Cowboys Jerry: salacious photos are 'misrepresentation'

By Mike Fisher
OXNARD - Jerry Jones on Sunday night broke his weeklong silence regarding a pair of salacious off-the-field stories involving Dallas Cowboys ownership.
On an alleged extortion plot centering around photos of the Cowboys owner with women in a nightspot, Jones said, “Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes. I’m just not going to comment on it."
On the team's "party bus" serving as the site of a Sunset Strip get-together including Dean Blandino, the NFL’s vice president of officiating, Jones said, "I don’t deem it inappropriate at all. Part of Blandino’s job during the offseason is to network with the clubs. That’s a good thing. ... As you know, our bus, we entertain, that’s what we do. ... That’s why we have our buses. We have two buses. Those are a big part of what we do, make available for sponsors for trips, make available for own special occasions. ... One of the great things about having our camp out here is that it’s an area that has a lot of entertaining things to do.’’
Jones said he's been aware of the titillating photos for five years, and said he is unaware of any protests from inside the NFL regarding Blandino's presence on the team bus.

Becoming?  We've been in that space for at least the last 5 years, if not the last decade.

Re: Cowboys Jerry: salacious photos are 'misrepresentation'

This is where I part sides. Let Jerry be Jerry. He is what he is. He has a lot of good in him, this is nothing bad that likely a lot of other owners don't do, but they are probably smarter to hide this stuff. He is what he is which is a successful man, and a good business man - actually a superb business man, but he is not a good owner or GM. Maybe he could be a good owner again if he would reconcile some things and concede, and realize he isn't the football genius he thinks he is. Hire a good GM, someone like Holmgren. Get away from the "jimmy" world and the "jimmy" guys. It's time for  a new direction. That way, he can sit back and drink all he wants. Love his sons, and they can take the business credit as the owners.

Drinks all around. Its winnin time.

First of all whatever degree of salaciousness or interpretation of it - this happened over 5 years ago. You are blustering over it as if it were last night.  So maybe he has cooled it since then and chooses his fun venues more wisely.

You guys are the most ridiculous grown men/children/women I've met. Who the f cares that this man party in his spare time and with whom. You fools act like the man is parting with criminals, or doing something wrong. What possibly be wrong with these guys entertaining friends, partners, sponsors? It's just amazing how much hate and ignorance surround this place.

Right! It's not surprising to me that you would take that stance. In sure jerry has cooled his adulteress activities, old Steve had the car out the other night so in sure jerry was home with the kids!

What you fail to recognize is that as the GM he is supposed to lead! The same guy riding dezs ass about making better choices off the field follows that up with getting some snaps in with three 20 something's! That isn't what leaders do, they lead by example. Clearly, you have never led anything which is why you make the comments you do.

Even in an dead to rights, "I made an ass out of myself moment," your on here defending it, sin, etc. might want to take a long look in the mirror

Army? Do you know that Any committed adultery? How do you not know their wives didn't know or approved?
I mean if a married man goes to a bachelor's party with his boys, does that mean he committed adultery? This has nothing to do with leading, he has a right to a life,do you think Dez doesn't party, who in this world doesn't.

Another bunch of posts proclaiming that "we are a laughing stock" or "an embarrassment".

To whom? And why do you care?

If this was Cleveland or Buffalo, it'd be a non story.

Even Tim, who's not that big of fan of Jerry had this to say.

My interest in “scandalous” photos is never very high to begin with. When they involve Jerry Jones, who was Internet fodder all week, it falls even lower on the meter.
That’s not because I want to protect him from anything. It’s because seeing Jones surrounded by young “fans” or seeing his son Stephen on the Cowboys’ party bus riding around with young ladies is nothing new to anyone who has been around this team the last 25 years.
Hey, there’s no evidence that anything was really going on in these cases, and there is certainly a suspicion that the photos of Jerry may have been misleading.
All of this has nothing to do with how the Jones family runs the club or why this team is stuck at 8-8. As for NFL Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino being photographed on the party bus with Stephen and company, the league can decide where that falls on the conflict-of-interest front.
The Jones Boys can party all they want, and I actually applaud them for doing it without getting behind the wheel of a car. It’s their indifference (and the NFL’s as well) to Driving Under the Influence arrests — and the almost inevitable return of Josh Brent to this team’s roster — that troubles me greatly.

What a bunch of self righteous people some of you are. The man took these photos an then tried to black mail Jery Jones for millions of dollars.

If you naive fools think that owners in the NFL, players, executives, politicians etc don't do this, well then I have a bridge to sell you.

Who cares, my beef with Jerry Jones is him as a GM, he's a great owner, but a horrible GM. That's all I care about, what he does concerning the Dallas Cowboys, not what he does in his private life.

Re: Cowboys Jerry: salacious photos are 'misrepresentation'

So Jerry has pictures taken with a couple of young women.  It's only a story because someone tried to blackmail him. It's not like he was snorting coke in a bathroom at a club.  I fail to see how this makes the organization an embarrassment.  These guys have lives outside of football and they have millions of dollars.  Get off their back for trying to have a little fun.

Sometimes I think the world would be better if I were dead...oh wait...not me, I meant you.

Irsey gets arrested, tweets stupid ignorant things, and does this all at his own hand and in the eye of the public and Jerry Jones is the disgrace.

Some people want to throw stones in glass houses. I don't give a flying F@#K what Jerry Jones does in his private life, and with who. It boggles my mind how people want and expect him to be Mr. Dallas Cowboys 24/7, it's just absurd.

Jerry has never been camera shy, he has always posed for pictures with people, fans, celebrities, etc. I'm sure there are thousands of pictures of Jerry posing with people out there. Some of the responses here seem so self righteous and way off base I don't know if its funny or sad. A snarky remark would be funny. The entire embarrassment and disgrace jabs are truly sad.

LOL you guys defending this idiot deserve what you get, this fool is posing for pictures and brought the attention on himself and there are clowns here blaming the fans LMAO. Gee sorry people expect the owner of the football team to know better than to pose for pictures with girls on his crotch while being married and make a mockery of the whole thing.
