Thread Moved, Zanary comming to the neighborhood
Tavaris Jackson " skipped " the voluntary conditioning drills held at VMAC, over the weekend. While it is voluntary, when in such a close competition for the starting Qb job, is that really the smartest thing to do? Or does T-Jack know something that we don't? I would think that you would want your coach to see your smiling face there, EVERY time the doors were unlocked. Especially if your job were on the line. Does he think he's too good and doesn't need it? WTF !

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....
Maybe he sees the writting on the wall and knows he can't possibly win the job. So he has given in rather then fight for it. Any rational person when your job is on the line would be there fighting for it. So this was a very bad move and not a leadership thing to do IMHO

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....
It's the most assinine thing I have heard of recently, for sure. If it is true, that he does see some writting on the wall, will it be Flynn, Wilson and Portis ? Or some other variation ? Skipping a conditioning practice, voluntary or not, I agree. Not the right thing to do for a team leader. Is it stupidity, or resignation ? Has he been that outclassed this early in the competition, or does he truly believe that he doesn't need any extra conditioning. What an idiot, IMO.

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....
I think the thing that irritates me the most about this is it's a toxic attitude that will no doubt have an effect on the rookies. When you're the encumbent Qb for the franchise, and you blow off ANY team function, drill or practice, voluntary or not, you are having an adverse effect on the team. When things are in a state of flux, such as in the Qb situation, team unity and morale are of the utmost importance. John and Pete need to deal with this immediately. Take away his birthday, kick him in his junk or something. Just don't allow this to be ignored. It's just simply unacceptable.

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....
Ummm...
...guys...
...you're assuming he didn't already have something important going on (yes, there are things more important...and he's married with at least one kid), and it's more than likely, given that his work ethic has been SPOTLESS since joining the NFL, that it was something Pete knew about.
He misses one voluntary workout, maybe to encourage pec muscle healing (gosh, unthinkable!), and he's already a locker room cancer?
Really?
Gimme a fuggin' break. Go look up some of his teammate interviews about him, then his history. You're essentially ignoring everything said about the guy by coaches and players his whole career to jump to bizarre conclusions.
Look, I've been more than busy with school and getting ready for the move, so I've toned stuff down a ton. This, though, is crap until someone ON THE FREAKIN' TEAM actually complains. One voluntary workout missed, yet he's already done offseason work with the WRs completely on his own time? What a golly-gosh-darn slacker!

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....JACKSON FUMBLES !
Plain and simple fact, Flynn & Wilson are better QB's and T-choke knows it. He was probably out on the Sound catching some PNW Salmon before he is shiped of to Jacksonville lol!

Yeah, and everyone knows that Charlie was "better" last season, too... I'd love to see you back up the "plain and simple fact" as anything but opinion when talking about 2 guys with 2/0 starts, respectively...and none with this team or its players/system. Yay, superlatives...! Seachickenfan1 wrote: Plain and simple fact, Flynn & Wilson are better QB's and T-choke knows it. Hey Z,
I know for a fact that Jackson just elected to not be there. It had nothing to do with a prior engagement, or rehab of an ailing pec. Team leaders should always make any scheduled event. If he was hurt, he would not have to participate, but he should have attended. He did not even show up. That has nothing to do with his performance. It does however, reflect greatly on his attitude toward the team and his teammates.

They probably are shopping him at this moment. Just my opinion based soley on gut.
Pete was not fearful to go into battle with TJ,CW and Portis. Why would they fear Flynn, Wilson and Portis?

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....JACKSON FUMBLES !
Seems kinda odd, given that he's been a first in/last out kinda guy his whole career thus far. It goes against anything and everything said about him to date that he'd elect to "blow off" activities...and he's already put it extra time with the receivers, so it's not like it's in his recent character either. Just sayin'. Portraying him as blowing off the activity is against his pattern of behavior, so I'd like the whole story before trying to see him as a "locker room cancer" type. ALUMNI56 wrote: Hey Z,

He's a joke of a QB,and knows he's on his way out of town.He also knows damn good and well that he's not as good as Flynn or wilson.I can't wait till this assclown is officially off this team. Once he's gone, we don't have to see pathetic post from T-suck loving douchebags.

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....JACKSON FUMBLES !
Here is a question for you...at Seahawks.com they tell you what is going on in camp at at OTA's everyday. Thye posted the trade for Winslow right after we got him, the told us Carp is still way off from playing, etc....Why the hell are they being so quiet about Tjack skipping the OTA's, or at least the first one? That is a huge deal if you ask me. The QB is the leader of team. He has to be there at all times to earn the respect of his comrades and to make sure he is 100% ready to win games come Sept. This is now Flynn's job to loose if you ask me.

That's old news, but, yes, the Hawks are extremely tight lipped about it. Maybe it's because they're gritting their teeth. Or trying to put a positive spin on it. There is the short blurb there at YARDBARKER about missing the voluntary conditioning, and how he's not only in competition for the starting spot, but he's also fighting for a job, period. This even baffles the original reporter of the story.

RE: HERE WE GO......no, wait.....JACKSON FUMBLES !
It's not really negative PR. They, (the Seahawks) are saying nothing.
Right now, it's just a report. Jackson did not attend a Voluntary conditioning session. Thats all.
One would have thought he would be there due to the heavy competition for Qb, which intriged the reporter enough to report it.
What is telling is that on the first day of OTA's, the Seahawks.com OTA report mentions NOTHING about T-Jack throwing, or even being present. The only Qb's reported on are Flynn and Wilson.
Where is T.J. on the first day of the OTA ?

Gosh, I thought he just "skipped" it...right? So, in other words, you don't know either. Not really what you insinuated earlier. God forbid we wait 'til there's a real explanation before jumping to inane conclusions... ALUMNI56 wrote: It's not really negative PR. They, (the Seahawks) are saying nothing.

Where is T.J. on the first day of the OTA ? That's what I'm saying... they didn't put out anything on it. If they had said that he skipped it or wasn't there, it wouldn't look good on TJax or the team... negative PR. Would make no sense to put that in the press releases.

"Feels" like a trade in the works to me!? I can't think of who besides maybe a Miami, St. Louis or Jacksonville tha may need a solid back up. If they do end up trading him I hope they can score a solid draft pick. GO HAWKS!!!

Wow, be careful there Alumni...You do not want to piss off Crazy Zany. Don't talk any smack about his beloved Tjack or you will never hear the end of it. When he looses the starting job we will have to hear how we really never gave him a chance and how the world is against him and all that crude. Just warning you to be careful there :-)
