There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this week
I just don't see how so many fans can give up long before the game is even started! You MUST look at it with some perspective! OMG! We lost to the Cardinals and Dallas beat Atlanta! We are screwed! Our season is over! WTH? I really don't see what all the doom and gloom is about! Really! Tony Romo took apart a suspect secondary! They were well rested, coming off of a bye and desperate to win. If there ever was a trap game, this is it! They will be full of themselves and remembering the game last year. The Cowboys will look at our offensive line and not take this week's practice seriously and pay dearly for it.
Here are the upsides, at minimum we should be 3 - 3 except for a referee reversing a fumble that he never should have! The other games we have lost have been without Matt or with Kyle Williams at LT. Damien McIntosh is ten times the LT that Kyle is. Oh, we got Rob Sims back which will give the O Line confidence! So no more Vallos at LG...wtf was that anyway huh? This line has something to prove and I think losing Big Walt for the year is going to bring some emotions to the surface. Expect Willis to get at least one personal foul.
Matt said his timing has been off and he has been missing close ones. Well guess what he has been working on since losing to the Cardinals? Timing and communication and I am guessing the reason why he was unable to practice today is because he has really been working on it.
Don't forget, we get back Leroy Hill and Marcus Trufant, that is HUGE when it comes to the passing game because both of them can cover. And we do have the talent to get pressure up front with the way Tapp has improved and by dropping the Wolverine, Nick Reed in there and letting him terrorize the opposing offense. I hope he growls and slobbers when he goes on the attack. Let me tell you, I have been very close to a pissed off growling Wolverine, it is a scary thing!
I have a good feeling about activating Louis Rankin, this guy is desperate and is going to plow in to people on returns, let's just hope he tightens his grip on the ball when he does it.
They barely beat KC in overtime!! Atlanta's Passing Defense is ranked #26! Their rush defense? 23rd! Offense is slightly better passing 17th and rushing 19th. While Seattle's passing and rushing is 18th and 28th respectively, the overall defense is 12th! And that is after playing a very good Arizona team and the Colts who run it up on everybody.
Our passing defense is tied for 16th with Chicago AFTER playing Arizona and Indianapolis.
In comparison, Kansas Cities Rush D is ranked 25th! Their passing D is even worse at #27! Remember, Miles Austin, albeit a very good receiver, set a Cowboys receiving record against that mighty backfield!
But hey, maybe KC has a great passing attack! Nope! A miserly #30 in the pissing, errr passing ranks. But hey, it's not all bad news for the Chiefs! Their rushing offense comes in at number twenty! Hell yea! No wonder the Cowboys had such a tough time beating them! That 72 yards net rushing they put up, that was it...
I like Jim Mora's approach, the mantra he preaches to his team, he it's tough, be we want it tough! There's little satisfaction in gimmees but great satisfaction in taking on a challenge, facing adversity, and kicking their asses!
This team may be down, but like Hasselbeck said, only a fool would count them out!
Nuke 'Em till they Glow then Shoot 'Em in the Dark!

Well said! No reason to count the Hawks out yet. I still think we can finish strong and make a run for the division. I still think we can finish 9-7 or 10-6, if we're really lucky 11-5!

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
Sorry but i just think you are in complete and utter denial. You really dont understand why so many fans think we will lose this game? REALLY?
Even if our team wasn't in as bad a shape as they are, and weren't playing as poorly as they are, the seahawks record on the road is BAD. They play with absolutely no passion on the road, and they are about to go into Dallas and have a repeat of what happened last year. I hope you are right ivotuk, but I just think that you have blinders on, its pretty easy to see why most people think we're going to lose. ivotuk wrote: I just don't see how so many fans can give up long before the game is even started! Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
i never count our team out and have been preaching eternal optimism all season but... it all hinges on DEMARCUS WARE VS damion mccintosh ...
I see a "slight" advantage for the cowgirls... but if Damion mans up and neutralizes Ware we have a good chance against "midamericas" team.. BTW might our demolitions of the rams and jaguars have scewed the stats to the point that the beatings we took at the hands of the cards and colts don't factor into the big stat picture?

As much as I want to believe the Hawks will beat Dallas, it just isn't realistic.... There is alway's a chance and I'm not saying they will definatly lose but I sure won't bet on it... Heck maybe we will see Seattle shut them out, that seems to be the trend with this team feast or famine... LTH68

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
I don't buy into all that "this team beat that team and we beat so and so, therefore we should kill this team". Each game has to be played, and what Dallas or Seattle did in previous games doesn't factor into this game IMO. Dallas lost a game to the Giants that it easily should have won if you watched the game. They just kept killing themselves with penalties and dumb mistakes. Dallas beat themselves really. NY didn't have a great game either but they did pull it out at the end. The other game Dallas lost was in Denver to an undefeated Broncos team with a good defense. Again, this game came down to the wire with Dallas driving the field with time running out but not being able to punch it in at the end. Dallas struggled on defense against the Bucs but beat Carolina handily and of course they survived the Chiefs in Arrowhead. I don't see a pattern. I don't think you can draw any conclusions from those games except that Dallas' defense struggled the first few games but has gotten stronger the last two games as Ware and Ratliff are coming on strong. Dallas has been a penalty magnet and keeps shooting itself in the foot with mistakes which they constantly have to overcome. Romo has been very inconsistent so far but can build on his solid game last week against the Hawks. Dallas fans are hoping to see a team that continues to improve each week which is a stark contrast to their normal hot starts and cold finishes to seasons. Like Seattle, Dallas isn't a very good road team right now so homefield will help.

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
There is no reason to think the Seahawks will win on the road this week because the Seahawks NEVER win on the road against good or even decent teams. Never, never, never (ok well maybe we did in the eighties, my memory isn't so great). I keep waiting for it to happen and it never does. I agree with you that Dallas is overrated and play down to their opponent (like the Chiefs game). No , I think the defense comes out fired up. Plays well at first. The offense runs a series of 3 and outs. We give up a few long passes. Start abandoning the run. Get sacked a bunch. Give up some turnovers. I mean is there any other way that this plays out?

HawQz wrote: I mean is there any other way that this plays out? Yes there is, Knapp doesn't panic like he did against Arizona and keeps pounding the rock. This team has done fairly well at running the ball when they keep at it. And to the other poster, I never said "we beat that team that beat the other team that beat them" I used NFL offensive and defensive rankings to see where we stand in comparison to other teams. But like someone else said, the shutouts against the RAMs and Jags balance out the games against the Cardinals and Colts so I believe that our defensive rankings are right about where they should be. Our pass defense is pretty good, and that was without Trufant and Hill. Do not underestimate the value of those two players. Romo will make mistakes and we will capitalize. And I think it's high time Mora pulls all the stops out and puts our best returners, Burleson and Josh Wilson on the field with ST! Those two were a big reason for any success the Seahawks had last year. The offensive line knows where it is heading now. Sims, Spencer, Unger and Willis are in. Locklear will be back next week. With a little help from a TE or RB, Damien McIntosh should do just fine. All we need are a couple of good screens, reverses and a shot or two of the SeneCat and we can slow their D down, might even catch them off guard and make 'em pay for their arrogance.

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
Ivotuk, I agree with your assessment of both Dallas and the Hawks but... I think at home I would pick these Hawks to go out and beat Dallas. I just don't see them doing it on the road...unless we get something really lucky like a Romo injury or 5 turnovers. I've given up expecting anything from them on the road but to beat the Rams. ..They're addicted to the 12th man. I hope I am wrong but I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
I don't care if Dallas won or lost to Atlanta. This is a game of matchups, and we have a different squad than Atlanta. Our OL isn't going to withstand Dallas' pass rush. Dallas' defense is playing very well against the run. We won't be running the ball and will have difficulty in passing against a good secondary. If we can't score points, we can't win. I'm not saying we're going to lose for sure, since nothing is for sure in the NFL, but I don't see how we can score points.

I understand your point. I was just saying that all that stuff doesn't determine who wins the game. Teams that walk into Sunday's game thinking they can just show up and win get beat. I do think Seattle's chances just increased dramatically with the injury to Ratliff at NT. His pressure up the middle takes some of the focus off of Ware on the outside. Without pressure on Hassleback I see a good day against our secondary. High scoring game.

todays results show why most people didn't think our team had a chance. The team rolled over and died and it wasn't surprising.

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
Like I said, if you can't score points, you can't win. A NFL starting caliber Free Safety would be nice as well. Trufant looked rusty, but 2 of the PI calls were for breathing on Austin and the refs bailing out Roy Williams. Trufant could've laid down on the field and Williams wasn't going to catch that. Small wonder the Boys scored when you get 2 gifts on the 1 yard line. We need a secondary, and at least 1 DE that can create consistent pressure on his own. I like Wilson, but it's possible he's already hit his ceiling; I don't see much improvement from last year. I can actually see Ruskell grabbing a DE in the 1st next year from a loaded draft with a very high ceiling at the position.

I agree on the PI on the throw to Williams but I did see PI on both of the Austin plays. In the end zone he grabbed Austin after his double move because he knew he was beaten. It was a nice job because his arm was behind Austin and just about hidden to the camera. You can see it better in slo-mo. The other he just cut off Austin's route which is an easy call. I've seen that call three times already this season and one of those was on a Dallas CB. I do think that hit on Hassleback should have been a flag and will definately be a fine this week. I think Seattle's offense was doing a good job against the Dallas D but just got behind early and couldn't match scores. I was concerned after Dallas went up 21-10 about Seattle going down and getting back to within 4 points but I think the punt return sealed it for me. The injury bug has just destroyed any chances of this team getting anywhere this season and that's a freakin' shame really.

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
Yet. They lost again. Though it's possible they could win everyone of the rest of their games .... doubt that though... 10-5... ok, just joking. lions next, ( plane could crash ) and the Rams are just still only one game back. So are on a roll. Still thinking they built the practice .. ah Group Unhealthy place, on on some type ofNative american villege/burial ground . , since they are cursed by unhealthyness the past two years. Could try some type of exorcism ritual... couldn't hurt ;)

Re: There is every reason to believe that Seattle will Win this
I don't think it's the injury bug that sucks the life out of this team on the road. We had two weeks to prepare, and had nothing on D. Offense just plain sucks. This team lacks guts and character and looks like it's about to roll over big time for the next couple weeks. I could se another win a qwest, where we like being bullies over the extraordinarily weak and then another big losing streak. I think we lose at minny (an absolute given) and AZ (extraordinarily likely), followed by a loss at STL to end all hope.
