianapolis is fourth-best at avoiding three-and-outs. The Colts' offense goes three-and-out only 28.4 percent of the time. If the Texans can force the Colts to punt after only three snaps a couple of times at Lucas Oil Stadium it will do a lot to bolster their chances at an upset. But you know how it goes. They can force three in a row and Peyton Manning can wash them all away with one huge play on the fourth series.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
I'm in shock. I like Kris Brown. He's won alot of games for us, but missing that one was a heartbreaker. Not the reason we lost, but just another mistake against a team you can't make mistakes against. On a positive note, I think we proved that we can go toe to toe against any team in the league right now.

All I have to say is Bring on the Titans. I want to see Mario Williams get a sack in that game more than any other. Actually, multiple sacks, with a forced fumble here and there, would be even better.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
we got absoultly screwed by the officials, that was a terrible over turned call on the 1 completly wrong, and the spearing call where Pollard had his fore arm out front, the offsides where Freeny touched a defender, they butchered that game. I am not one to blame officiating for a loss, but if there heads and asses had be just an inch apart we would have won. Kris brown got a bad snap on the last kick, the holder didn't get it down properly. we have to go on one hell of a run if we are going to make the playoffs. thats 3 games we have lost this year in the clutch, our team has to finish. i am very dissapointed.

Re: Texans -vs- Colts
After looking at the replay, I thought the Moats fumble was ruled correctly. We should have got to the line and snapped the ball before the 2 minute warning. That gave Indy all day to review it and decide to challenge. Not running a quick play cost us 3 points minimum and maybe 7....
