Actually, I don't think ND will ever reach that next level until they have the depth to red shirt ALL freshman linemen. No mattert how talanted, they need the year in the weight-room.

You should probably amend that to say "redshirt ALL freshman that are lineman". Freshman skill players can make a huge impact. T.J. Yeldon and Amari Cooper say "hello"!

I agree with this for Offensive Linemen, but I have no problem with letting some of the D-Line kids get out there during their freshman year, IF they're good enough.  If we're bringing in the kind of talent on D-Line we need to beat the SEC, they're not going to stay for a fifth year, so we might as well get them some experience, especially in the 4-6 blowouts we should have every year going forward.
