Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
Wow. So what's it going to cost us to cut him loose one year early? Or do we try it again one more year?

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
What a shame, but we are 7-0 without him. Thanks goodness for Bullit, Jacob Lacey, Jerrod Powers. I think we will be just find Hayden, Powers, Lacey, Beatha Bullit, & yes Jamie Silva & Jennings

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
The Colts don't have to make a decision on any safety even in an uncapped 2010 season. Bullitt is a restricted free agent and Bethea will be far worth the money as he has stayed healthy and proved himself to be a pro bowl caliber player. 2010 will be interesting though. I do stand by the fact that they don't have to make a decision on Sanders, but that doesn't mean anything in an uncapped year. Anybody can dump anyone via trade or release and simply absorb the blow, which is going to be nearly 6 million plus for Bob Sanders. But if 2010 does end up being capped and something gets worked out, you can expect Sanders to remain on the team until 2011.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
Colts will cut Sanders IMO, Wait and see. Too much money for a guy that could never stay healthy. His career with the Colts now over along with Jackson. We will be just fine with Bullit who has sErious upside. Bethea is playing at pro bowl level and Indy must sign him.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
Technically we were 5-0 without him. Hard to believe out of all the time he's missed this will be his shortest season at two games. So now he will have played 47 out of a possible 96 regular season games (by years end). His story has gone from being frustrating to just sad.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
When healthy one of the best Colt defenders we have ever had, but this is like breaking news that the waterboy is out of the season. Aside from his INT the other day you wouldn't even know he's on the team this year. I feel bad for him that he has to go out this way, but unfortunately I think it's time to cut ties. I hope he gets it together somewhere else, but I think indy needs to move on without him. Best of luck Bob, but I think it's Silver Bullitt time.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
At this point who has had more surgeries than Bob Sanders? Evil Knievel maybe? And the old argument that it's from all the big hits and the way he plays doesn't really fly this year with knee and elbow injuries.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
I don't think the Colts have to let him go right now, so I wouldn't rush to that decision, but I would be a little surprised to see him back next year. If he does make it back you know the Colts won't expect a full season out of him. He might not even be the starter. It's just a horrible shame.

I'm sure this is still some sort of over-reaction.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
I would hope that instead of just outright cutting him, they try to trade him first. Even if it isn't for much I would rather get something for him instead of nothing.

Re: Bob Sanders Out for Season
Well thats true Colts can still hold on to him but lets be realistic, at the cost for him as an investment, it really doesnt make sense at all. He will never be healthy and thats just the bottom line. Bullit is a keeper at a much cheaper cost. Sign Bullit and Bethea long term and then make a decision regarding Sanders. bent20705 wrote: I don't think the Colts have to let him go right now, so I wouldn't rush to that decision, but I would be a little surprised to see him back next year.
