He's a gigantic DE. I assume the staff envisions him as a DT?

Another big body for the DL. I'll take it. Haven't heard his name thrown around too much on here, I know we just offered him at the beginning of June though.

Re: micah dew treadway commits

This post makes me viscerally angry.  I'm still struggling to understand how Mike Judge and a terrific cast could ever make a movie as bad as Idiocracy.  I have no idea how anyone ever gave that movie the green light after looking at the script.

First, I'm going to hunt down and destroy all copies of that movie so no one else has to waste time, money, or brain cells on it again.  Then I'm going to hunt down and destroy anyone who ever liked movie, as well as their off-spring, in hopes of saving the future.

This is funny, As much as I like what Mike Judge has done, adding in my age, I have never heard of this movie, between the .png and you talking about it, I must say, I am intrigued and must find it now. I might have to check Amazon...

Okay after reading the Wiki on this movie, For some reason, I remember a movie like this but the name is not familiar.... I am on a mission to find it now. TY Lum...

Re: micah dew treadway commits

I was afraid something like this might happen.  Obviously, I'm a big Office Space fan.  I also thought Beavis and Butthead was truly groundbreaking.   King of the Hill is pretty much worthless, but it's also harmless.

Idiocracy is not in the same universe as those shows.  Please, save yourself before it's too late.

Not that it really matters.  You'll get five minutes in before you realize how right I was and how completely unwatchable that movie is.

The only real danger comes if somebody gets hooked up to some Clockwork Orange torture device and is really forced to watch it.

Well, that and if you currently have any respect or admiration for Mike Judge, it will be gone forever.

Re: micah dew treadway commits

Actually I thought the movie was amusing. The humor was less subtle than Office Space- it was more juvenile like Beavis & Butthead.

What was interesting was the concept, it had some validity. In the world we live in today, there are so many working married couples and women may be hesitant to have children because of concerns for giving up or stalling their careers. They end up putting it off and it ends up being too late with their biological clock. OTOH there are other people who exist in another social class/mentality that the husband will only work and the wife will be always home barefoot and pregnant taking care of the kids and the house. Is the concept over the top in taking shots at the blue collar lower class- yes it does, specifically showing a dad who is proud of his son for not taking schoolwork seriously but being adept at contact sports/drinking/chasing tail & knocking them up (just like his old man, a chip off the block). From there the balance of society is adjusted where for generations more children are born from lower educated people and less from higher educated people (due to the career women putting it off).

FWIW Terry Crews who plays U.S. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho was a former pro FB player and also is on Brooklyn 99.

Idiocracy is a 2006 American satirical science fiction comedy film directed by Mike Judge and starring Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph, Dax Shepard, and Terry Crews. The film tells the story of two ordinary people from the present who take part in a top-secret military hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years in the future in a dystopian society full of extremely stupid people. Advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant and dysgenic pressure has resulted in a uniformly unthinking society devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

Despite its lack of a major theatrical release, the film has achieved a cult following

Idiocracy was not screened for critics, but the film received generally favorable reviews. Praise focused on concept, casting, and humor; the bulk of the criticism was directed at the film's release issues or at special effects and plot problems. Los Angeles Times reviewer Carina Chocano described it as "spot on" satire and a "pitch-black, bleakly hilarious vision of an American future", although the "plot, naturally, is silly and not exactly bound by logic. But it's Judge's gimlet-eyed knack for nightmarish extrapolation that makes Idiocracy a cathartic delight."[22] In a review only 87 words long[10] in Entertainment Weekly, Joshua Rich gave the film an "EW Grade" of "D" stating that "Mike Judge implores us to reflect on a future in which Britney and K-Fed are like the new Adam and Eve."[23] The AV Club's Nathan Rabin found Luke Wilson "perfectly cast [...] as a quintessential everyman"; and wrote of the film: "Like so much superior science fiction, Idiocracy uses a fantastical future to comment on a present [...] . There's a good chance that Judge's smartly lowbrow Idiocracy will be mistaken for what it's satirizing."[14]

In other countries the film was reviewed positively. John Patterson, critic for The Guardian (U.K.), wrote, "Idiocracy isn't a masterpiece — Fox seems to have stiffed Judge on money at every stage — but it's endlessly funny", and of the film's popularity, described seeing the film "in a half-empty house. Two days later, same place, same show — packed-out."[24] Brazilian news magazine Veja called the film "politically incorrect", recommended that readers see the DVD, and wrote "the film went flying through [American] theaters and did not open in Brazil. Proof that the future contemplated by Judge is not that far away."[25]

Critic Alexandre Koball of CinePlayers.com (Brazil), while giving the movie a score of 5/5 along with another staff reviewer, wrote, "Idiocracy is not exactly [...] funny nor [...] innovative but it's a movie to make you think, even if for five minutes. And for that it manages to stay one level above the terrible average of comedy movies released in the last years in the United States."[26]

Rotten Tomatoes returned a 73% "fresh" rating based on 41 reviews by critics,[27] and Metacritic gave a score of 64% based on 8 critics.[28]

When Notre Dame offered Dew-Treadway on May 29, he immediately placed the Irish at the top, telling Irisheyes.com:
"I grew up liking Notre Dame. Notre Dame academics - can't beat it. Notre Dame football - can't beat it. And, they have great coaches."
The 6-foot-4, 273-pound lineman committed to Notre Dame as a versatile future member of the defensive line, but he sees himself ending up as a three-technique.
"They are recruiting me for end or tackle, but they said when they get me to the weight they want me up to, I will play tackle," Dew-Treadway said.
Dew-Treadway is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 34 defensive end in the class of 2015."

I like everything about this kid already. And Diaco wanted him in CT, so that bodes fairly well, IMO.

So MDT (likely sitting out 2015) will be a DT? If he is a DT, do the recent 2 verbals mean Elijah Taylor is no longer a DT option. It would be refreshing to land another 4 star recruit. Of the 8 verbals since the start of the year- just one.
