Is anyone other than myself...
Getting sick of the SEC bashing and anti south threads?
I'm not an SEC fan by any means, but I do respect their dominance at this point. Starting thread after thread about the SEC just makes us look like jeolous little brothers, IMO.
Some of the things that go on in the SEC are suspect, no doubt, but ND is recruiting toe-to-toe with Alabama and Florida as we speak. We're competing with the SEC in bowl games, and we're going to continue to compete with the SEC in bowl games.
I just want to beat them. I respect Alabama a HELL OF A LOT more than I do Michigan.
I'd like to see a lot less anti SEC threads, and a bunch more about ND, and ND recruiting. JMO

We all have other teams we pull for for diffrent reasons and mine is South Carolina. It does get old. They have gone head to head with alot of great teams and deserve everyones respect. I am with you.

Agreed...just like the posting of that pic the other day of their recruit Foster supposedly sleeping in class. No one knows the context in which that photo was taken. The people who post negative things about Alabama amaze me. It's as if they think that the more they pile on the SEC/Alabama, the less the *** kicking they gave us will hurt. Just let it go...

Agreed! This site has been almost unreadable the last month with all the bashing. SEC is a very good conference as much as i don't want them to be.

I agree that this obsession over the SEC should end. I want us to beat them on the field. I want us to be the first to defeat them. Tearing them down only makes us look small and jealous. I am neither.

As a person who oversees a lot of marketing and sales... I personally blame the writers on this site and the mods for not giving us topics to dicuss.
This is a message board and the peps in charge should have had "downtime" topics to discuss.
What else there to talk about? Other than a Bama dude sleeping in class and how much of a turtle lover woody Hayes was

For once I agree with you '93. Alabama makes themselves easy targets with some of this stuff but they won so they can essentially do or say what they want and anything that we say sounds like sour grapes, whether right or not.

I blame our own posters, but even more than them, the SEC for extisting...no, just kidding. There have been a fair amount of left over SEC posters on our site since the NC game, but for the most part the semi regulars from the SEC like "cheif" and "DocS" are good contributors. Having some Alabama posters on this site after the NC game was to be expected, IMO. Their attrition rate wasn't, and the Manti fiasco didn't help. It's just hard and annoying, for a lack of a better word, to sift through 8 different SEC threads when you could care less. Everyone here should be more concerned with Notre Dame and recruiting here instead of tying to continually push "we are better than you". Who cares about preppie attitudes? This is about football and Alabama beat the crap out of Notre Dame. So what do the Irish have to do to get over the hump? That's what I want to know.
My cousins went to Notre Dame as did my Dad and Grandfather. When I was in high school they took me there to meet everyone. I was from Memphis, Tennessee and was royally treated like a dumb hillbilly. Small and stupid is what I was lloked upon as. I thought everyone I ran into was nothing but rude. I hated it there. I signed with a Southern school and we lost twice while I was there and anyone who has followed Notre Dame football for long knows they lost a ton more in that time frame. (And I haven't done that bad in life either)
Just because it's not Notre Dame does not mean it's a bunch of hillbilly illiterates if the school is located below the Mason Dixon line. Notre Dame is a great place and a place to be proud of as being upper echelon. That still does not mean a school consists of inbred stupid hillbillies if they are an SEC school. |

As long as this is evolving into a thread about topics that we should discuss in the off-season, I'd like it if the board loosened up a little bit. It's okay to have some joke threads and so forth. If you don't like them, then don't read them. Honestly, if all you want is recruiting info then you should just be a member. This is a message board, not a recruiting board.
