Taking Baby Steps with Murray Prudent Course for Chiefs

BABY STEPS

When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Georgia Quarterback, Aaron Murray a few weeks ago, it represented a shift in the philosophy that’s guided this franchise since it’s inception. As fans, it’s time we embrace that change but also heed it’s warning that patience is the key moving forward.

I don't expect to see Murray take a snap this season with Smith and Daniels ahead of him on the depth chart.  This should give him time to heal from the injury he had and to learn the playbook.  However, in 2015,  I expect Murray to be the #2 QB with only Smith ahead of him.  He should be better than Croyle, Quinn, Palko, Bray, Stanzi, and Daniel when 2015 rolls around.  He should be the best #2 QB the Chiefs have had since Orton backed up Cassel.  Murray also has some mobility which is nice.

Nick the chiefs need to find away to hide either Murray or Bray on injured reserve. Neither one are ready for the @ 2 job. If we get Alex resigned then we can look to move Chase in 2015 with Murray and Bray as # 2 and 3.  Yes Im a Mizzou homer that says if Bray and Murray have potential then we must move on from Chase in 2015.   But I trust that Andy knows better than all of us and will make the right decision.
