A proposed change to the player draft.
For whoever runs the player draft, I thought crossed my mind about how to change it and maybe make it better. Over the past few years we have really developed a community on here with a large core of posters. I have seen some asking if they can keep who they drafted year to year or that it is not completely fair that they can't keep up posting with guys who have no life (dosch and the cranky old men! ). My change fixes all that. So here it is, when you draft somebody you draft them for their entire career. Then upon their graduation, NFL, medical hardship, or transfer you will reenter into the next draft that will include the incoming class of freshmen. That why it allows everyone to truly "rep" their guy and pick that diamond in the rough (Eifert, Martin). For instance if you draft if you were apart of the 2011 draft and had drafted Aaron Lynch, you would have reentered the 2012 draft and if you picked Tuitt and he say he leaves early you will enter into the 2014 draft. It was just a thought that I wanted to throw out there.

I'd add that you can opt out of your player...but you automatically drop to the bottom of the draft. --------------------------------------------- --- KurzND wrote: For whoever runs the player draft, I thought crossed my mind about how to change it and maybe make it better. --------------------------------------------- Yes that was another thought! If your players graduates or leaves to the NFL after 3-4 years do your order of poster rank or what not then players who transfer/med hardship then those who wish to opt out.

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
All I know is I traded Deion Walker a couple years back to some guy in Minnesota and got like eleven draft picks in return.
Dibs on Niklas, Jaylon, Daly, and the defensive line. I haven't made up my mind on the rest.

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
Not a bad idea. I had Eifert two years running, mainly owing to my post count which allowed me to pick at the top. But if TE had been injured, I wouldn't have objected to starting over the next year.
Let's do it. BUT, who are you calling a cranky old man?

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
I have no comment. But it looks like post count will still be involved.

I like the general idea, because I think it will make the draft a little more interesting. Once strategy could be to take a senior on his way out, hoping for a better pick next year, and another strategy could be to take a freshman this year that you know good and well won't play, in hopes of having a starter in a year or two. I think if a player transfers or goes med hardship, though, that drafter should be in the same group of drafters as those whose players have graduated or left for the League. I agree that if you opt out, you go to the second group of drafters. Sounds like fun. I think this year's draft should start fresh, though, with this new understanding of how it will work.

RE: A proposed change to the player draft.
I like the idea. It gives you a chance to really "rep" that player, especially if he is young and you gamble on him!

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
If we're going to rep people properly, the definition of repping needs to be explained.
My guy graduated....so I'm ready for a new guy anyway. Sorry Lummmberg....I call Jaylon Smith, he's from my home town. Makes it easier for me to rep him properly.

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
While I like the idea if it were a fantasy draft for money, doesn't it add just a bit too much complication to what should be a simple process that is just for fun? In my opinion, tracking who has "keepers" or who wants to ditch last year's draft pick makes player reppin' a little more work than it should be... Just my $.02

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
So obviously this would go into effect for the next year? no one would get to keep their guys from last year?
I like it and I think it put more intrigue into drafting a guy like Redfield or Vanderdoes early. However, it will really make me hate a player if they are highly touted and I take them early only to see them bust.

Re: A proposed change to the player draft.
I say you have two guys allowed to rep each player... then the one who reps him best over the season gets to keep him -- add some competitive fire to not just the draft but the actually repping. chinadude wrote:
