Well, if true, it wasn't his modus operandi.

Kiffin also fired their DB coach, Marvin Sanders, right BEFORE signing day, and SC fans credit some of their late defections to this move, as well as their linebackers coach Hazelton defecting to join Brian Polian at Nevada.

Oh come on, 64, Notre Dame needs SC and SC needs Notre Dame and it hurts either school big time when the other is on a down cycle.

Remember back when Ray Meyer coached DePaul and they were good year after year, and Notre Dame/DePaul was a guaranteed network TV national game twice a year?

DePaul lost their mojo and that rivalry is beyond moribund now, lucky for that to be on ESPN2 nowadays if on TV at all. The demise of DePaul hurt ND basketball very directly, and the demise of SC would hurt ND football even more.

Just as we have been hurting them by being pathetic in recent years. In the years Oregon State took SC out of the running, a last game of the season win against a top 5 ranked ND team could have gotten them right back into the title game.

Beating a 3-9 team 38-0 helped them not at all.

If those tables are ever turned, it will be the same story for us.

ND needs a strong SC like Superman needs Lex Luthor. And vice versa.

There is supposedly mutual interest between Polamalu and the Rams. Jeff Fisher is an SC alum.

I can't imagine being the OC is an interesting job without play calling duties. Might ding them in recruiting a bit, but they've still Ogre and Tee Martin, they'll be fine.
