We do not need to go out and sign edgerin, we are not that bad off at Running Back. I think JC will make some plays with his speed and the ability to get through holes.. We do not need Edge.........

RE: Alright we got Chambers, now lets go get Edgerrin James
Depending on what he is owed, I'd take chance on Edge. I'm not sure he'd want to play for Haley though, b/c I think he was pretty upset w/ how he was used (or not used, I gues) in Haley's offense. This is only applicable if: The Chiefs plan on deactivating/benching/cutting LJ JC is deemed too small to carry the workload K. Smith isn't ready to be activated

Id take Edge if the Chiefs were planning on releasing Larry. Id much rather have Edge carrying the ball than JC.

I would like to see the Chiefs cut Larry Johnson following his suspension. That would be awesome. He doesnt think its going to happen... if a team claims him on waivers, so be it, they are on the hook for him. Go get Edge for a year. Edge couldnt do any worse. Im too the point where i just want larry gone.
Larry Johnson: " I'm cakn patna. While u work or school for 5 dollas n hour. Ha!"

Re: Alright we got Chambers, now lets go get Edgerrin James
Even if our three backs are Charles, Savage, and Smith... I'm satisfied for the rest of this season with them. Plus, I'd like to see what they can give us. LJ is so much a straight ahead runner that I'd like to see if our other backs, who have more moves than he does, can do.

Lets see, what other washed up veterans are out there who were good at one time? I would say Zach Thomas but that didn't work out. I would say Seau but he already went to NE. Marcus Allen?

Re: Alright we got Chambers, now lets go get Edgerrin James
So we should replace our suspended past-his-prime, unproductive running back with another past-his-prime, unproductive running back? No thanks. I'll take the Jamaal Charles/Kolby Smith/Dantrell Savage committee for the rest of this season, then the team can get the position sorted out in the offseason. ---Tim

Re: Alright we got Chambers, now lets go get Edgerrin James
There would be a certain symmetry if we signed Edge and released LJ - they both are averaging 2.7 yards per carry.

Re: Alright we got Chambers, now lets go get Edgerrin James
Certainly not a foolish approach but IF they think Edge can help this team win even 1 game extra I could see an arguement that it would be worth it. It would all depends on how the orgainzation views the 3 RBs mentioned and if they want to "give them a shot"...if they don't feel they are the future then that 1 win that Edge gives you moves you down in the draft and gives you flexibility and of course saves money at the very least. Marcus Allen? Like I said, I only see this as a viable option if the Chiefs go ahead and bench LJ for the remainder of the season, and it is deemed that JC or DS can't carry the load, AND Kolby isn't quite ready for gameday action.
I wouldn't view it as an attempt to resurrect Edge's career by any means, rather we'd just be getting a RB to facilitate the game.
