RE: Now that Manti's gone,.......
TJ Jones, Irish Chocolate, Tommy Rees (don't laugh, I'm serious. He doesn't have to play to lead), Zack Martin is already a leader in the clubhouse.
Having said that, Manti was a once in a generation intangibles guy, so don't expect that particular kind of leadership from anyone on the roster. Losing Kappy and Cave hurts as well.

I expect Tuitt, Nix & Shembo to step up as leaders on D. On O I can see Martin, Watt & EV.

RE: Now that Manti's gone,.......
I'm thinkin it has to be someone on the OL/DL or both...That is where our experience is now and I think Golson is 1yr early...Next season (2014) I think he will emerge has our Offensive leader no doubt.

RE: Now that Manti's gone,.......
I think that Jaylon can and will take over that leadership mantle by his sophomore yr.. If not by the end of his freshman yr.. Just look at how this kid brought this whole class together.. Going out of his way sometimes to make sure that he recruits other top athletes to the IrishMob.. This kid is special.. And I for one can definitely see him being just as big as an impact in the leadership department as Manti did.. amruther24 wrote: TJ Jones, Irish Chocolate, Tommy Rees (don't laugh, I'm serious. Re: Now that Manti's gone,.......
Oh we will have leaders that Is for sure......
I think EG earned a lot of respect In NC game and this season, I expect him to step up and be a leader as a QB. Troy Niklas will be a vocal leader. He Is never short on words. TJ could step up as well. Nix, Tuitt, Shembo and Jackson are already leaders In my opinion. Nix has already taken our incoming d line guys under his wing. If Slaughter comes back his leadership Is priceless....guys will look up to him, current players already do.

Nix. Yes, he's always good for a humorous quote, but he's got leadership qualities too. He will be a leader by example.

Just a little? He'll be the starting DE opposite Tuitt by mid-season. BAirish wrote: Love the EV energy. Should make his way into the rotation for a "little" pt,at least

Vanderdoes needs to be groomed to replace Nix when Big Lou leaves next Spring. Expect them to be swapping in and out to give each other rest. sgvdomer wrote: Just a little? He'll be the starting DE opposite Tuitt by mid-season.

RE: Now that Manti's gone,.......
Interesting, hadn't considered EV as an option for DE this year, but that makes sense. They want to keep rotating and right now we have 4 very good players for 3 spots, PLUS EV. Makes sense for EV to split his time between DE and NT.

Re: Now that Manti's gone,.......
Love Tuitt as a player and may lead by example but he is not a "jabberwocky" guy like Bennett or a chest thumper like Manti though Stephon has a little bit of that.... really really wish/want/hope that Jamoris appeal comes through... not holding breath but he was about to be an NCAA grade A stud mpearson82 wrote: Tuitt and Big Lou. Martin and TJ Jones on offense.
