Blake Barnett has DE-COMMITTED from ND

Per numerous sources on social media especially Twitter.

@rivalsmike: QB Blake Barnett has de committed from #NotreDame and is open he says.

@JHopkins247: 4-star QB Blake Barnett has decommitted from Notre Dame

And from the kid himself:

@BlakeBarnett_8
"I am officially de-committing from the University of Notre Dame and opening up my recruitment. I want to thank the University and the coaching staff for allowing me the opportunity to attend such a prestigious university

Re: Blake Barnett has DE-COMMITTED from ND

Notre Dame will be suiting up 7 players from California in the Fall (barring injury). Including Max Redfield, Tyler Luatua, and Amir Carlisle. SubFan is not right about California, and never will be.

I'm completely right about California.

Recruit kids from Catholic Schools or from nice area's in LA, OC, SD, or the Bay Area.    Leave the kids from ****** area's alone.

Barnett will probably end up at Arizona or ASU and be a typical 909er - BRO

Is Blake not from a nice area?  I presumed he was a rich kid, working with those $100,000 an hour QB coaches and all...

Notre Dame fans can be so stupid at times I tell ya. Waxing poetic about the kid when he committed never said anything negative about him and now that he decided to decommitt and completely eliminate ND from consideration the hard core Notre Dame sore losers come out swinging haymakers.....lol! Gotta love Notre Dame fans. They love you one minute and chew you out and stomp on you the next. Oh by the way if this wasn't excruciatingly devestating. Remember 5 star RB Ty Isaac well he is Michigan bound. Ouch!

Too bad, but better sooner than on NSD. At least we have time to get in on another QB.

Just don't tell me he has a sick grandmother.....

It's not just notre dame fans, it's all fans for the record. And the kid just nut punched every one of us, I think it's only fair to assume we aren't happy with him.

Ty Isaac just made a huge mistake. Hoke will be gone soon and all bets are off after that. But hey at least we don't have to face him.

Corona isn't that bad. But haha at the 909er reference most people don't understand what that's means here.

Re: Blake Barnett has DE-COMMITTED from ND

IMO he took a long look at the competition and decided he didn't want to sit that long. A top of the line education mixed in with a strong family atmosphere were not as high on his list.
Good luck to him.

Re: Blake Barnett has DE-COMMITTED from ND

Yeah...and even the "one" was boarder-line.

While I'm not going to talk trash about Barnett, I will say that this commitment crap is pointless, and until a kid signs his LOI he's really not a part of the program.  It's amazing how much money is generated from high school kids committing to a school even though they have not signed an LOI.

I like the idea of an early signing period.  However, I think we'll see the transfer rate increase across the country once an early signing period is implemented.  At the same time, once the early signing period comes to fruition I'd like to see the transfer rules updated as well.  While I hate to see good prospects transfer out of ND, I think the universities hamstring these kids a little too much with the current transfer policies.  Examples include universities with the power to block kids from transferring to certain schools, and forcing kids to sit out a year or go the D-II route once they've decided to transfer.

Hmm.  Do imaginary facts constitute an opinion?  Rarely do I see that word used like this, and it honestly makes me wonder.

I know I don't speak for TBone, but I'd like to chime in here. A) they're not facts, imaginary or factual, when a statement is started off with "IMO."), and B) what f@*^ing "word" are you talking about? Opinion? tia

Rarely do I see such a do^che bag nitpick everyone's friggin posts, and it honestly makes me wonder...
