The ACC may be a sinking ship but I think ND would be more like to join a retooled Big 12 before they joined the B1G simply because of the rules on television contracts.
Also, I'm not sure how the B1G fans can blame weather for their bad recruiting performances when ND, OSU and Michigan were all concensus top 10 classes and all 3 of those schools were able to pull southern kids up north.
I don't get how the ACC is suddenly a sinking ship because they lost one school (Maryland) who was in deep financial straits and made the move literally only for the TV revenue.
You have to be stupid enough to be a WVU or Big Ten fan to think the ACC is in any trouble.
If the ACC were in any trouble, it would already have happened, and Rutgers would not be in the Big Ten. Anybody who thinks that the Big Ten would take Rutgers while it had even a prayer of a chance to get UVA or UNC or even Dook would be among the dumbest WVU fans.
As for Maryland - it has been dead last among the ACC's state universities in average attendance for football games for at least 25 years. In 2012, 2-10 BC actually averaged more per game than did Maryland. Maryland basketball also fails to draw what it used to. Louisville will easily outdraw Maryland in both sports, as well as in baseball. And Louisville is decidedly better in all 3 sports. Save for lacrosse and a couple of women's sports, Louisville is a very nice upgrade over Maryland in both level of play and fan support.
