Re: Did Alabama Take Steroids During the Big Game?

If this is harmless, why would the NFL and the NCAA ban the product?  Any doctors on this board?

Think about it, it is easier for the NFL and NCAA to just ban it, becasue that means they don't have to test it. It is a proven medical fact that IGF I the banned substance cannot be processed in the body by using a oral spray, if it could people who have to take HGH would use a oral spray and not use a needle. HGH can only be processed in the body using a injection. Mike and Mike were asking why it was banned they were never given a good reason, the reason is nfl and ncaa do not want acknowledge a difference between natural and Phamra grade IGF I.

Re: Did Alabama Take Steroids During the Big Game?

I'm going to be honest. When I looked at Bama's advantages I did think something. You can't tell me Alabama's S&C is that much better than Longo's. Longo is a nationally respected innovator in the field and a prominent S&C guy. Recruiting wise, what we have on the DL absolutely equalled what Alabama had on the OL. Generally, we physically should match up. Why didn't we? Why weren't we anywhere close? To not be in the same ballpark, despite similar personell and training... Again, anyone who thinks it's Bama's training is a Bama homer or isn't thinking clearly.

Now keep in mind that I have also suspected certain ND players of juicing (e.g., Ricky Watters sure changed his body type overnight back in the day), and so I don't think it's a holier than thou thing. I just look at it logically and that's the conclusion.

One thing is clear from the deer antler stuff, and that is if Bama players have something they can try, they will try it, at least legal stuff...

I'd be suprised if a significant number weren't juiced.

You could say the same thing about ND players if you wanted, but I don't think the culture in South Bend really supports that too much. It would be a lot harder. Do some do it anyway? Probably. Maybe. Whatever.

But I gotta be honest. The BS detector was activated after that game. I have no proof other than having been around the block a lot in the sports world, just being old... The evidence and logical explanations are just outweighed by what I saw. You can't explain it. A Bama homer thinks they can, but they are deluding themselves, I am afraid. There is no justification or explanation for that amount of physical difference, when you have the same type of athlete and the same type and quality (elite) S&C program. Fact is, there is no other logical or common explanation for what I saw, at least in my own mind.

I'm not trying to say anyone else should believe as I do. I'm not. Just being honest.

I can't follow your logic, if they ban it then they don't have to test for it? Isn't the point of testing to see if people are using banned substances because said substances provide advantages over natural strength/athleticism?

My Sh!t Detector has been going off for a while concerning PED use in NFL and NCAA football. Quite frankly, it's impossible for it not to be widespread. If the sport of CYCLING has a problem I cannot believe that the most physically demanding, painful, and injury prone sport on the planet doesn't have an issue as well.

At some point this whole thing will unravel and when we see the schools and names we'll all think to ourselves, "Duh"

Re: Did Alabama Take Steroids During the Big Game?

They are banning the excuses, see, the ncaa, nfl,PGa, or whoever still considers ICF I a banned substance but if they lifted the ban on deer antler spray or any over the counter product claiming to have ICF I in it, then Players would say they were taking that product instead of using the real thing, which is injectable ICF I, you know the NFLPA would blame the test on deer antler spray. So, it is much easier for the ncaa, nfl, pga, or whoever to just ban ICG I, because right now you will not test postive for anything using, Deer antler spray. That is just a fact and the ncaa only test for HGH once every five years and the NFL does not even test for it yet, mainly because you can hardly test for it. The reason oral spray does not work is because if it did, all people now have to be injected with hgh/ICF I for the body to process and most would rather just use a oral spray, well it does not work.

Deer antler works orally for whatever it works for. It has always been taken orally in the history of humanity. Orally, it works for helping "man situations", shall we say, when combined with a couple other things. I can verify that one. This idea it can't work orally is superficial, because it is stated by people who don't know or care how it does work, or if it does. I think it works to help general vitality, in any case. The chinese haven't kept using it for nothing. They are just as smart as we are. That is different from saying it should be illegal. I don't really understand why it's illegal, if it doesn't work exactly like steroids or injected growth hormone. If it works as a general health and vitality/virility supplement, maybe every program should start using it?
