Where do you want Eifert drafted?
Sounds like he'll go end of the 1st round.
As much as I dont like the Packers, I think he would really excel there. With the Pack probably letting Finley go, Eifert would step in and have a chance to be the #1 TE from day 1. IMO, Rodgers is the best QB in the league and Eifert would do great in that system--not a lot of power blocking involved from the TE position and could catch a lot of passes.
Other than that, would love to see him with the Broncos or Falcons.

RE: Where do you want Eifert drafted?
for his sake, he should be happy to go at the end of first, cause those teams are good. If he falls to top of 2nd, he could be on Rams or Chiefs or Clowns

Heck, Id rather see him as the #3 TE for the Pats than the #1 TE for the Browns or the Chiefs towsonkid wrote: for his sake, he should be happy to go at the end of first, cause those teams are good. If he falls to top of 2nd, he could be on Rams or Chiefs or Clowns

Somewhere with a great to elite level QB...I'd say Falcons. Roddy, Julio, and Tyler....good googly moogly.

Sounds good to me, talk Tony G into staying one more year and teach Tyler the ropes.

RE: Where do you want Eifert drafted?
I think he would be a good fit for the Giants if they dont decide to bring back Martellus Bennett. They have a history of throwing a lot to the tight ends and the offensive scheme would do well for him to stay on the field throughout the game.

All the Mocks I've seen had him going to Green Bay, Chicago, ATL or NYG.

Anywhere but Green Bay or Chicago.
Im guessing there will be a good amount of trading so its a little tough to predict at this point.

Re: Where do you want Eifert drafted?
I think he would be a perfect fit in St Louis with Bradford. The perfect type of player the Rams need to elevate the team. He was a nightmare in college and will be a bigger one in the pro's.
I think what puts him over the top is not just his size but the elite receiver talents.

Da Bears. Cutler needs a tight end that can help Brandon Marshall.

RE: Where do you want Eifert drafted?
I agree with this. My dream scenario is he falls into the second round, and the Vikes pick him up to pair with Rudy in a Patriots-lite type offense. If the Vikes can do that, and sign Greg Jennings as a free agent, how ridiculous is a Peterson-Harvin-Jennings-Rudolph-Eifert skill player core? dosch44 wrote: Anywhere but Green Bay or Chicago.

Just out of curiosity, who (besides Eifert himself) gets credit for him being a truly great tight end? Weis for having recruited him or Kelly for being able to mold him and develop him into a multi-threat (out wide and in-line). The dude was a low-three star and sat out a season for a bad back. Pretty incredible story.

Pretty incredible story. Weis for identifying him and Kelly for developing him. I don't really think it's a situation in which one gets more credit than the other. Obviously, Kelly had him for 3 years while Weis only had him for one (the back year that you refer to). However, Eifert was ready to step in and play for Rudolph as a FR (RS) before Kelly had had much time with him. Weis was getting much better at player evaluation towards the end of his time. The 2009 class ended up being really good (even the guys that transferred were pretty good at their new destinations). And then the 2010 class has been solid thus far.

weis was eager to get eifert on the field, as he was leaving. i would say that he probably deserves most of the credit. yourahoser wrote: Just out of curiosity, who (besides Eifert himself) gets credit for him being a truly great tight end? Pretty incredible story. Huh? I'm not sure I follow your first sentence. Plus, Eifert didn't play a single snap under Weis. He was out that entire year with a back issue.

Re: Where do you want Eifert drafted?
As fellow bears fans can attest to, we have the worst te's in the nfl, hands down. I am not kidding at all. They can't block (along with the rest of the OL) and they can't catch. Hell, even we they do make a catch they fumble the God damn ball. As much as the Bears need OL help, I would rather them draft Eifert in the 1st and address the OL in later rounds and free agency.
Also, if he is there I am fairly certain they will take him because the new HC, Mark Trestman, is big on using the TE position in the passing game. Granted that has been in the CFL, but he is absolutely going to use the TE a lot.
